Our website was on Magento 1 and due to card changes we were forced to change to another platform and decided on migration to Magento 2. However we had an inbuilt custom design module which could not be altered or easily migrated, or added to in order to add new designs.
Brushyourideas were the only company we found internationally who were able to do the migration of the old data from M1 to M2 as a test and also able to build the bespoke designer in a way we wanted it done with alterations to the standard design. We approached a similar US company and one other and none managed a trial migration, though they had bespoke designer modules. Also their designer modules would not create editable files for printing, just set files that could not be altered once designed by the customer.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched online and as above mentioned that Brushyourideas were the only company capable of doing this at a reasonable cost and with much more ease than others which gave confidence in their abilities upfront.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a kick off meeting and showed them what we wanted in terms of bespoke designer functionality, including a major factor for us being the usability. For our customers, mostly parents of school children, they wanted no fuss, easy to use and intuitive so we scaled back many of the additional options that were available such as being able to load a bespoke image, or being able to drag the text to the size wanted etc. That was too complicated for our users and particularly on mobile.
We agreed a wireframe of the layout and look and then we agreed just move all the Magento 1 data across. We also looked at speed of the site and implemented some module changes to improve speed. They recommended a few extras for that which have worked well. We agreed a way to work that was useful for us so less emails flying about and we worked via a Trello board for tickets. Very pleased with the team.

We worked with up to 8 at one stage but had a sales support manager for extra credits after the build, initial completion was Sept 2021 but we continued on with support credits to make some further improvements for mobile. We also had project manager and number 2 to the manager, then the team working on various tickets.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Due to Covid we were adversely affected as our 3 markets closed during 2 years however we still managed to greatly improve conversions, optimisation, usability for mobile and speed and as a result we have managed to have a successful sale of the business in 2022 to a new owner who plans to continue work on the site and growth post Covid with Brushyourideas help.

Communication was initially a problem due to language and Indian communication methods with customers being different to the UK. We therefore agreed to use skype for urgent assistance notifications, and a Trello board, instead of tonnes of emails and spreadsheets for managing the project and this worked very well.
At the key deliverables stage we initiated google meets weekly to discuss outstanding tickets and priorities and show on screen views of what was happening at our end on some products so they could be fixed the way we needed them resolved.

Brush Your Ideas helped us develop a design tool that our clients could engage with. It was a full product for printing purposes and it served as a service optimization for our online customers. Our purpose was to provide the same product that we had in our physical stores.
In addition, the team helped us fix several bugs on our existing Magento website. They took the work we had already done and fixed and improved it. The team continues to update our tool and work on our website.
What is the team composition?
We're working with at least six people working such as a sales representative, a programmer, a web designer, and two people from the IT team. Then, their second team has a project coordinator and two people in charge of security and server configuration.
How did you come to work with Brush Your Ideas?
Another company created our website from scratch, but they were slow and weren’t professional enough. As a result, we looked for similar companies with Magento experience on Clutch, and we found Brush Your Ideas. We evaluated their reviews and previous work.
On top of that, they were very professional and the websites they had created worked perfectly without any bugs. Due to that, we felt that they were reliable. We started working together in November 2021 and we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’re fast, reliable, and haven’t failed us at any time. The project hasn’t been completed yet, but I’m very satisfied with their work. The things I really wanted are already working and we’ve been selling online since February. They’ve also fixed all the bugs and stayed in touch with me.
Our physical stores already get around 15,000 clients per month, but we do get a lot of engagement from our loyal clients that are using our website. We’re also getting new clients and our local engagement is huge. National engagement is also starting to grow and will grow even more when the online store is 100% completed. Generally speaking, we’ve seen increasing interest and sales.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brush Your Ideas?
We hired Brush Your Ideas to build a piece of software that would help us design koozies, invitations, and T-shirts.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brush Your Ideas has developed software that gives our customers the ability to customize items to their specifications. In terms of technologies, the team is using Ajax programming; the platform is on Magento, so they use the PHP framework.
For context, the software gives our customers the ability to either select pre-made templates or create their own designs. This helps them cut out the middleman — all we have to do is get their order. We also send them proofs to ensure they like the design. From there, we produce the items for them.
What is the team composition?
Their customer service representative reaches out to us and deals with all of our communication with their team. We have one main point of contact, and a couple of developers sometimes chime in on calls and in emails. In total, I’ve dealt with 3–4 people from Brush Your Ideas.
How did you come to work with Brush Your Ideas?
We researched around 10–15 companies, and Brush Your Ideas stood out because they had a pre-made tool. They also offered to customize that tool. For comparison, other companies also had pre-made tools, but they offered little customization. By contrast, Brush Your Ideas was able to do everything we wanted them to do. They jumped through the hoops on some of our requests; my boss was particular on how she wanted things to be done, and Brush Your Ideas met her requirements. As a result, we engaged them in this project.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $10,000 in their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them around October 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
To measure success, we mainly check customer feedback. We’ve sent the software to our feedback groups and customers that are willing to play around with it. So far, we’ve gotten highly positive feedback for the software’s overall look and functionality. People have few negative things to say about the software. On top of that, the software is about 99% complete.
How did Brush Your Ideas perform from a project management standpoint?
Brush Your Ideas’ project management is great. The budget has never been an issue. They always stick to the quote they give us regardless of the amount of additional work they do.
In terms of communication, there's a 12-hour time difference between our teams; they’re in India and we’re in the US. If we email them at 3 PM our time, that’s 3 AM their time. However, we always get a response from them within 24 hours. As a result, I’ve never had a problem with their communication.
On top of that, while they have a different set of holidays from us, they always alert us about such holidays. They tell us when they’ll be out of the office and when they’ll get back. In other words, they’re always proactive in terms of scheduling. They let us know about such things two weeks in advance.
For tools, we mainly use Zoom for calls. We haven’t had the need to use any project management tools. We typically send them requests via email, and they work on our requests. We’ve also used phone calls, and they’re truly responsive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Our overall experience has been great. I’ve been in this industry for 25 years and worked for big companies. Brush Your Ideas’ level of service is what I expect from a top-notch company. I’ve honestly expected them to code the software for a longer time than they took. However, they usually finish our requests within 24–48 hours, and these requests involve major coding work — this is the type of work that one expects to be done in 4–5 days, but they finish it truly quickly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only challenge we have is our 12-hour time difference, but that’s to be expected since we’re in different locations. They can offer 24/7 support to improve their services, but I’m uncertain if that’s truly necessary because the issues we have right now aren’t urgent.

