Meyers Manx
Hailed as the original dune buggy company, Meyers Manx was established in 1964 when hot rod enthusiast, Bruce Meyers, decided to create a new fiberglass body style on top of a VW Beetle frame and engine. Since then, Manx has been the epitome of cool, with thousands of companies imitating their original look.
They wanted to do a site migration from Wordpress to Shopify and do a complete overhaul of the website's look and feel. We worked with their designer to create this beautiful editorial style layout that is both simple and efficient for customers. We also built a dune buggy configurator for them so that customers can order a complete dune buggy kit with options straight from the website. We are really thrilled with the results of this project!

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the owners of Atlas Headrest, a furniture manufacturer. Our most noteworthy product is a headrest for the Aeron chair. We’re located in Michigan, the office furniture mecca of the world.
What challenge were you trying to address with Project Parachute?
Our old website was hosted on GoDaddy, and it was using WordPress and Ecwid, a shopping cart software. The site was clunky, unresponsive, and outdated. We needed help in developing a new website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Project Parachute rebuilt our website from the ground up using Shopify. They started with a consultation meeting where we discussed the functionalities we wanted for our website. We scoped out the different pieces of the project.
Project Parachute worked with our creative team to produce new content and copy for our website. They completely reimagined our website, and they future-proofed it for new products.
After that, we determined what type of theme we wanted to integrate into Shopify since the platform was very customizable. Project Parachute directed us towards options that were in line with what we were looking to achieve. We chose a theme, and they added that to our site. They continued implementing improvements in colors, fonts, and other branding assets.
Project Parachute followed through by developing wireframes for other functionalities, including product pages, a review page, a frequently asked questions page, legal pages, a contact information page, a dealer-specific log-in page, and many others.
We’ve already launched the new website, but Project Parachute still provides us with site updates and changes. Shopify is easy to customize, even for a layperson. That said, we want to have Project Parachute’s expertise whenever we’re looking for a solution.
What is the team composition?
I work primarily with Jeremy (E-Commerce & Marketing Consultant), and he’s my point of contact. He manages all of the communication updates and other tasks.
How did you come to work with Project Parachute?
I was looking for a partner across Upwork and Fiverr, but I haven’t found anyone that stood out. A friend working with Project Parachute gave them such a glowing review and recommended them to me, so I decided to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere between $5,000–$10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2021, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The usability and speed of our website have significantly improved, and our conversion rates have increased. The new platform looks fresh and modern; it allows us to sell more efficiently to our customers. I consider our work with Project Parachute a huge success.
How did Project Parachute perform from a project management standpoint?
Project Parachute has reimagined and built our website from scratch in just 4–6 weeks; their project management is phenomenal. They’ve followed their timelines and submitted deliverables as scheduled. Additionally, they are flexible whenever they need to monitor a new function and stay up all night.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Project Parachute’s knowledge and understanding of Shopify is impressive. It’s comforting to know that we’re working with a knowledgeable and experienced expert.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re decisive and have direction, they will deliver what you’re looking for on time. Come prepared because they’re going to execute quickly. Be organized on your end and prepare your copy and other assets — Project Parachute will ask for them sooner than you expect.
Project Parachute’s work has improved the site’s usability and speed, increasing conversion rates and sales. Their phenomenal project management has allowed them to build the site in just six weeks. Future customers can expect impressive Shopify expertise from their flexible and agile team.
