Introduce your business and what you do there.
Ryerson University is a public research university located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The university operates seven academic divisions/faculties, including Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science. the computer networks department, our staff of cross-disciplinary experts in networking, computer science and electrical and computer engineering make sure students have access to all the tools they need to succeed.
What business challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?
We were aiming to create a point of delivery (PoD) management and reservation portal for the students to use for their server and router access. They would get the option to see available PoDs to book and book up to a year in advance. With 30-minute windows of booking they are able to book up to 2 hours in a window, with a maximum booking time per day and week also in place. An admin portal was also required to manage the student bookings and create and manage PoDs availability.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They were responsible to design the product, the user interface and experience, and develop the student and the admin portal.
What is the team composition?
The team consisted of a project manager which was the primary point of contact, a user interface designer, a back-end developer and a web developer.
How did you come to work with the vendor?
The developer was introduced through another member of the faculty. They were a previous client of the vendor and were satisfied with the quality and delivery of the vendor. We considered Reev among other vendors and after a few rounds of interview and meetings we decided to select Reev as the vendor, based on their product knowledge and familiarity with the server and security requirements of the project.
How much have you invested with them?
While considering the allocated budget, we invested an initial amount for the project and continued to do so as more product requirements were added. We continue to add features and invest more based on the feedback from faculty and students. The exact figures would have to remain confidential.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement is still ongoing for maintenance purposes and minor developments and modifications of the initially developed portal.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
After a performance and usability test phase the portal was introduced to a limited number of students to test. The feedback has been positive so far and we are currently making the program available to more students. The portal has been specially helpful while students continue to study from home.
How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?
After the initial engagement with the project manager and designers, we moved on to bi-weekly basis updates on the project, until the beta release of the portal where we tested and reported bugs. They were prompt with the responses to our questions and concerns and made sure the security of the portal was prioritized.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They accommodated our requests of change and prioritized the usability and the user experience of the students with developing requested features that were out of scope. These enhancements made a great difference in the initial version and allowed us add features that were not within our initial budget.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing specific comes to mind. We were expecting a shorter test phase, but the duration was to be expected as we made change requests while the development was ongoing.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the co-founder of and COO of a home services provider platform operating in Latin America. We’re on a mission to provide opportunities for millions of hard-working people by connecting homeowners and service providers.
What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?
We hired Reev to help with the product and architecture design, UI/UX and development of the platform. Reev helped us transform the opportunity we saw in the market into a profitable platform by adapting different business strategies and building a user-friendly interface reflecting our brand. They designed and implemented web panels that allowed us to keep track of the platform activity and manage users, orders and transactions.
What was the scope of their involvement?
After holding multiple product design meetings, we had a good idea of how the platform should work, and defined the roles of the clients and providers. We then waited for them to put together the user interface and experience based on the product. We went through a few revisions of the design to make sure it reflects the brand.
Then, the development process started. We faced a few issues with third-party payment providers we considered for the platform but managed to find a solution with the help of Reev’s team and the payment provider, the technical team.
Reev was responsible for requests for modification during the implementation project and made sure it does not interfere with the previously designed features. We managed to overcome several challenges during the development process, like launching the provider platform earlier to start the user recruiting process.
We re-hired Reev to design and implement a website that showcases our platform and guides users on how to use it. The website has multi-language support, and landing pages focused on visitor conversion and download optimization with customized call-to-actions.
Other pages like contact page, FAQ, blog, and a smart download page were also implemented. The website currently receives thousands of visits daily and has helped us a lot to grow our client base.
What is the team composition?
In the first phase, we held meetings with the project manager and the lead tech, to make sure all features are user-friendly and technically feasible. We then continued communicated with the project manager as the point of contact with the designers, developers. The lead tech also was in touch with us directly, when it was needed.
How did you come to work with the vendor?
One of the partners had previous experience developing a platform with Reev. At the same time, we listed other vendors from Clutch and other sources. We compared the case studies, price point, quality of work and communication. We then decided to go with Reev given the quality of their wort, the great ideas they shared about the platform and understanding the business implications of a feature or design decision early on.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested an initial amount for the MVP of the project and made requests of enhancements and modifications to the platform before and after the launch, and have invested accordingly.
What is the status of this engagement?
Currently we’re in a maintenance phase and are planning the next phases and the product roadmap.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We received great feedback from both parties of the platform during both our early launch and the final launch. By maintaining continuous marketing we managed to grow the platform and monitor the performance of the app through the panels developed by Reev. The App Store and Play Store ratings also reflect the user engagement results.
How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?