I am Marketing Manager for a packaging goods provider. We developed a reusable and personalized concept for all types of products.

Brush your Ideas was hired to design and develop our online designer tool. It allows the customer to personalize their packaging , which will be reused as a tray, for exemple. They can choose the engraving outside of the box, or the picture that will be printed inside on a vinyle.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were searching for a vendor who was compatible with Shopify. The good value for money and the simplicity have decided us for BYI.

The project was to have a customizable box from inside and outside. We chose the pictures, the options, the look and feel of the page, the size of the pictures. BYI accompanies us in every step of the process, always making sure that we are satisfied and always finding solutions for every query.

3 or 4 people, form Technique, Commercial.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Every improvement made by BYI permits our clients to be more comfortable with the tool. We had nice feedbacks.

We are very happy about the workflow, which is very smooth and problem-free. BYI is very efficient. They work fast and good.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Reactivity, and excellent communication. Always popularizing the content and making it accessible for us. They always search a solution and they are a very honest company.

Maybe with the payment methods.

Brush developed the tool with additional features. The design of the tool had to be the same design as our website

We start with brush by contacted email. We explain what we want and brush had made a proposal. The designer tool is made specially for us in our design and print files output we need to print the xxl files.

3 persons where working on the project. From developer and sales person we had contact many times.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Brush their support is perfect and great. They are really helpfully. Within time they finished the project. And now we already had started a new project.

We communicate with brush by Skype, email video examples. It was working great.
Every week we had contact with brush by email skype.. brush presented us many forwarding steps.

The support of Brush is really great. There respons time is wonderful so we had finished our project in time

No, we are so happy with brush. We are happy to find a new partner for a long-time term in their team.

The tool came with a lot of bugs (but all of them were corrected). We would have expected less bugs, but we're happy with the corrections)

I am manager of a photo printing company

For what projects/services did your company hire Brush Your Ideas, and what were your goals?
We needed to develop a custom online ordering website based on Magento that would allow customers to upload their photos and then place them in custom templates made just for that customer.
The customer might have 20 different group photos and need to place identifying copy unique to each photo on the template. We know that many of these customers are not sophisticated photographers, so it was imperative that we had an intermediate step in the online process where we would have downloaded just the raw customer image without the copy and custom border.
With this downloaded image we were able to do exposure and color adjustments in Adobe Lightroom and then upload them back to the website and they would download a second time with the color/exposure corrections and now with the final border and custom copy.
Sounds easy, but it is a process that needed to be foolproof as well as easy for the operator to handle the two stage process (take downloaded raw image and correct and upload in bulk back for a final download of all images that are now print ready) It was important that we had the option to add logos, etc. that would be transparent png files that could encroach into the photo area and create the custom / professional look that the customer needed.
We needed it to be a robust site as we printed 38000 8x10 group photos in just 8 weeks. The final product worked as expected.

The detailed interview with sales department as they outlined our needs for development covered all the items we required

BYI gathered our requirements and gave us a listing of the items they would customize on our webstite. They delivered the work in stages and had us test and approve each stage as we went forward

Initially we worked with their sales staff to develop the scope and pricing needed to accomplish our needs. We then worked with a team of 2 to 3 of their technical staff to work through each stage of development.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
This project replaced an older solution built in Nop Commerce. When the product was finished I was able to jump in and work the solution to serve our customers. It worked better than the previous solution.

The staff at BYI was always giving us updates and reactions to our needs in a prompt manner. they used a system that kept us aware of what was done, in progress and next to be worked on.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was most impressed with the follow-up after the solution went live. We were assigned a technician, Ishan, who has worked closely with us since we went live and had been there every time we needed help with more tweaks to the solution.
BYI even made Ishan available in our daytime period on several occasions as we were seeing our work load pickup and we had more things that needed adjusted. That is important because we are 12 hours different in time. Ishan was available at Noon to 4 pm which is his Midnight to 4 am when we know we would need some input. Knowing that we are just a phone call away from support is a great comfort.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I can't think of any.
