We needed updates to a custom-built quote and pricing calculator built in Java. There was little-to-no documentation in the original code and the original development team was not available to help explain the underpinnings of the code.

The team had to reverse engineer the software to get an understanding of how everything was put together, and then develop a roadmap to build out the new features and bugfixes we needed.

We had a kickoff meeting to cover the scope of the changes we were requesting and walk through how the software worked. The team took screenshots and video of the different functions of the software. Once they had a clear understanding of the project, we were given and estimate of effort needed and an expected timeline to complete the work. Once the project was started we met regularly to cover milestones, test the completed work, and give feedback for the next iteration of changes.

We had a project manager as our main point of contact, but also communicated directly with the developers doing the work during the sprint cycles.

After launching the latest version of changes, our sales team is thrilled about the speed of the new server, and new features. No more errors or 30+ second page load times!

Rolustech demonstrated significant experience, following our search for a qualified candidate that could communicate proficiently, while still supporting project execution for our small business.
Following work with multiple partners, from top rated service providers to freelancers, Rolustech proved to be the best value for our ongoing development efforts.

Salesforce instance restrictions and ongoing subscription costs are not built to sustain our level of growth, and we required alternative software instruments that could more narrowly focus on specific business problems. These require significant critical thinking, in how to best execute the best path to a sollution.
My experience in a previous ADP rollout and managing some basic software automation, while also having a detailed understanding of our system requirements, allowed me to communicate this to Rolustech.
That discovery process is a collaborative effort with the Rolustech team, and usually requires multiple meetings to accomplish. They develop various elements in a sandbox environment, and in 1-3 week sprints, they demonstrate what was created.
After pushing the development to production, sometimes at the end of a phase, and other times at the end of a sprint, we test and provide immediate feedback for any bug fixes or critical data errors.
After that, we move on to the next sprint, or at the end of a phase deployment, prepare the timeline and scope of work for the next phase.

We initially found Rolustech through Upwork in 2007. They had heavy experience with SugarCRM and its Community edition. They also had excellent feedback/reviews from their clients

We have worked closely with Rolustech for more than 15 years. We have always found them to be an exceptional provider. They handle themselves professionally and their development work has always been delivered on time. Each person that we have worked with there has had excellent English skills. We've had very few if any miscommunications over the years that I can recall.
Rolustech has kept us informed of progress on development on a daily basis through the Redmine app that we use. Their estimate of hours needed to accomplish a particular task is accurate. I was at first worried about the time difference between U.S. Central time and their local time. But that has not been an issue.

We've worked with approximately six members of the Rolustech team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have had instances where we needed their help immediately, generally because of a serious user error. For example, we had a sales manager mistakenly delete 6,000+ records and Rolustech made it a priority to restore them for us, even after their normal working hours. Some years ago, we have had a U.S. company specializing in SugarCRM review the quality of our code.
They gave Rolustech high marks. They also remarked that they rarely had seen such a customized version of Sugar as ours. Because their employees seem to stay with them for many years (some have been with them since our inception), they know our account well. When an issue arises, they are able to fix it without creating other issues through unintended consequences.

Most of our communication was via a platform called Redmine. We used Zoom when we had a major project to plan.
