Our goals were to build something more than a mock-up or an MVP. We wanted to build a compelling web platform that matched our brand standards, was able to be immediately monetized upon completion, and was scalable. PSDtoHUBSPOT executed and gave us more than we could imagine.

We consulted with some Company and PSDtoHUBSPOT ended up being the greatest quality for the lowest price (essential for a startup) and we went with them.

PSDtoHUBSPOT consulted with us and aligned themselves with our brand and vision so they could be on the exact same page as our executives. They recommended technology that would be the most efficient and powerful for the type of product we were offering. The project consisted of a few sales calls for the brand alignment, a proposition and timeline, and daily emails between myself and a couple of PSDtoHUBSPOT’ product managers, who led a small team of web developers and back-end engineers. They build our entire platform end-to-end (design, front-end, back-end, server, payment processing, and third party integrations). They added features and software architecture as appropriate to solve a variety of edge cases.

What was the team composition?

The team was composed 1 web designer, 2 front end engineers and 2 back end engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project has honestly put us 2 years ahead of the competition. The features and edge cases that were solved saved us the problems that would have been encountered in a production environment. I come from mobile engineering backgrounds so it would have taken us a while to build this on our own. PSDtoHUBSPOT did it in 2 months with a minimal amount of capital. This project allowed us to scale and most likely with allow us to grow our business’ valuation as a result of being able to monetize without additional funding.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had weekly call and daily emails and it was very efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed at the speed, cost, and talent that they have at PSDtoHUBSPOT. Their team is absolutely brilliant and they have a lot of high profile clients.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I will say that the time difference between San Francisco and India is a little tough on the communication side, but it still worked out very well. Nothing much comes in mind.

What were your goals for this project?

Because our agency is very visually focused, it was important that the images of our artists' work were front and center and that there were elegant designs and functionalities, for instance, animations that would emphasize but overpower or diminish the work of the artists. The way the images are displayed was beautifully done and the site operates seamlessly. Some of our artists are multi-disciplinary, so there were templates built to speak to their unique needs. You can navigate through the entirety of one project that an artist has and get the full effect of it in a way that feels continuous and in line with the rest of their work. The navigation of the imagery within each artist on a project-to-project basis was really powerful and effective for us.

I can say it was extremely powerful for us to launch the site because it gave a vision to this endeavor in a whole new way. It's not really quantifiable in metrics, but it's been invaluable. Just having someone staying on the site and navigating through multiple pages, multiple artists, and multiple images is a powerful metric for us. It has been pretty incredible and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Their project management throughout the entirety of the process was always extremely airtight, which is important when you embark with a partner in this kind of capacity. It's a good mix of self-direction and collaboration. They’re also very fluid with their communication, so I always have a clear idea of what items are being worked on and for how long.

More recently, we worked with them for revamping the top navigation menu of our website. Given our unique set of products and positioning, we needed a slightly detailed navigation.

When discussing with other developers and freelancers, the project was deemed too complicated and/or expensive. We did not wish to alter the design or scope of work, hence, we reached out to PSDtoHUBSPOT.

We have a suite of 6 products, which sometimes becomes too much to explain to a website visitor in one go. As a result, we wanted to set up a top navigation menu that had a slightly complex design (from a developer's point-of-view).

This top navigation would group our product pages and other marketing pages in easily understandable buckets, making it easy for users to understand the purpose of each page and to navigate from one page to another.

We also wanted to make this reflect on mobile devices, where the design was slightly more challenging.

We had worked with PSDtoHUBSPOT on an earlier project. When our existing group of vendors we work with deemed the project too complicated, we reached out to them again.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It has just been one day since the new navigation has been deployed. However, we hope that the conversion rate of our website grows because of this. Since deployment, we've seen a spike in the conversion rate. However, we will have to wait and see if this trend continues.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I got on an introductory call with the two team members. Following this, there was barely any need for communication. Once the first draft came out, I marked the changes required on an excel sheet, and they were taken care of very quickly. It was very effective and took minimal effort from my side.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They bring a lot of HubSpot development experience, which is not common with most vendors. They are also very efficient communicators, which makes life easy as a client. The work they share is tested at their end, which means you do not waste time in finding dozens of issues and explaining it to them, which is again a common issue with a lot of freelancers and agencies.
