Am the Chief Technology Advisor for a skincare company- and assisted the founders in the 360 degrees perspective in selecting the vendors and technology platforms, to design, build and delivering the platform into production.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The internal team compared 3 different vendors and chose prologic on the basis of their superior technology platform solution offering, previous experience in the healthcare space in delivering Managed IT web/mobile applications on HIPAA compliant platforms.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The internal team consisted of building the BRD and wire frames, Solutions design, Architecture design, Choice of technology components, Build of the staging platform on the AWS platform, development of the web and mobile applications and deployment on the staging platform, selection of the Prod HIPAA compliant providers, deploying the applications on the Prod tier and going live.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Prologic Founder - Rajiv was the main POC.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had a very pleasurable journey through all the phases with Prologic. We barely had any slips in the schedule and Rajiv and team kept the internal team completely informed on the upcoming steps during the entire course of the program.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their knowledge in the domain, ability to guide the internal team in the selection of appropriate tools/technology, timely delivery and attention to detail.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Given the budget constraints the internal team started this offering with, Prologic did a phenomenal delivery of the whole platform as expected.

I’m the CEO and founder of Shop Tomorrows, a nationwide network for trading up kidswear.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prologic Technologies?

I needed to build a whole technology platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project was originally going to be an application, and we already had wireframe designs. Prologic Technologies took them to build a very well-functioning peer-to-peer marketplace platform from scratch.

What is the team composition?

Rajiv (Founder & CEO) is my main point of contact and our head of technology. I also work with Sunny (Sr. Software Engineer & Team Lead). There are 2–3 more people who have worked on the site, but I haven’t talked to any of them. 

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

Prologic Technologies were highly recommended by a tech entrepreneur in the United States who also led a UI/UX design firm and worked with Rajiv. I trusted him very much, so I decided to speak to Prologic Technologies.

In the beginning, it was clear that Rajiv was thoughtful, and I could trust him to build what I needed based on the recommendation and their previous work. His price was also very fair.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $50,000–$70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Prologic Technologies in December 2020, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re interested in user feedback, including if the app is or isn’t working. However, we haven’t been driven by metrics yet, but we certainly need to. 

It has been very helpful to bring in Prologic Technologies who helps me work, lead, and manage my team. Sometimes, I’m running out of time and couldn’t do it on my own.

How did Prologic Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Prologic Technologies always meets deadlines, but sometimes, the lead engineer rushes his work to finish on time. I tell Rajiv that I prefer they take more time to review the work instead of promising a quick delivery. Overall, it’s been a success.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The ability to do good work at a reasonable budget with a fast turnaround has been the most exceptional aspect of Prologic Technologies. Rajiv is an amazing boss and business leader. He understands the importance of customer success and nurturing his clients. 

Whenever I need to speak with Rajiv, he’s available and very generous with his time, even with time differences. As a business owner, he knows I’m new to technology and business, and he has been patient with me. It has been great to work with somebody like him.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish that Prologic Technologies would be a more thoughtful partner regarding the technology when a technical issue arises. There have been times when I don’t know how to manage the expectation of the workflow, and it has been a little bit frustrating. Since they’re technicians, I wish they could anticipate what would happen. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Potential customers need to see the tech team as what they are: implementers. They aren’t designers or strategists — Prologic Technologies needs to have their own UI/UX designers. It’s also important to understand that they can’t think through all the steps — don’t rely on the outsourced team to be doing all the thinking and development.

I'm the president of Illustrated Media Group and we came out of the comic book world and provide entertainment content.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prologic Technologies?

We needed someone to build a new website; our previous one was very crowded and dated, and we wanted to get rid of all the clutter. We also wanted to highlight that my partner was the former editor-in-chief of Marvel. When people looked at our website, I wanted people to quickly pick up on the impact of his work. 

If we were pitching to a studio or a streaming service and they didn’t know who we were, I wanted it so when they went to our website, they’d immediately see his achievements when he was with Marvel, like co-creating of the Transformers universe and coming up with the major elements of the comics.

Furthermore, our original website reflected an older business model — when we first started, we wanted to do comics for marketing or create informational pamphlets for kids in doctors’ offices and so on. We ended up doing more entertainment work and getting hired by other comic book companies to do stories, so we wanted to basically throw away our old site and build a new one.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prologic Technologies developed a completely new site for us that was built from scratch on WordPress. The website highlighted our achievements and our properties. To show off our illustrated work, they created a gallery section, too. 

My partner also had a blog and he was very particular about the look and feel of it, so we asked Prologic Technologies to work on that, as well. He didn’t want people to have to click on a button to see the whole post and the comments, so they redesigned his blog to have the latest post on the homepage in its entirety with all the comments at the bottom.

