We identified an opportunity in the market to serve English tutors better and provide a better service to learners that needs them. We wanted to build a mobile first platform that streamlines the entire experience starting from students searching, lesson assignment to salary payment for tutors. At the same time provide an almost-instant match fulfillment experience for new language learners that are looking for tutors.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I know one of the founders from one of the companies we used to work together 10 years ago. So it’s a matter of reputation, trust and cultural fit. However, RedCat was one of a variety of vendors we interviewed. We found them through direct search and chose them after comparing against another vendor. The deciding factor was location and budget and their clear communication during the deciding phase

During the first months the project scope includes early exploration of ideas and solutions, defining key features and user roles, agreement on business outcomes and dividing all the above to delivery milestones. Once project requirements and scopes are finalized, the development process starts with wireframes, design systems, screen designs and eventually moving on to agile user stories and continuous releases of completed features.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
As a product manager I was a single point of contact, but there were 4 developers from RedCat side working on the project, including their TechLead who did hands-on development.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Prior to a planned final UAT, we had another pilot planned. The project team managed to deliver almost on-time and always on stand-by during our test period. Both apps for iOS and Android work smoothly.
