Challenge

A regional senior care living facility with a good reputation was struggling to find new ways to gain the proper brand exposure through advertising efforts.  They were already doing Google Ads, SEO, and even TV Advertising in the local communities.  They knew there needed to be a more direct approach to reaching loved ones or senior ready to physically transition into a senior care community. 

After learning about geofencing marketing, they requested our team at Propellant Media put together a comprehensive digital gameplan that would help them drive walk in foot traffic, inquiries and tours of their facilities.

Solution

From the 4 plus senior care living locations we initially focused on driving foot traffic to, we created a geofencing campaign targeting ER’s, hospitals, and other core locations that became a natural transition point for seniors needing assisted living care.  We targeted over 15 – 20 locations per each individual senior care facility. 

Results

Over the first few months of the campaign, the results have been both powerful and encouraging to our team.  Our team found a minimum of 60 tours/walk-ins attributed to the geofencing marketing campaign we ran in driving brand awareness and walk-in’s to their facilities.  And that was over a 30 day period.  As we continue the campaign for this client, we will naturally see a reduction in cost per visit.

A mayoral candidate in Birmingham, Alabama began his journey to unseat a two-term mayor who had been in government since the late 1980’s.  The challenger knew he had to do things a little differently, show he is listening to the voters while sharing his message with everyone willing to listen.  He also needed to leverage a less cost effective strategy for fundraising, garnering volunteers, ultimately winning the support of

Birmingham constituents.  

SOLUTION

Our team implemented a 5 prong strategy.  We geofenced 2 colleges in Birmingham, utilized our CRM technology to serve Ads to high propensity voters we retrieved from our voter file list, implemented site retargeting so we could continue speaking to those who were thinking about his candidacy, utilized the same voter file to target those same constituents on Facebook/Instagram, and utilized video spots to create more of a persuasive argument for the candidate.

Result (Polled 14% To 59%)

When our team engaged with the candidate, he was polling in third place at 14% while the 2-term incumbent was at 54%.  During the first runoff election, our client ended at 41% while the incumbent finished at 37%.  During the second runoff between the two, our client finished at 58% while the incumbent finished at 41%.  The campaign manager told us, “they were concerned about a lot of things during the campaign, but never digital.  Our campaigns were an integral part to winning this election for mayor.”

This University was trying to increase applications and awareness for their fall MBA program and was struggling to find a partner who could achieve a CPA of $200 within the desired DMAs. They enlisted the help of our team to reach the target audience online and drive qualified applications for the fall semester.

SOLUTION

Our team developed a comprehensive

strategy to reach an engaged and qualified audience near the six campus locations. Search Retargeting was key in enabling this advertiser to reach new customers and serve
customized ads based on the campus closest to the user. Our team’s multivariate optimization algorithm combined with human optimizations helped drive down the CPA and increase CTR.

RESULTS

Situation

A local pub in Canada was tired of the past marketing strategies they implemented. They utilized social media, direct media, and even billboard advertising. As a 20 year old restaurant, the company became a stable in the area, but tourists and locals are always looking for new spots and options to choose from.

Action

The client specifically wanted to target 10

– 15 local hotels and tourist areas that was within walking distance to 1 mile from the restaurant. So the team at Propellant Media created a high targeted geofencing plan that included some site retargeting and geofencing advertising.

We also placed a conversion zone around the client’s restaurant so we could measure foot traffic back to their location. So say the least, we all didn’t expect the results after just 5 days of advertising.

Results

Over the course of 5 days, the campaign drove over 70 restaurants visitors from the tourist areas and hotels at an average cost per visit of $5.00. In addition, our team was able to compare the restaurant’s natural foot traffic from those same areas (those people who never saw their ads) to the campaign foot traffic (the people who saw their ads and came back to their restaurant).

Over the course of 5 days, the client experienced a 300% increase in foot traffic from those geofenced locations.

An orthopedic hospital with six locations was looking to increase the number of phone calls they received as well as improve their brand awareness. Measuring foot traffic was another important metric they could measure through their other media channels including Billboard TV, and Print and even paid media.

They enlisted the help of our team to utilize unique targeting capabilities to

reach both the desired audience and improve their CPA.

Solution

Our team developed a comprehensive strategy to target and convert the specified audience using geo-fence targeting. We decided to targeted places where people get hurt often such as job sites, Lowe’s of the world, sports facilities and even some competitive conquesting where we are targeting our competitor locations.

