Was resonbile for creation and publication of online blog, earned media, and press release content spanning muliple brands and purchasing channels. Also responsible for all media pitching for earned media and/or press release content to trade and national media announcement. Managed the monthly content calendar and all associated creative/copywriting needed to support in addition to providing monthly metric and KPI reporting.

For social media, managed 5 brand social media presence across multiple platforms. Managed development of monthly content calendars and owned all tactical execution of creative and copywriting. Oversaw posting management and provided detailed monthly metric and KPI reporting.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

RPR developed a significant amount of meaningful block, earned media articles, and press releases used to raise awareness about our company and the products/services we offer withing the building materials trade sector in which we operate. Though our social media engagement was basic, the work to shore up our various accounts and get them updated and routinely fed with meaningful and timely content helped improve our overall web engagement and brand awareness.

RPR was extremely responsive and did an excellent job with project management. They are the type of agency who outruns the client in terms of timeliness and delivery and pushed vs us pushing them. Our dedicated account manager was amazing, super responsive and dug in deep to truly understand our business, products, and market to help inform more meaningful content development. Whenever we did have a concern, the CEO was always available and willing to work through all issues and find compromise where needed, but these moments were rare. They're a very special agency that has a great model, which is customer-centric and not the typical big agency approach.

Their level of care about our business and satisfaction and the high degree of initiative all team members's illustrated, from CEO down, to delivering value and an exceptional customer experience. Very thorough and a very talented team of experts who go the extra mile and really go deep with a client's brand, market, and products to become subject matter experts and communicate content to a wide variety of media audiences.

Are there any areas for improvement or something R Public Relations could have done differently?

No, when we did have a concern or issue, the CEO and her team were always quick and very willing to take constructive feedback and adjust. They also were not afraid to give us feedback on where needed to better to help them better support our needs.

This team never misses a deadline and continually are coming up with new ideas for brand awareness. Key deliverables have been introductions to other businesses, creating partnerships, finding growth opportunities, and partnering on events.

Our project sucess is measured by the amount of contacts and partnerships we have created in the community. We would not have been able to move forward without their expertise and network. We will continue to utilize this deal over the long-term. R PR is truly committed to their clients, which shows in their work!

R PR has a fantastic project management culture. The team is assigned based on their strengths to assist as needed, based on the deliverable. The team is always on time and responds regularly. We can reach out any time to the team with questions or items for discuss. We have a team meeting each week to go over progress and upcoming deliverables. Plus, the project is captured within their internal software, meeting minutes are regularly shared with agendas. The team is very organized and structured.

The team truly cares. None of the clients to R PR are just a client. The team engages and integrates with your company to drive real meaningful results. The team takes time to understand who we are as an organization and figures out what we are missing. Once the team has a direction, the sky is the limit. This is shown in their commitment to our success.

We’ve been in business for 12 years and want to make sure we stay front and center in customers’ minds.

What was the scope of their involvement?

R Public Relations helps strategize press and marketing for our restaurants. Their work isn’t tied to a specific campaign; we just want their help increasing sales and visibility. Initially, they had a meeting with our sole owner. I’ve also talked with them about our brand identity and niche in the industry. We’ve talked through what comparable brands were doing and how we want people in the neighborhood and community to see us. We want to make sure we’re in front of families, especially younger families.

They’ve written press releases and organized media events. They’ve helped put together statements for media and organized visits for advertisers and influencers. They’ve also helped brainstorm other branding and advertising strategies. R Public Relations has helped with our social media, but not ad buys.

Emily (Founder) reached out to us because she’s a fan of the restaurant. After talking to her about her work, we talked through our goals. We’d never had a PR relationship before, so I scouted small and large PR companies in the Nashville area. R Public Relations understood our brand the best and was significantly more cost-effective, so it was a win-win.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

R Public Relations has a lot of connections with media and influencers. We’ve done three TV spots so far, which have been really productive. We’ve gotten several other write-ups about the restaurants; I’ve been really happy with R Public Relations’ contacts. 

