We will audit your Google Analytics (both UA and GA4), Google Search Console (GSC), and Google Tag Manager (GTM) settings and configurations, as well those for other Google services you may use (such as Google Optimize (GO) and Google Ads (GAds)).

We will also confirm correct set up of third-party analytics integration and event based conversion tracking. You will have the opportunity to review our recommendations before any further work is done.

This audit does not include implementations. Once we have your approval of recommendations, we can determine an additional scope of work for the implementations.

Keyword Research
Our keyword research is the foundation of our SEO campaigns. We look at existing keyword rankings combined with topics that your brand has the "right to own", but doesn't currently rank for. We will also map the intent of the user's search so we can optimize the appropriate type of content on your site.

Content Audit
Our goal here is to take an inventory of your existing content assets, look at key user engagement metrics for each, and determine the perfect plan of action. We decide whether we need to delete, consolidate, or optimize each asset to make sure they are working for you and to help determine which new assets need to be created.

Our editorial calendar will map out content topics each quarter that our strategists and writers will work from. These topics will be mapped to each stage of a typical user's buying journey, which type of content needs to be produced, and where the content will be hosted on the site.

Our keyword/content research and editorial calendar deliverables will provide us with the ability to make data-driven recommendations as to which content pieces to create, or existing assets to update.

The way to make those content assets perform well in SEO, is to first start with a clear, structured content brief containing a complete set of technical instructions for how an article's skeleton should look, so that a skilled copywriter with subject matter expertise can deploy their knowledge while also letting Google read, access, and rank it.

These pages will live in your primary navigation, will be focused on different "solutions", "services", "features", "use cases", and/or "industries" that you offer or serve, and will be mapped to target keywords.

A brief may apply to an existing asset that needs to be merged into another one or rewritten, or it may apply to a net-new content asset that does not currently exist on the site in any form.

The scope of work including primarily a technical audit of the site to determine areas of improvement after major traffic loss after launch of updated website. After audit was completed we did an overhaul of keyword strategy and made key improvements to the technical aspects of the site along with key content revisions.

We also transitioned analytics to GA4 and do a monthly data reporting meeting to assess the efficacy of the work performed based on incoming traffic and overall keyword ranking. The current phase of the work includes a full content audit and recommendations for optimization, rewriting and reorganizing content on the blog based on current keyword strategy.

Current deliverables are a list of rewrites and reoptimizations that FPS will perform along with creating a quarterly content calendar with briefs and recommendations for rewriting all of the existing content on the website. The work also includes generating new copy for new location pages based on updated SEO and keyword strategy.

This is difficult to answer because the work will take a long time to produce results. In the short term we have seen overall traffic improvements and some of our important keywords improve in rankings. Number of keywords ranking on page 1 is the most significant measurable kpi and that number has improved overall so far.

The project management from FPS has been nothing short of incredible. They do exactly what they say they are going to do, in exactly as much time as they say it will take to complete. They set realistic expectations for their scope of work and meet those expectations thoroughly. We hired FPS to help with a few SEO goals, including migrating all of our blog content from WordPress to Squarespace, doing a complete SEO audit of our main web pages (and subsequent landing pages), and implementing any fixes or changes from a technical and copy standpoint. 

We've also worked with FPS to create an ongoing content strategy for both re-writing existing blog posts and creating brand-new, search-optimized blog posts. The FPS team also assisted with reporting on our top search keywords, and creating best practices for our internal marketing team to write more SEO-enriched copy.

FPS has provided monthly lookbacks at the impact of the SEO audit and new content, including tracking our top keywords increasing in search engine rankings. We've seen an uptick in our keywords SEO ranking on Google based on our efforts together.

The FPS team has been stellar with their project management. Our team has a very specific way of working and managing projects and as an external vendor, FPS has felt like they're a part of the internal team. The team is also incredibly responsive and open to feedback. 

Whenever we had a question about something, it was generally answered within minutes (or hours - depending on what timezone the question was asked from). They are very communicative and have consistently delivered SOW items on time. If anything is delayed, they flag any blockers very early and provide solutions to meet our initial deadlines as much as possible. Overall, the FPS team has been very attententive to any of our needs/requests and we're very happy with our partnership so far.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In the first two quarters of 2022, we have seen an 88% year-over-year increase in organic traffic and a 42% YoY increase in unique pageviews from organic traffic. We have also started seeing upward movement in search ranking positions for several keywords important to our market.

The RevenueZen team communicates with us over Slack and is generally pretty responsive when we have questions or requests. We also have a recurring monthly meeting with our SEO strategy lead where we review a monthly SEO report and dashboard that the RevenueZen team has set up for us.

The RevenueZen team is easy to work with and does a good job of communicating results through our monthly SEO report. I also appreciate their expertise in technical SEO and their ongoing recommendations for improvement.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think there was a learning curve for RevenueZen in understanding our business focus and keywords that are most relevant to us, but I think this is to be expected with any vendor, and they've done a good job of working with us to figure out keyword prioritization.

RevenueZen provides us with marketing and branding services. They help craft our messaging and structure it into an outline and to post on LinkedIn. The team also creates a content calendar for us. Additionally, they’ve done SEO, specifically regarding organic marketing content. The team has helped with outbound sales from LinkedIn, though they no longer provide us with that service.

Throughout the engagement, I’ve worked with Steven (Sr. Outbound Strategist) and Hali (Sr. Brand Strategist).

I found them through LinkedIn, and their specialization was very interesting. RevenueZen’s founders have experience in accounting software, which is our focus — that was something we really valued.

We spend $1,000 a month with them. In total, we’ve spent $6,000 so far.

We started working together in January 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

Thanks to RevenueZen, we’ve seen an increase in leads. We’ve also been able to get a design partner out of the engagement. The team has answered many key questions for us. Moreover, they’re very good and hardworking people who are very experienced at what they do. 

How did RevenueZen perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very good at project management. We have weekly calls and meetings that keep us on track. Our communication tools are Slack and Zoom, and we use a voice recorder called Fathom. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with RevenueZen’s expertise. They’ve done this so many times that I trust there’s no learning curve for them, which I appreciate.

Since starting with RevenueZen and their efforts on the SEO side, we have seen an increase in our ranking on Google Search as well as an increase in our overall organic traffic. This growth has helped us get closer to our desired growth.

In the beginning, some things were not clear. However, since we realigned on what was needed by us they have done a good job at meeting deadlines and creating recurring meetings for us to review progress and discuss ideas to improve upon our organic growth. I really appreciate their willingness to work with us so we fully understand all the levers we can utilize as well as the complications that come with SEO.

I really appreciate their overall knowledge of the industry as well as Google Analytics. The teams we have worked with so far also have many impressive tools they use to determine what is best and is working and not working for our website/blog content.

I would like a continued emphasis on explanation of specific areas of SEO, the analytics they have set up for InsurGrid, and hitting deadline dates of the next steps from monthly meetings. We really appreciate their willingness to create multiple special metrics we have been using to track overall organic growth at InsurGrid. I believe they have created 3 total analytics dashboards for our team.