What is the team composition?

I only worked directly with one person, Rajiv (CEO). He gave assignments to other people on his team and he would tell me who’s working on what, but he was my only point of contact.

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

A few years ago, we were working for a different company and we needed a website developer. I don't know how we found Prologic Technologies, but they ended up building out the site. The project didn't take off because the company never went forward, but the website was built quickly and efficiently. 

We initially hired a mutual friend and he wasn’t able to deliver what we wanted, so we were in a bit of a time crunch — there were some articles coming out about my partner and we wanted to take advantage of the press. We needed it done in about four months and I remembered Rajiv, so I contacted him. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from August–December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In terms of what they delivered, I'm extremely happy with the design. It looks like a contemporary site; they got rid of the clutter and included the features that I wanted. The gallery section where we show our portfolio is well-functioning and is able to show high-resolution images while also loading quickly. The blog they designed for my partner also came out the way he wanted it.

We haven’t gone live yet, so we don't have any metrics in terms of visits and so on. We’re waiting for our designer to tweak a little bit and we have yet to add all our works to our gallery. We're having some artists create new work because we want to impress, so we haven't gone live. 

How did Prologic Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They communicated well. If we sent them something, they usually would get back to us the next day. I've dealt with people locally who don’t even call back for five days — Prologic Technologies was miles from me and they would return my calls immediately.

We mostly used Zoom to communicate. At the start of the project, we had a few calls where I explained what we were looking for and it went well — they’re a foreign company, but there was no language issue at all and they spoke English very fluently. 

There were delays, but it was on my side. Certain design elements, like fonts and the colors of some sections, were created by our own web designer, and we handled some of the tweaks, which took time. I really can't think of a time that Rajiv wasn’t on time — if we assigned everything to his team, the site probably would have been done in a month.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed by the accuracy of their work. We had a vision of how we wanted the website to look and it actually came out that way, so we know they really paid attention.

The turnaround time was also amazing. I’d tell him what we were looking for and they’d have it done in a day. If not, they were very transparent and would let us know if they needed another day or two. If there was a correction to be made, his team got it done right away. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything they could improve. It wasn't the most complicated website, but they managed to build exactly what I wanted, so I can't think of a negative. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would absolutely say hire them and don’t be wary of working with a foreign company — we found them to be more reliable than developers we’ve worked with locally.

They are trustworthy, professional, and transparent with the work they do. Take advantage of Zoom and have face-to-face calls, and take the time to explain what you want in detail and it will come back the way it was described.

I’m the founder and CEO of Gotcha Mobile Solutions, which is both a digital agency and a software company. We build proprietary solutions on our own platform and offer them to clients through a large distribution channel.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prologic Technologies? 

When I first launched my business, I really didn't know anything about development. I initially brought on Prologic Technologies to build my first website. Shortly afterward, I ran into problems with my third-party platform partner. I decided I needed to develop my own platform. I had to build it quickly because I had hundreds of clients on my platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prologic Technologies built, from scratch, a new platform with features and software products in about three weeks. They were also able to help me migrate all of my clients over. The tech stack they used is KPHP as a framework. It was a typical server configuration on Apache servers and MySQL database. They configured the platform to consist of multi-tiered permissions for distributors and their clients. 

The first solution that Prologic Technologies did was a QR code dashboard, which I still use to this day. They built web applications as the destination when a customer scans a QR code. They created a digital prize wheel, a scavenger hunt game, and a scan-to-win game. I did several other projects with them from that point forward, including heavy integration of APIs and some tricky automatic login functions.

What is the team composition? 

My main contact was Rajiv (Founder & CEO, Prologic Technologies). Two developers were permanently assigned to my team, and two others floated in and out based on demand. We also worked with frontend developers and QA specialists as needed.  

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

I was connected to them through an intermediary company.

How much have you invested with them?

I don’t remember exactly. It was probably in the range of $25,000–$30,000 a year.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We started working together in early 2011 and the engagement lasted 2–3 years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve had big national companies use our products for team building programs. The small investment that I made at the beginning has allowed me to grow into a multi-million dollar business. I honestly believe that I would not be in the business I'm in today had I not met Prologic Technologies. I was able to leverage their low rates, expertise, and dedication to springboard to where I am now. I no longer use them because I transitioned to full-time employees. That arrangement just works better for my current configuration but isn’t a reflection on my feelings about their performance.

How did Prologic Technologies perform from a project management standpoint? 