With the quick learning from the campaign launch, our team was able to optimize targeting by blacklisting specific websites. Moreover, we create conversion zones around each orthopedic hospital location to track conversions from our geo-fencing. We then built geo-fences around locations specified by the company.

Results

Through our multiple tactics and optimizations, we were able to deliver an average CPA of $2.27 and deliver 1,670 actions (times in which people saw or clicked on the ads and then visited one of the hospital’s physical locations) within a month.

Our CTR for this campaign was .1816%, which far exceeds the industry average CTR of .1%.

Within 1 day, the Propellant Media Team developed a comprehensive strategy of geo-optimization. Our team built geo-fences around competitor locations specified by the car dealership and placed a conversion zone around their store front to measure foot traffic back to their car dealership.

In some cases these might be short-term pilots to test and determine if these are viable channels for a client. We wanted to reach qualified recipients for our customer products and services. Along with, driving traffic into locations and the website. We needed Propellant Media to provide detailed reporting and optimize their marketing strategies.

Propellant Media was found because of their reviews. We had several phone conversations with different vendors. After interviewing a few providers, we decided on Propellant Media.

Propellant Media provided us with information and guided us in the process. The material was detail-oriented. They gave sales ideas and ways to implement them.

What was the team composition?

We worked closely with their senior director. He orchestrated all of the moving components.

As a trusted business partner, Justin and his team help review and analyze campaign results and develop action items to deliver short-term and long-term improvements.

I work directly with Justin because of our existing relationship. They also assign a team to each of my projects to manage day-to-day tasks.

My client met their admission goal two years in a row, and I was able to show them exactly how many people came into their office after viewing or clicking on Propellant Media’s ads.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Omnitized, a digital marketing agency. We specialize in paid search, SEO, programmatic display, programmatic video, social media, targeted Facebook ads, reputation management, recruitment specialists, and anything to do with digital marketing.

What challenge were you trying to address with Propellant Media?

We needed help with programmatic marketing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle almost all of our programmatic display and video campaigns, especially in terms of geofencing, which is targeting specific locations. It’s location-based advertising that markets to people on their mobile devices when they walk in and out of a particular GPS coordinate or within a shape that we can draw on Google Maps. They do contextual advertising and behavioral marketing as well.

What is the team composition?

I work with Justin (Managing Partner, Propellant Media) because we’re both the owners of our companies. When it gets down to the granular marketing needs of our clients, I work with Brent (Vice President, Propellant Media) who has been outstanding.

How did you come to work with Propellant Media?

We reached out to a programmatic display advertising network called Simplify, but we didn’t reach their minimum client load as we were so new. Propellant Media had a relationship with Simplify that would allow us to work through them with smaller buys until then. Though we’ve reached the minimums, we continue to work with Justin and his team because they’re very thorough, super professional, and we really like the results.

Propellant Media immediately they understood precisely what the goals and the missions of what our campaigns were going to do for our clients. The general care that they have given us and the speed at which they work is wonderful. When it comes to goals, lead acquisitions, impression shares, or targeting, they know it better than anyone. It’s been a pleasure to work with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2017, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve added a whole new line of business to our company, helping us acquire clients that are looking for some of these programmatic options. That, in turn, leads to other services, including social media management, reputation management, and SEO. In some instances, they’ve helped us launch good trustworthy, productive, progressive, and successful campaigns for new clients.

We trust them with some of our long-time clients, as well as our more newly-acquired clients; huge brands and names. They’ve been outstanding in execution.

How did Propellant Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They make sure that we track and tag everything properly. Brent is very quick to respond, and they’ve all been fantastic; much faster than anyone at any other agency I’ve dealt with. They also give recommendations on creative, targets, timelines, and technical elements. It works in the best interest of our agency, our clients, and is good business. We love to lean on them when it comes to these kinds of campaigns, as they’re outstanding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of the digital marketing space is so crucial, which leads back into their speed and ability to meet deadlines. On the execution side, they are nimble and able to change things on the fly, while adding value to our campaigns.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like to provide some constructive feedback, but they really know what they’re doing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Allow the agency to be nimble—we work in a fast-paced environment, looking at real-time analytics and data. If the digital marketing agency can make decisions on their client’s behalf, they will succeed at far greater distances.