The frequent progress updates helped us keep track of the project and ensure staying in the timeline. They used a project management software that helped all team members on both ends to stay updated. The responsiveness was also great during the beta and alpha phases of the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their understating of the implications of user experience, user interface or development of any feature, in terms of the business was impressive. They gave us insight into potential outcomes when making a product decision. We were also impressed with their passion for the project and their willingness to go the extra mile.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As the implementation of the platform required efforts from many third parties, managing the timeline was complicated and difficult. I see some room for improvement in terms of communicating the implications of certain complications with a third-party provider on the overall timeline. But, it was all expected given the complexity of the integrations.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of Ross Kamyar Homes, a real estate company which provides selling, buying and investment services to clients all over the GTA with over 10 years of experience in this market and hundreds of happy clients.
For what projects/services did your company hire Reev?
We needed a brand new and modern website that introduces our potential clients to our services and allows us to reach them using various channels. We hired Reev to design and develop our website and CRM.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted the website to introduce our team, services and help our clients with the right resources whether they're looking to sell or to buy.
We wanted our clients to join our weekly email list and request free home evaluations right from the website. We also wanted a CRM to manage our clients and deals and keep track of everything.
How did you select this vendor?
They were introduced from us from a colleague and after sitting down with them, they understood our goals and gave us feedback on different ways to achieve them. We're impressed by how fast things got started. We did get quotes from other agencies but at the end decided to go with Reev because of the quality of their past work and their good understanding of the market we were trying to reach.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
They started with our branding and provided us with different visual identity alternatives for our new look. After that was finalized we moved on to website functionalities and agreed on the way things should work.
The development phase them begun and we received weekly updates till the presentation of final version. We asked for a few tweaks and after that the website went live. They also helped us set up our social media accounts and introduced us to some marketing platforms that would help!
The website also provided us with a CRM panel to manage our current and past clients and make sure we're staying in touch with them and also managing the current clients easier and faster.
What was the team composition?
The team was composed of 4 designers/developers and one PM. The project manager was our point of contact throughout the process but we did have some online sessions with the designer in the first stages.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The new brand identity helped us redesign our print advertising and also start developing our online presence on social media. We started running social media campaigns and promoted our home evaluation tool on the website. We also used the website to showcase our best house listings.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The project management was clear for us and we could see the progress at every step of the process. The PM was very responsive and got back to us with answers whenever we asked for help or clarifications.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We found the speed of the design, implementation and communication very impressive. Compared to other vendors that we had worked with before, Reev was very flexible and responsive and they went the extra mile to make sure we're happy with the result.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We were hoping to have a better idea of the yearly maintenance cost of the website at the beginning, but as it was explained to us later it was dependant on the certain functionalities that were not final when we started. Other than that, nothing major comes to mind. Great experience overall.

The website also had to be visually appealing and to reflect the academy brand and values. Their team also recommended adding the Try One Class Free feature for new students, which we found to be popular. Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of Aurora E&E Dentistry, a dental center located in Aurora, ON. We provide corrective, preventative and therapeutic dental services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Reev?
We hired Reev to develop a mobile oral hygiene coach app. We had a clear idea of the features required in the project and used Reev’s help to transform them into a user-friendly interface reflecting our current brand image and develop a mobile app.
What were your goals for this project?
Our main goal for the app is to engage with our patients and help them with their dental care routine. The app is designed to contribute to our dental center’s branding and online presence. We also saw an opportunity to create a faster and easier way for our patients to book appointments and discover our various range of dental services.
How did you select this vendor?
Reev was recommended to us from one of their previous clients. We also created a list of other suitable vendors on Clutch, we compared the case studies and narrowed down to two other possible vendors. After initiating a conversation with all three and receiving proposals, we chose Reev based on their passion for the project, the quality of their case studies and the fair price point.
Describe the project in detail.
After the initial meetings in which we discussed our required features in detail and laid out a picture our vision, Reev came back with a few user interface designs and suggested implementing a 360-degree tour feature in the app, that we liked very much. After the timeline for the project was finalized, we were presented a working prototype of the app, in which we required some changes. We stayed in contact with the project manager throughout the development phase and received progress updates.
What was the team composition?
