I’m the COO of iComply Investor Services, we offer regulation technology services, software products for companies in the fintech professional services, banking, and government industries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Revised Edition?

We needed to refresh our branding in conjunction with a new suite of product offerings.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had been on a fairly basic WordPress package, and Revised Edition updated it to allow more user functionality for our back-office team instead of having to rely on an external team for web content posting, analytics updates, and contact form integration with our CRM. 

The team worked from the ground up from a design perspective, giving our brand a whole refresh while still holding true to the style guidelines from our original brand meeting when we first launched our company. 

They also integrated functionality from three different product websites into one, so that visitors could easily travel between them without feeling like they were going to three different websites. The team integrated those traffic flows to make them more seamless.

What is the team composition?

We worked with roughly 4–6 design and development teammates depending on the phase of the project. We also worked with their founders and project managers.

How did you come to work with Revised Edition?

They were recommended to us by another vendor partner. They were recommended for their prompt work, solid attitude, and ability to take the time to listen to the features of the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $20,000–$23,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Revised Edition in February 2019. There are miniature projects that are ongoing, but the bulk of the project was completed in Septemeber 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We were really impressed right from the beginning. The kick-off call showed that they had done a lot of research into our company, needs, and roadmap in terms of deadlines and sprints.

Their work gave us a chance to elevate and mature the company without doing a complete overhaul of our company’s look, feel, and character.

How did Revised Edition perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication was very clear. One of our vendor partners helped with the project as well, and the communication was very clear in terms of which team members on Revised Edition's team were going to do what and what they needed from us to maintain the set deadlines. Everything was adjusted if there were any delays.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team wasn’t afraid to ask questions if they didn’t understand something about our product to make sure that the integration with our CRM and other tools made things easier for our sales and marketing teams.

They weren’t shy about getting the answers they needed; they were very direct to make sure that there wasn’t a lot of back and forth. Revised Edition was conscientious, detail-oriented, and prompt, and they upheld the standard of excellence that they would expect from themselves.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have no suggestions. They ran the project the way that I would’ve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be prepared to go through a lot of detail in the beginning so that the team knows how to create a project that you’ll be happy with.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am Co-Founder and Principal of ATRIUM a Digital Marketing Agency based in Vancouver and Edmonton Canada. We work with a wide range of clients to offer consistent marketing results through an engineer's approach to marketing platforms and routines.

For what projects/services did your company hire Revised Edition?

Since September 2019 we have been working exclusively with Revised Edition to act as our key Website Design & Development partner to support our Agency clients. We share insights and collaborate between our processes to support our client's high expectations for their websites and website support.

What were your goals for this project?

Our Agency's engineer's approach to supporting our clients demands a very specific and unique process. We needed to find a website development partner that could understand, embrace and adapt to our approach and process that would compliment our other Agency services. Revised has been a fantastic partner in this case.

How did you select this vendor?

Beginning with the need to expand our website platform design and development capabilities we knew the pricepoint and quality of service that our clients demand. Through our network, we had heard good things about this new agency and how their team had rapidly adapted to other clients and agencies.

After some very detailed discussions about adapting to our custom website development processes, we knew that we had a good fit. Their culture for adaptability, continual improvement and desire to maximize value for all parties made Revised Edition a great fit.

Describe the project in detail.

When working with Revised Edition, we often are supporting our clients together. We provide Revised with the background, audience, goals and marketing metrics necessary to build a custom spec website for each client's specific needs.

They then take our shared clients through our custom design and development approach (Discovery, Structure, UX, Design, Development, QC, Launch & Training). The process is collaborative, but the Revised team handles each step with minimal need for oversight.

They turn our insights into high-performing, well-designed and easy to manage custom website in WordPress or other popular CMS, or eCommerce platforms.

What was the team composition?

Primarily we have worked to keep communication as simple as possible between our agency, and the clients. Revised Edition makes communication simple with a dedicated Project Director for each project, convenient weekly status calls & GANTT schedule updates, and communication tools through Slack.

Their team is always available for communication, and is very diligent with scheduling and informing or impacts to timelines if necessary. Their extended team includes full-time Designers, UX Professionals, Developers, Writers and Programmers. They have it all one place and it works very smoothly.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

For our needs, clients must be pleased with the results and feel that they received great value and on schedule.

These factors have been clearly met as we have been able to maintain our consistent 5-Star ratings from our client on our own Agency's reviews and have some of the lowest attrition rates in the industry from our clients. Revised Edition has become a critical value to our Agency and will continue to be our key partner for years to come.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Working with Revised is very simple. We have a clear understanding of the Project Director and how best to stay in communication. Updates and Schedules are provided without needing to ask for them.

Changes and challenges are communicated with us well before they are actually issues. If we ever need something out of the ordinary they are more than happy to accommodate, and they have continued to adapt their approach to meet our custom Agency specifications.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Simply put websites are very challenging to collaborate and produce consistently on time, on budget and with multiple stakeholders involved. Revised Edition has a spirit of continuous improvement.

When new frictions develop (which is infrequent, to begin with), they are the first to offer new changes to their approach, rise to resolve concerns and go the extra mile to make an impact. If you are a client you feel heard, and as an Agency Partner Revised is a team we can rely on with unquestioning confidence.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are working with Revised Edition to further expand their capabilities and team to reach more advanced features and processes for future projects (Custom Animation Team, User Research etc.). We are confident that we will grow these new abilities before the market even demands them. Great partner in this way.
