Ratufa’s team is easy-going in nature, and professional in work ethic. Though minor delays due to misunderstandings arose, Ratufa’s project management is effective overall. Despite occasional hiccups, they’re helpful, flexible, have quick and reliable communication, and get the job done.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a software development and software company with a 3-person team. I am the owner.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Ratufa Software Technologies?

We needed to develop a social mobile application and other tools, like an online ordering system and an accounting system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ratufa Software fully developed our Android, iOS and PHP web solution. They helped us design the layout wireframes of the mobile app, and started the coding from scratch. We provided feedback on any specifications we wanted to do, and we were given training on its administration. Ratufa Software was also in charge of the launching process. Some of the apps we’ve developed with Ratufa Software were cross-platform, while others were native.

Our latest project was for a social app with a sports target. Users can comment on live games, and have others follow them. Another one was a tool for gifting ideas for events like birthdays, which also allows users to invite each other through the app. They can track who will come to the events, and who will bring a gift. We have developed another application for recorded training courses, and a fourth one which counts how many times prayers need to be recited.

I’ve worked directly with 2 account managers from Ratufa Software’s team, but I’m not sure how many developers were used inside the company.

How did you come to work with Ratufa Software Technologies?

I submitted a proposal on Upwork and vetted a few candidates. I chose Ratufa Software because of their clear, easy-going, and fast reply. They showed professionalism in doing business with us.

How much have you invested with Ratufa Software Technologies?

The cost of their work has been around $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Ratufa Software before July 2016. We are still working together.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I would rate their quality a 4 out of 5. Our apps have been launched to stores, but we haven’t started marketing them.

How did Ratufa Software Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on-time for 90% of the time. Any delays are small, 1-2 days at most. We have had some misunderstandings due to the remote collaboration, but the project management in general was fine. We use Skype as the main communication tool, followed by email and phone calls.

They have been helpful and flexible in dealing with customers.