In the first phase, we held meetings with a designer and the project manager. We stayed in contact with the project manager throughout the rest of the project and communicated with the 2 designers and the 2 developers that worked on the project through him.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Although a few weeks have passed since the launch of the first version, we have received positive feedback from our customers both in-person and online. We plan to recommend the app to our patients from now on, to help them with creating and maintaining their dental hygiene routine. We also plan to run local and online marketing campaigns using the app soon.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We were satisfied with the communication system in place for the project. The progress updates helped us keep track of the project and ensure staying in the timeline.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We were impressed with their passion for the project and their willingness to go the extra mile. They ensure our users will get the best experience in the app. We welcomed their recommendation for the features and respected their expert opinion when it came to UI/UX. I also found the implementation quality and their attention to the smallest details very impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement?
At first, we were hoping for a shorter timeline, but after observing the well-thought-out process of the project, I am happy we didn’t sacrifice quality for a quicker launch date.

iOS App Dev & UI for Natural Wellness Company
"The user-friendly platform will enable our customers to find the products that they need."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m CEO of Floraverve. We sell essential oils and other products that are related to natural remedies, as well as devices like diffusers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Reev?
After we developed our website, we decided to provide a mobile application to make it easier for our customers to purchase our products. We also wanted to utilize the app to better communicate with our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Reev designed and developed the mobile app for us. First they researched our business to learn what we needed. Our first priority is iOS but we are planning an Android version next year. Then they sent us a draft of the prototype including different pages and features that they can provide. We made edits and comments, which they implemented in the beta version.
Next we asked to add additional features, which they are still working on. We asked them to implement AR in the iOS version so our customers can detect our essential oils bottles. It will also show the product's properties, remedies, and other information. We also asked them to provide a feature that lets customers select their desired essential oil in a separate package. They also did some work on our brand.
What is the team composition?
There’s a team of 4–5 people working on our project. We primarily work with a project manager, who also is responsible for UI. Our other main contact is the developer/designer.
How did you come to work with Reev?
One of my friends previously used them for a project. We had several meetings with them before starting the job. As soon as we asked them to start the work, they presented us with a timeline for the job.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since it’s still in beta, we don't know if it will provide better communication with our customers. My colleagues that tested the beta version really liked it. The user-friendly platform will enable our customers to find the products that they need. The AR functionality is something that our competitors don't have. That kind of creative feature will help our company develop our business.
How did Reev perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team is very responsive. We communicate through email, phone, and some in-person meetings in our office. We’re completely satisfied with their services and ability to stick to the schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team is flexible and innovative. Also, their prices are competitive with other firms.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we ask them for a new functionality, they research and review various features. They come back to us with suggestions that they think are suitable solution to our needs. However, we’d prefer that they present us with all options and let us decide which one to implement.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Know what you are looking for and your targets. They will provide a map and prototype first so you can decide what approach is best for your business. The more you can tell them exactly what you’re looking for, the faster they can take action.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm a freelance artist working on graphic designs, canvas painting, and sketching. I also founded and run an apparel brand named Unorthodox Studio.
For what projects/services did your company hire Reev?
I was recently presented with AR applications in arts and decided that I really wanted to experience and build a platform to showcase my portfolio and art in an outstanding way. I decided to start looking for app development companies in Toronto.
What were your goals for this project?
To offer a unique experience to my potential clients. I didn’t want a generic application with a simple design; I wanted an app to showcase my portfolio and create a personal connection between me and my audience.
How did you select this vendor?
I was looking for agencies in Toronto and looked at several options on Clutch, but their portfolios weren’t promising so I doubted if they could bring my ideas and vision to life. I was introduced to Reev through the developer who did my website. After meeting with them and a couple of other agencies, I decided to go with Reev because of their understanding of my vision and their reasonable pricing.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
After some initial meetings, we had a few brainstorming sessions in which they suggested features we could add to the app and gave me sketches. The app design was very important to me as it had to make a great impression on my audience.
After the features were finalized, I was presented with the UI/UX. I decided to not to go with an Android version for budget reasons, so developed the iOS version. It has AR functionality and music playlists, as well as a simple contact page.
What was the team composition?
I was regularly in touch with the project manager and the designer. I was also introduced to the two iOS developers who developed the video call function.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The app has allowed me to promote my work as an artist on social media, increasing my following on Instagram. It also makes a great first impression with my potential clients in person.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The progress management was very easy for me to understand and keep track of. The goals of each meeting were emailed to me beforehand and I was given bi-weekly progress reports. They also gave me access to the beta version a week before the launch.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The brainstorming session and idea generation process were very impressive. The team was very creative in the way they approached my goals, coming up with the playlist idea—it’s a great way for me to connect with my audience on a personal level. I was also happy that I could build the app with such quality within my budget.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I was satisfied with the entire flow of the project. I'd have appreciated if they could have helped me with decision makings about the features, but they left that to my perspective which is entirely okay as well.