There’s a steady stream of media attention, which is nice because it’s not all at once; it’s not an overwhelming workload for us and provides steady exposure, which is good. Sometimes you let off a bunch of fireworks, which is great when it happens, but it goes away. When you have a constant presence, that means more to customers. 

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

R Public Relations’ project management has been great. They’ve also met deadlines and are flexible with internal communication; they set meetings that fit all our schedules. As far as product deadlines, including getting releases and statements to us, everything’s been timely. We don’t use any project management tools aside from a calendar.

What did you find most impressive about them?

R Public Relations has a very human touch while also offering really high-quality outputs. They’re very thoughtful, considerate, and passionate about what they do. They think critically about our needs and are creative in coming up with solutions to those problems. 

R Public Relations wants the best for us. It doesn’t feel like we’re just a client to them; it feels like we’re both teams working in the industry, and they want to solve our problems. R Public Relations is easy to work with, and they’re about half the cost of other agencies. To be so thoughtful and check in with us so regularly while charging half as much is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m very happy overall.

Find a PR agency that understands your business and can meet your needs. When you value thoughtfulness, creativity, and dedication, it makes sense to work with them. We’re not a huge restaurant chain, so I know they’re a great fit for smaller organizations, but I’m sure they could work with larger accounts too.

At the start of the project, I only used R Public Relations for marketing and exposure. Most of what they did was media-related, but I also wrote some content that was published in local magazines. R Public Relations was able to tie that content into releases for the local and global news. Three months into the project, I expanded the scope to include social media management.

I wasn't looking to reinvent the wheel — I knew I wanted a local company already active in the market.

I was able to get a lot of exposure in magazines thanks to R Public Relations' work. They were able to get my company noticed by local news networks too. 

How did R Public Relations perform from a project management standpoint?

R Public Relations had exceptional project management. We had Monday phone calls to discuss the previous week's metrics and if we met our expectations. I talked to my local contact once a week — if I ever needed anything from them, I could reach out, and they'd respond promptly. We usually communicated through emails and texts. R Public Relations was great at meeting my expectations. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

R Public Relations was client-driven. They understood exactly what I needed to accomplish and collaborated closely with me —- they put my needs and the company's needs first. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It is very hard to anticipate the next step in social media management because everything is constantly evolving and changing. There's a difference between engagement and engagement that leads to a positive ROI. When running social media marketing, it's important to sit down and address changes to each branch of social media and how they can be used. It is also important to understand the target audience. So, I wouldn't say it was a fault of R Public Relations, but I think they could've assigned a social media specialist that could be more hands-on with my project. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I signed a long agreement at a considerable fee expecting a significant ROI, but I didn't experience that. So, I'd recommend that anyone who plans to do business with R Public Relations start with a 90-day contract to evaluate the ROI and scale up from there.

We were familiar with the great work Emily and the RPR team did with other businesses in Nashville.

It began with a series of initial meetings to let Emily and the RPR team understand our goals, mission and brand voice. They developed an initial pitch plan to help us refine our messaging and create a timeline for media opportunities before and after our launch. We have on going calls with the RPR team to keep everyone on the same page as they continue to support our media strategy as we scale our business.

I work directly with Emily and Madison to support our account. They have also given me access to their copy writer for one off projects I’ve conducted as part of my business.

Our National press opportunities (digital publications and industry publications) have continued to come in steadily and as we are expanding to new markets, we are expanding our opportunities to be featured in local press (local news, online publications and magazines).

Communication is great. We receive weekly updates to where current projects stand in addition to our weekly call. The team is incredibly responsive to answering questions or providing information when asked.

Their willingness to really take time to learn and understand our business is impressive. They've brought new ideas to us for how to message our brand externally.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Email is their preferred communication but personally I’m a big fan of slack and wish we could use that more to ensure team members not on the weekly call / PR update emails are aware of external press conversations.
