We’re an executive leadership coaching and strategic advisory practice. I’m the founder and principal.
What challenge were you trying to address with Radically Distinct?
We needed help with branding and messaging.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I worked with Radically Distinct in two phases. The initial phase was to revisit our brand strategy and position, as well as the uniqueness of what we’re bringing to market.
The second phase was a brand refresh in terms of visuals, words, and a website redesign and development. They recreated our web presence and moved it to a new platform. They designed the pages and brought out the brand’s new look and feel.
They also created testimonials on the new site. They did photography and filmed a video as well.
What is the team composition?
We work with Jenn (CEO & Lead Strategist), a creative story person, a graphic designer, and an experience designer.
How did you come to work with Radically Distinct?
Jenn reached out to me on LinkedIn. We connected and just hit it off. I felt that their experience and perspective could help me. They’ve worked with a lot of different kinds of service providers and they brought a broader perspective.
How much have you invested with them?
The first phase was $10,000–$15,000. The second phase was $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2019, and I still work with Jenn in a fractional CMO capacity.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Success for me means coming up with deliverables that I’m confident standing behind. I’m very happy with the brand and the case study work. It’s been good and satisfying for my clients and me. Radically Distinct’s services have definitely been additive in raising awareness amongst the people that I’m interested in raising awareness with.
I’ve shared my new branding with one of my digital growth agency clients, and they didn’t have much to add. Jenn is great with coaching me on keeping marketing messaging simple and clear; I’m able to take that knowledge and use it with my own clients.
How did Radically Distinct perform from a project management standpoint?
Jenn is great with project management. We have share documents and have a Slack channel for communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There are relationships in your professional life that are catalysts to your growth. Jenn is that catalyst for me. She’s complimentary to me in the creative process, and she challenges me to create clear, simple messaging. The creative partner they have in terms of photography and visual layouts are great, too. Radically Distinct drives results that work.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In the past, fees could’ve been communicated better. Some of it was my fault, since I wasn’t great with keeping track of the dollar amounts. We’ve reached a better place now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to be willing to engage in that creative process. That’s where people will get the most out of it. It’s where Jenn’s niche really shines.

What challenge were you trying to address with Radically Distinct?
We retain Radically Distinct for marketing purposes.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Radically Distinct helps us with our marketing efforts. First, they built a new website for us. We had another website, but they were able to remake everything to go in my direction.
For our marketing efforts, I told them what I wanted to achieve because I needed their expertise. Radically Distinct laid out a marketing plan for us explaining the timeframes and the deliverables.
Now, they create all sorts of new marketing assets and programs to get our brand’s name out there in the community. They help us with our social media efforts and branding. They implement Google Ads, email campaigns, and marketing campaigns focused in specific market sectors like private business owners. Radically Distinct is getting Fulcrum Wealth Advisors’ name out in the world.
What is the team composition?
I work with three people: Jenn (Founder, CEO & Strategic Brand Marketer), who is the axis around which everything revolves, a tech person who implements all the technical elements, and finally, the person in charge of all of our copywriting.
How did you come to work with Radically Distinct?
We had a different company working for us, but we decided to become more professional. I was doing some research and found Radically Distinct via a referral from another person that had worked with them. They were able to take control of everything for a reasonable price, and our engagement has worked out really well.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $80,000–$100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I believe we started working together in the beginning of 2019, and the engagement is ongoing — I’m never getting rid of them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our revenue has shot up dramatically thanks to Radically Distinct’s efforts, which is wonderful. More than 50% of our revenue increase is attributable to their work. When we hired them, we had so much new business going on that we needed to retool our internal operations to handle that business. They’re just opening doors for us to go in and close deals — it’s money well spent.
How did Radically Distinct perform from a project management standpoint?
Radically Distinct has hit all the deliverables on time. There was actually one social media deliverable that they turned in ahead of time.
We communicate via Slack and Zoom. We have a lot of video chats and email exchanges. We also used to hold face-to-face meetings before COVID-19.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Radically Distinct knows the marketing business backwards and forwards.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything Radically Distinct could do differently — they’ve done a great job.
Any advice for potential customers?
Learn how to communicate your vision effectively. No marketing firm will know your business beforehand. Their job is to ask the appropriate questions that allow them to have a better understanding of what you do for a living, where does your revenue come from, and what distinguishes you from the rest of the market. If you help them with that, they’ll come up with a methodology that will allow them to work on that vision.

I worked with Jen, Xavier (Executive Producer, Sales Engineer & Sr. Copywriter), and Derek (Design Director). Xavier helped with sales and messaging, including copywriting. Derek did photography, videography, and graphic arts.

Jen reached out to me and introduced her company. I waited about six weeks before I approached her about working together. I looked at another company as well, but I selected Radically Distinct because of their proposal.

We started working together in April 2019. Our relationship is currently on hold because of the COVID-19 crisis. However, I’m planning to resume their services in the future.

They performed well. The team was timely and their work was thorough. We communicated weekly, and often more frequently than that in the first six months of our relationship.

They had a thoughtful plan and it was clear they were deliberate in their process. They were very professional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Due to some of the programs that Radically Distinct used, we ended up with a lot of leads on our lists that weren’t high quality. For example, the way the lists were generated was through people’s titles, but those titles don’t always directly relate to one’s status in the company.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Marketing is an art form that’s different for every business. It takes some time for a vendor to learn the ins and outs of your business in order to cater to your needs.

I’m the managing director & co-founder at Fulcrum Wealth Advisors. We’re an independent advisory firm in Bellevue, Washington.
What challenge were you trying to address with Radically Distinct?
We hired Radically Distinct to help with our marketing and position in the space.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team at Radically Distinct has helped with copy and content. They worked to understand some of the compliance issues and FCC regulations that people in our business face. After that, they helped to create a more vibrant website and a marketing process to drive people to that site.
Our team is good at generating a lot of our own content. We do a good amount of blogging and are skilled in money management and global economics. We needed to retain a partner that could get our message out there and get more assets under management.
We were dealing with a lot of strategies to find the right content for the groups we wanted to attract. We were marketing ourselves to people who own private companies, larger corporations, and charitable organizations. Radically Distinct developed a specific strategy for each one of those various segments and generate thought-provoking content.

I met Jenn through a referral from somebody that used to work here. What was intriguing to me about their team was that they could take hold of everything that we needed to get better established in this tech world.

Our engagement with Radically Distinct started in April 2019.

We’re just getting started with all of that. We plan on judging them by getting us new conversations with people we haven’t had conversations with before. There was a bit of an error when it came to selecting another company.
Jenn and I hired a company because we needed to move away from our current website provider to do the robust work that we wanted to do. The company botched up the project, so our project was delayed for about three months. Jenn decided she would do everything herself, so their team built an entire website, which is outside their normal scope of work.
We sent out a survey, and people seem to really like it. It’s cool, cutting-edge work.
How did Radically Distinct perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve performed great. All of their responsibilities have been hit on time. They were thrown a curveball with the website mishap, but they responded to it and fixed it. We mostly speak through phone calls and emails. I don’t interface with any specific project management tools. Jenn has done an excellent job keeping me on task.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I can just write a check and present a vision, then get out of their way to get stuff done. I’m not a marketer, so putting someone in place to confidently do that work is cool. I’m very happy with Radically Distinct.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing that comes to mind. It’s all been fairly seamless at this point.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Clients should communicate their vision and what they’re trying to achieve with them. Work with Radically Distinct as properly and efficiently as you possibly can.
