The project resulted in significant progress in understanding what works well across each channel. On Google, we achieved a consistently strong Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), which was maintained effectively over the course of the campaign, indicating sustained efficiency in our strategy. For Facebook, while initial performance was slower, we saw a notable improvement towards the end, particularly with the introduction of User-Generated Content (UGC) videos. This shift helped boost engagement and ad performance, marking a clear progression toward better results. I'm the CEO of a software development company in Germany. We run a training portal in the German, Austrian, and Swiss markets.

What challenge were you trying to address with REPLUG?
We hired REPLUG as our marketing agency to support our performance marketing because we had been growing. Before, we did everything by ourselves, but we realized that we needed assistance in marketing.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
REPLUG provides us with performance marketing on social media platforms, so their work entails managing our paid ads and taking care of the creative assets. The team covers all of our social media channels, including Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, and X, as well as Google Ads and other third-party networks where users can get apps.
What is the team composition?
We work with Lorenzo (Co-Founder & Head of Growth), who is our main point of contact, and two other teammates who take care of our account. However, I don't know how many others are involved in the creative work. How did you come to work with REPLUG?
We tried a few different companies until we found them. We had worked with 3–5 other companies, but for us, their work was not enough — we didn't feel any heart in their work. Before working with REPLUG, we talked a lot and went through what we had experienced with the other companies.
We talked for a long time before we reached an agreement, so we made our point clear about what we needed from them and felt that they would deliver. We've been working with REPLUG since then. I don't know how we originally found them, but I believe they proactively contacted us.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent €25,000 (approximately $28,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in March 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We measure the success of our project by looking at our ROI. During the first month of our collaboration, we agreed on the goals that REPLUG had to reach. Our main aim is to increase conversions.
How did REPLUG perform from a project management standpoint?
REPLUG is very responsive to our inquiries, even on weekends or holidays. We have calls once per week or twice a month, and we also communicate via Messenger.
What did you find most impressive about them?
REPLUG is the first company where we've felt things are in good hands, so I would highlight the trust we have and the communication that has made us achieve that level of trust. We can speak freely with them about any issues and agree on things where everyone is happy. We trust them, and trust is the most valuable thing for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There's nothing REPLUG could improve on in their way of working. We're at the beginning of our partnership, and there still are a lot of channels we haven't used. Therefore, our only area of opportunity is the fact that there are other things to do.

We contacted Replug to increase spending on value campaigns on both iOS and Android without paying attention to acquisition costs but aiming exclusively at LTV and acquiring as many payers as possible, in particular more "whales". Technically they immediately proved to be complete in the technique of the campaigns. They chose to shift the target towards a more adult population by modifying existing creativity and after a short running-in period they achieved brilliant economic results by tripling their spending on advertising which was the main target.

The Paid User Acquisition project kicked off with an extensive audit of each active app marketing channel, considering past and running campaigns. On a weekly basis, they presented their findings and suggested improvements for each channel. Along with the audit, they checked the correct technical setup with our MMP. Our goals included the improvement of the CPI as well as getting more valuable users.
Toward the end of the project, we analyzed the finished tests, that have been suggested by them, along with suggesting a new improved testing structure based on said analysis. The App Store Optimization’s main focus has been improving organic visibility. On a monthly basis, they analyzed performance, keywords, assets, and competitor ranking.
During a joined call, we talked over their findings as well as them giving suggestions to improve organic performance. Since our own knowledge of ASO has been very limited, they gave valuable insights into the workings of the different Stores and were quick to reply to any of our uncertainties.

By consistently optimizing our campaigns, we were able to reach a satisfying CPI and higher quality installs.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were quick to answer any questions we had and went into detail explaining any irregularities in the reporting or uncertainties we had about any of their suggestions. We also held frequent contact via email and slack, along with weekly calls at the beginning of the project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were impressed by their extensive knowledge of the different aspects of the app marketing field. As well as being able to answer various technical, strategic, and operative questions in a very timely manner.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Seen Dating, a dating app currently available for iOS. We provide transparent dating, so our users, called daters, can see, listen to, and watch any conversations between other users. If two daters have a chat or video call, another dater can read those chats or watch the video so they can get to know each other better and faster. Additionally, there’s a content creation and television side to our app where content created by daters can be used in different formats around the world.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with REPLUG?
We needed help with our retention and CRM efforts. We didn’t have anyone in-house to handle that, so we decided to outsource it to get better retention messaging out to our daters and viewers and engage them better in the app. At the time, we had minimal direct push notifications or in-app messages for our users.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we engaged with REPLUG to get our retention flow in place. They’ve helped us create more user journeys to tap into our user base so we can reach out to them with engaging messaging. They’ve pushed these messages to daters to make them come into the app and spend more time in it. We handle the branding and tone because we use Gen-Z slang, but we work collaboratively. REPLUG helps us refine it and ensure we’re on target with the goal. Additionally, they automate the messaging.
What is the team composition?
We currently have two people on the team: Lorenzo (Co-Founder & Head of Growth) and a retention and success manager. Lorenzo is our overall engagement manager; he oversees the work.
How did you come to work with REPLUG?
Our founder reached out to a larger CRM company, and they referred us to REPLUG. Since we were a smaller business, we felt they’d be a better fit because they could give us more hands-on experience.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay around $5,000 per month, so we’ve spent above $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in October 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We run many retention campaigns at the moment. Overall, we’ve seen a lift in engagement across all the campaigns since they started the project.
How did REPLUG perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is exemplary; they’re wonderful at communicating. We have weekly calls, and they turn in a statement of work from the previous week to run through how they spent their hours and what they worked on. They also update the entire team, even though I'm the only one working directly with them.
They're always easy to reach if there’s a bug in production. Moreover, REPLUG pauses anything in real-time just to be reactive; they just hop on and adjust whatever we might need. All in all, they couldn’t do better from a project management perspective. They have an excellent workflow pipeline; it feels like they’re right in the office with us.
Our video calls are every Wednesday through Google Meet; we typically share screens, run through documentation, and discuss the live campaigns to ensure we’re on target and on track with the project. They’ve never rescheduled; they’re very consistent.
Additionally, they use Trello to track all their tasks, and we use Miro boards to scope the user journeys. We occasionally use Slack and emails to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their biggest strength is their expertise in CRM and retention. They’ve worked with many clients, so they bring a lot of knowledge and meaningful insights on successfully building out campaigns and user journeys. We benefit from their previous work and can lean on them for insights into the dating community. They're a fantastic agency, and it’s been a great experience.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t have any areas of criticism at the moment. If anything, they’ve had to wait on us because we’ve had to build tech to catch up with what we’re trying to execute. They’ve been wonderfully patient despite that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Tell them exactly what you’re looking for. They’re wonderful at figuring it out and opening your mind to different ways. Allowing them to provide their expertise and guide you is the best choice; they can help you look outside traditional channels and try something new.

In the meantime we wanted to improve the CR of signup and needed to combine the 2 journeys for right after app onboarding.
Replug helped us to analyse the existing data and identify what the "aha moment" of the user journey was as well as identify what makes the power users continue using the app. Based on those 2 analysis we went on and build the new onboarding & signup journey which would use the communication that worked for power users.
We used Clevertap, our mobile CRM and analytics tool.

We didn't notice a big uplift in engagement, but this was also a result of the general negative trend that the company had entered and we also stopped working with external agencies because of financial reasons.