Their communication was pretty amazing. They initially used email for project management. As they got more sophisticated, they transitioned to a ticketing system. Rajiv was great at understanding what I was looking for. I didn't even deliver specs as much as I gave him an idea of what I wanted. His ability to break it down into workable tasks was phenomenal. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

What they said matched up to what they were able to do. All agencies know the right things to say and the right buttons to push, but the delivery always falls short. I learned the hard way that you can't trust what an agency says they’ll do. Prologic Technologies actually delivered more than I expected. In fact, they gave me more than I realized I had the right to ask for. I've dealt with hundreds of outsourced companies, and they really were one of a kind. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

No, I don't. It's been a while since I've worked with them, but I imagine Rajiv continues to do a good job at finding the right people and having strong processes in place.

I’m the CTO of a media company that runs Talk to Santa, an interactive live video chat with Santa Claus at Christmas time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prologic Technologies?

We needed a partner to build the website and all the technology for our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prologic Technologies did web dev, web design, and app design for iOS and Android. They built the product for all browsers, using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL. Everything is hosted on Amazon’s server, and they used TokBox and WebRTC for video conferencing and e-commerce. They also provided a database integration with MailChimp, allowing us to email our customers reminders, receipts, and privacy statements. The product accepts credit cards and enables us to sell gift cards to our customers, as well.

What is the team composition?

They provided a team of 12, including a project manager, developers, designers, and testers.

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

I researched TokBox and found that Prologic Technologies was one of their top companies. I discussed our project with them and about a dozen other firms, and they had the skill set and met my budget, so I hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July–November 2015.

They fixed any bugs that popped up, and everybody who used the app loved it.

They were always available whenever we needed them and incredibly responsive.

They proactively accomplished everything, often doing more than what we asked. The project scope changed a few times, but they were flexible and adjusted to the new tasks.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be aware of the time difference; for us, it was 12 hours.

I’m the founder and CEO of an online telemedicine platform.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Prologic Technologies?

We were looking for someone to work on an e-platform almost from scratch. We had designs already engaged Prologic Technologies from almost the very beginning.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used WebRTC to establish a video conference platform that has recording and all the features necessary for video conferencing, including associated administrative and security controls. We did a lot of the design in-house, but they were actively involved in the process. They gave feedback and opinions and contributed to the design.

Our relationship is such that we can describe the design to them and they program it. They’re a smart group. Whenever they find more efficient or less expensive options, they bring them to our attention. They provide great feedback and took our designs in smart directions to create our platform.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager and the CEO of the company. We’ve worked with a large number of developers over time. As the platform grows, so does the team size.

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

We found them on a sourcing website. They had good ratings and struck us as a smart choice.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in early 2014. They gave us feedback and starting programming mid-2014. The relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve helped us move faster, smarter, and cheaper. They brought our active functionality to market about a year ahead of schedule and we get positive feedback on the look and feel of the platform.

A lot of the design features are our own, but they’ve contributed to the design and functionality. It’s very much a partnership. We have tens of thousands of lines of code that have gotten very complex over time. Even small tweaks at this point affect multiple elements. They’ve done a very good job anticipating how changes will affect other parts of the system. They help us work through our modifications and come up with intelligent ways to achieve our end goals within the context of extremely complex programming. A lot of this has never been done before and they do an excellent job protecting our company.

How did Prologic Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m happy with their level of documentation and availability. They were very involved and responsive. They proposed a variety of communication platforms and mechanisms to speak through. We used a few of them, but those channels have changed over time. They’re very flexible and intelligent about their suggestions and sensitive to the fact that we want to spend more time working on the project and less time inside a project management system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're intelligent they're smart about what they do. They're proactive and anticipate things in advance to avoid issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is not a criticism, but the best thing for them is to continue building their shop. As our company builds up, we'll absolutely continue to use them. We look forward to seeing the additional depth of resources as they continue to grow.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prologic has worked on many projects for us, helping to support our technology stacks for the backend development of website and software projects. Over the years, they've worked on many different technologies, including PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, C++, HTML5, Angular, Python, and Ruby on Rails.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with our project manager, who manages other developers in the background.

How did you come to work with Prologic Technologies?

We came across them on UpWork after having worked with a handful of other developers that we weren't happy with. After working on an initial project with Prologic, we were very happy with their work and haven't looked back since.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since June 2010.

It's been a huge cost benefit for us to work with a team in India that provides high-quality work for a fraction of what vendors charge locally. Thanks to their support, we're able to take on more and larger projects as a company. Whenever bugs or issues come up, they've been quick to resolve them.

They're fantastic. We can easily reach them through phone, Basecamp, or by Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're phenomenal at communicating and staying on top of tasks.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to be clear and understanding of the project requirements upfront, providing their team with as much information and ideas as possible on how to approach each project. The more precise the requirements are, the better their team will be able to execute them.
