Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an executive for an RV dealership.
What challenge were you trying to address with Red Wagon?
There was a changing of the guard going on. We were spending $1 million on traditional advertising per month, but we didn’t know much about digital advertising, other than that it’s easier to track. We were searching for a service provider who could help us with digital advertising, so we engaged Red Wagon. Our primary goal was to drive more leads to our sales department and distribute them to individual locations throughout our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We didn’t know where to start, and we didn’t have any brand guidelines, so Red Wagon helped us develop guidelines and rebrand our logos and color schemes. We also tasked Red Wagon with optimizing our entire digital marketing process.
They discovered that our marketing technology stack wasn’t communicating effectively, so they rebuilt it. We use DealerSocket for our CRM, which is very antiquated. Red Wagon Laid ActiveCampaign on top of DealerSocket to pass marketing data through for us to access attribution data.
Red Wagon also created new paid and organic campaigns for our social media accounts, such as Google, Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat. They also helped with SEO, content marketing, video marketing, and programmatic marketing. For the SEO portion, we shared our core keywords, and they expanded upon them to take care of our SEO.
We rent out stadiums for RV shows, and Red Wagon created a QR code to encourage people to register for and attend our events. We also have an in-house video team that Red Wagon guided through the process of creating new promotional videos. Our photographer worked closely with Red Wagon on getting the right shots, cinematography, and scripting together. Then, they communicated with our videographer.
What is the team composition?
We worked with one team member from Red Wagon.
How did you come to work with Red Wagon?
Red Wagon approached us first. They came into our office and seemed very professional and knowledgeable, so we decided to give them a shot.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested over $200,000 in the partnership with Red Wagon.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Red Wagon in January 2021 and wrapped up our last project in March 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Red Wagon has helped us create videos that look amazing. One of our goals was to track our advertising spending with digital marketing, and we’ve cut back 25% on our total marketing spend. We had tried Facebook marketing many times, with no success, but Red Wagon insisted on running Facebook Ads, and they started driving great leads at a low cost. Once we saw success with Facebook, we decided to move forward with more digital marketing campaigns.
For the first time ever, we saw full attribution from lead to sale. We’ve seen a 27% increase in sales that we’ve associated with campaigns, and our conversion rate is about 15%. Furthermore, Red Wagon’s marketing efforts also resulted in 6,300 people attending our most recent event, which is more than we’ve ever seen.
How did Red Wagon perform from a project management standpoint?
Red Wagon took care of everything, which allowed us to be hands-off and only focus on approvals. It was a challenge for them to meet deadlines due to our internal politics and procedures, but they did a good job navigating that. They were solid communicators; we used Asana to manage the project and met in person.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There are a lot of agencies out there who say they’re well-versed in digital marketing, but they don’t have the right skills. Red Wagon truly has the experience, ingenuity, and strategic and tactical ability to run effective campaigns. I was impressed with how they strived to find creative solutions to our complex problems.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of Red Wagon’s communication could use improvement.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As long as you set clear goals for your engagement and communicate with Red Wagon, they’ll find a way to get there.

Lead Generation for Marketing Agency
"Red Wagon worked hard to make our goals come to life."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was the VP of technology for a marketing agency based in California. At the time, we had about 20 employees. We deal with a lot of financial products such as credit cards, loans, and debt consolidation.
What challenge were you trying to address with Red Wagon?
We wanted to scale our business up, and we needed to achieve more leads and website traffic.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a number of website landing pages, and Red Wagon helped us to drive traffic to those web properties. Then, we also wanted to convert visitors into leads, and our main goal was to eventually convert the leads into customers.
Everything was tracked and measured, and we had certain spend targets that we wanted to hit. Overall, we were focused on extending our marketing strategies and fulfilling our targets.
Throughout the engagement, we’d been in contact with Joe (CEO & Founder), and he recommended different forms of marketing. With our particular business model, we were almost exclusively driven by paid media, PPC, and targeted traffic. The team helped us managed multiple campaigns all at once.
What is the team composition?
Joe was our primary contact.
How did you come to work with Red Wagon?
Our CEO probably found Red Wagon through a recruiter.
How much have you invested with them?
At one point, we were only spending a couple of thousand a month, and eventually, we were spending $300,000 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Red Wagon from January 2017–January 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Red Wagon successfully decreased our cost per lead (CPL) by around 50% over the life of our campaigns and that made a huge impact. Overall, that allowed us to get more leads for less.
The team helped our business to grow, and they were very reliable, diligent, and closely monitored everything. We could rely on them to constantly look at our numbers and hit our targets, so we had peace of mind. Most importantly, they did what they said they would do, and they delivered month after month — their results got better every time.
How did Red Wagon perform from a project management standpoint?
Most of the tools were already provided by advertising networks, and we also used Google Sheets to interact and collaborate together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We gave them unrealistic goals, and we said we wanted to achieve a certain amount of traffic for a specified time. Despite that, they didn’t get scared, and Red Wagon worked hard to make our goals come to life. In the end, we attained our desired traffic inexpensively even though it was a complicated task.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we partnered with Red Wagon, it was a period of high growth for our company, so I don’t think there was really anything else that they could’ve done.
I would’ve liked to have seen them continue and grow their agency inside a department within our company. However, that wasn’t the direction that Red Wagon’s CEO wanted to take.
Red Wagon’s efforts enabled the client to cut their marketing spend by 25% and increase their sales from advertising by 27%. For the first time. the client was able to fully track attribution from lead to sale. Red Wagon managed the project effectively via Asana and met with the client in person.
