Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Head of Marketing at Prefixbox - an eCommerce site search solution provider based in Budapest, Hungary. I am responsible for the traffic, conversion rates, leads, and marketing strategy.

For what projects/services did your company hire ROI Foundry?

We hired ROI Foundry to help grow our online traffic and number of leads. They did extensive SEO research for us, our industry, and our competition and provided actionable strategies of approach. They also wrote skyscraper blog posts and assessed the ways we could most effectively grow our online presence.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop an effective SEO strategy, start ranking for relevant keyterms, get more high-quality content content, and drastically increase our traffic.

How did you select this vendor?

We found them through our network. However, we also talked to multiple other providers and found their knowledge on SEO/growth marketing was more extensive. They made impressive suggestions when we initially approached them with our project, so we felt confident they could deliver impactful results.

Describe the project in detail.

We started off with a long launch meeting explaining our current processes, where we were lacking, and the end goal we wanted to achieve. As they were quite familiar with our industry (eCommerce) the next step was for them to propose a strategy and 3 month plan.

They did extensive research into us and our competition and found the best way for us to grow was through SEO and growth marketing on LinkedIn - they then proposed a content plan/timeline and how it would impact our business.

Every step of their preparation was shared with us along the way and we collaboratively came to conclusions that worked on both ends. They shared all their research with us and were open to answer all the questions we had about the nuances, process, and how we could use it later.

They then began creating the first (of 3) outlines for skyscraper articles for our blog, which we then contributed to, edited, and approved together. They then wrote the content for us, we posted it, and they prepared a linkbuilding strategy full of actionable outreach and templates for us.

They also instructed us on how to promote our content effectively on LinkedIn by explaining the strategy and showing us the relevant groups, content style, posting style, and the internal things we had to do to achieve results.

What was the team composition?

We had 2 main points of contact (Growthhacker and Content Strategist - also the founders) who always replied quickly. Initially we started off working via email, but then moved to Slack. We had a few in-person meetings, but most was done online. While their team continued to grow, we always stayed in contact with those 2 and still do to this day.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Before starting this, we weren't ranking for any keywords. Now, we're ranking for the most important keyword in our industry from a skyscraper they created. This is the largest source of traffic for us to this day.

We're ranking for 5-10 other important keywords in our industry as well. Our AHREFs ranking has increased more than 20 points with their help. They increased our traffic 3-4x through the use of skyscrapers and social growth marketing.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They're great to work with! They were always quick to answer our questions. As we had a very basic knowledge of the space, they were patient and thorough when answering our questions, explaining processes and approach.

They provided great insight into topics they weren't directly helping with, which greatly impressed us. Our communication varied between email, Slack, and a few in-person meetings. They set clear deadlines and always met them in time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their knowledge and execution approach. All of the members of their team are deeply knowledgeable in their respective aspects, which becomes clear after the first meeting (also why the results are so impressive!). They were able to make and execute a clear plan.

And every single time we had a question or concern, they were happy to answer it and adjust the plan accordingly. They took extra time to explain processes and strategies to us, which made a fantastic impression on us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes we didn't have the resources or in-house capacity to execute certain tasks. As some of these were essential in getting desired results they strongly discouraged us from removing them from the plan. However, after an in-depth discussion, they were always able to suggest alternative approaches.

I’m the founder of a company that sells wigs, hair extensions, and other related products through a collection of e-commerce websites.

What challenge were you trying to address with ROI Foundry?

Our business was growing, but we didn’t have a comprehensive marketing strategy in place for the long term or an internal team to implement and maintain it. We’d worked with other marketing agencies previously, but we never felt that they truly cared about our ROI. At that point, we had poor open rates for our emails, a lot of inactive subscribers, and low search rankings. We were looking for an experienced vendor to enhance our marketing efforts, as well as add features to our e-commerce site and increase our conversion rates.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, ROI Foundry took over all of our hosting and web development needs from a previous vendor. Soon after, they started managing the technical aspects of our SEO efforts. Together, we looked at our competitors’ online performance and took note of their various strategies. We tested different outreach channels and methods to see if any of them would work for us. As we moved forward, we expanded their role further to include content marketing, email marketing, and automation, data analysis, domain authority building, and any other service that focused on increasing our digital visibility. All of these segments are included in our ongoing contract, but ROI Foundry has invested a lot of time and effort into each of them individually.

In terms of web development, the ROI Foundry team first analyzed our e-commerce site. We saw measurable results after about two months of working with ROI Foundry. Simply put, they were fantastic. Our conversion rates have more than doubled, resulting in about a 500% increase in revenue. Our website used to attract a couple of hundred visitors per month in the spring of 2017, now there are thousands. As a result of this success, our market share and other KPI’s have grown as well.

ROI Foundry is dedicated to our success. They track our performance in terms of sales. If they notice an aspect of their work isn’t doing that well, they shift their approach quickly and skillfully. The team takes full responsibility for their performance.

How did ROI Foundry perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a weekly call with our account manager at the very least, with additional communication as necessary. Other resources will join the call once a month for a brainstorming session. We use Wrike and Slack to share information and updates and Google Data Studio as a dashboard to manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aside from their work ethic and innovative approach, I appreciate their efficiency and dedication. They’re very result-oriented, always striving to find new ways to improve our business and outperform our competitors. If I ever have a question, they investigate it thoroughly and come back to us with multiple solutions.

I can’t think of any aspects of their service that could be improved.

Any advice for potential customers?

Any company that’s serious about growing should hire ROI Foundry, but they should be aware of the effort required from their end as well. The ROI Foundry team can’t do it all. If clients cooperate closely with them, it will be a successful partnership. The team is very responsive to questions and requests.
