A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re an educational medical supplier, and I am the vice president of the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Prolitus?
We were trying to switch our order management system over to more of an ERP-based system.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I did an analysis on the software that would be best for us and chose Odoo. As we reviewed Odoo consultants, we found that working with Nitesh [Sharma, ERP Solution Architect] and his team at Prolitus would be very productive for us in terms of getting answers and solutions to our problems.
It’s a Python-based community, open-source software that they tailor to our needs. We ended up going with the enterprise version. We were working with four people from Prolitus, and Nitesh was the liaison between us and his programmers, who would also sit in on phone calls at times. He’s also introduced me to another gentleman to act as liaison in case Nitesh isn’t available. They were very good at having coverage. They take our demands and run with them, and it works out pretty well.
We’re adding the ability to send out RFQ’s prior to having sales orders created. We can quote out products we buy from multiple vendors prior to quoting a customer, enabling us to provide our customer with a better price. We have all sorts of ideas in the pipeline for building out our website, as we’re going to eventually use Odoo for our website solution as well.
How did you come to work with Prolitus?
We chose them based on their value and expertise. A lot of time, you pay for what you get, and they’re well worth what they charge. Being a small business with a limited budget, that was very attractive for us. The whole purpose of finding a partner like Prolitus is to use them as a springboard to leap into the upper echelons of where you want to be versus where you are.
How much have you invested with Prolitus?
We’ve invested upwards of $5,000. It’s probably more than we wanted to spend, but the benefits are clear. The streamlining of business processes on your own system, you get to create your own microcosm of what you need to make your life easier.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November of 2016, and the relationship is ongoing. We’re now tailoring the software to our needs specifically. It’s a very arduous, ongoing process for us to get it into the fighting shape we should be in.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The system works very well and it keeps track of a lot of things we were tracking manually before. It enables us to quickly view the whole scope of an order. I think it’s very useful in terms of increasing our efficiency and cutting down on the time it takes us to find things. Now that the process is automated, we have more time to devote to other projects.
How did Prolitus perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated by email and Skype. We do lots of screen-sharing, which is really easy. They can see the problem we’re having and then recreate it and give us a solution. They’re 100% responsive to our inquiries and questions, regardless of the time. We never experienced difficulties with the time zone difference.
What did you find most impressive about Prolitus?
I appreciate that Nitesh says, “Anything is possible. Just tell me what you need me to do.” They’re not afraid of any request you might throw at them. There’s no scope too large for them.
Are there any areas Prolitus could improve?
Not really. I don’t have anything.
Do you have any advice or suggestions for potential clients?
Take your time and pick the right one. Give people some sort of a path toward the larger project, so you get a chance to work with them, and you’re not committed to a solution you don’t like. Maybe have someone present their intended solution for you first, and let you look at their deck of cards before you play your hand. That way, you’re not committed to someone who’s bringing you the wrong solution, which is basically a dead-end road.

Software Dev for IT Services
“Prolitus Technologies managed to deliver within a short period of time, which was the most impressive thing for me.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are an IT services company serving small and medium customers in Belgium. Most of our clients have between 5 and 200 employees. We assist them with infrastructure and software development projects, for which we handle project management.
What challenge were you trying to address with Prolitus Technologies?
A few of our customers are using an open-source enterprise resource planning system called Odoo. We needed development for user management, reporting, and time registration functionalities. There is a limited number of partners in Belgium who can react quickly to our needs, so we contacted Prolitus Technologies.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Prolitus Technologies has developed non-standard modules for the Odoo ERP, including modules and reporting functionalities for the user management system. They have created connections between the client’s mobile framework and the ERP, as well as different visualization, filters, and highlighting functionalities. They were able to finalize the job within a few weeks of our initial meeting.
They have provided additional development on an ongoing basis. Prolitus Technologies also worked on a PHP and MySQL pricing tool for one of our customers. We have used two developers for the Odoo module and communicated with a project manager. It was a good process for us.
How did you come to work with Prolitus Technologies?
I made some online research for teams with skills in Odoo development. I found Prolitus Technologies on Guru.com, read some reviews, and decided to choose them. I also contacted a firm in India, but Prolitus had the best skills for our task. Also, a quick reaction time was very important to us.
How much have you invested with Prolitus Technologies?
The cost was between €4,000 and €5,000 [$4,486 and $5,606].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Prolitus Technologies at the beginning of December 2016. The project is finished, but we will need new implementations in a few weeks, so we plan to contact Prolitus Technologies again.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The work was done on behalf of a customer. Due in part to the extra functionalities written by Prolitus Technologies on top of the existing modules, we managed to obtain an ISO 9001 & 14001 certification. They performed well, and we have hired them again since then for additional work. I don’t know if Prolitus Technologies is the best company on the market, but they managed to deliver the work in a short timeframe and with a good rate. They’re a good company to work with.
How did Prolitus Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
I think they performed well. I communicated daily with Prolitus Technologies’ team, and their management ensured that the job would get done. Even if we’re not speaking the same language, we’ve managed to reach an agreement and understand each other well.
What did you find most impressive about Prolitus Technologies?
Prolitus Technologies managed to deliver within a short period of time, which was the most impressive thing for me. I can read code and determine if something is wrong, but I’m not a developer myself, so I can’t comment on Prolitus Technologies’ abilities in this sense. They’ve solved our problems quickly and had good communication.
Are there any areas Prolitus Technologies could improve?
They could improve in terms of creativity. I have a lot of experience in IT, and I know how businesses work, but some of the younger developers don’t have as much experience with the European industry. In our case, understanding business development elements was important because we were working with an existing ERP. We understand each other better than before, so, if I ask for additional development on a particular function, they will know what I mean.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Prolitus Technologies?
If someone is looking to start a project with Prolitus Technologies, they need to define it well. Having a good overview will allow them to deliver fast and in a good way.
The ERP has significantly streamlined and digitized operations, leading to overall increased efficiency. Prolitus uses screen-sharing to solve issues instantaneously. The team is eager to take on challenging tasks. There has never been an issue with time zones; someone is always accessible.
