BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder of a social media consultancy that focuses on building an online brand presence for companies in the service and hospitality industries.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Pomelo Marketing?

In order to attract new clients, we needed a new website to showcase our past successes. Not only did we want a great looking, fast loading, user-friendly site, we also wanted to showcase our wide range of case studies.

What were your goals for this project?

It was imperative that the site highlighted our portfolio and was designed in a way to convert visitors into actual clients. We wanted a user journey that would focus on conversions first and foremost.

How did you select this vendor?

We were referred to Pomelo Marketing by another company in our industry that had seen increases in conversions after a website redesign done by them.

Describe the project in detail.

Pomelo Marketing first had a discovery session that reviewed some of the top competitors in our industry and identified what was working. Afterwards, they presented us some initial mockups and core features that would be implemented in the site, such as contact form placement, strategic call-to-action, site structure, and high-level content plans.

Afterwards, they delivered an initial functional draft of the website and we had multiple rounds of feedback at which point they delivered the final product to us. They are still performing on-going maintenance to ensure the site is running as intended.

What was the team composition?

There was a project manager, which was our main point of contact. I'm not sure what the full team composition was because we only communicated with the project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After the website redesign, our bounce rate decreased by over 50% and traffic increased nominally by roughly 10%. I can't definitively attribute the increase in traffic to the website redesign but the significant decrease in bounce rate shows that users like the redesign.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We used the project management tool (Asana) and Google Drive to manage all project assets. Communication was seamless and frequent, which I especially liked. Towards the end of the project, we had meetings every week to discuss the changes and feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their communication and transparency were refreshing. If there were challenges, they would communicate that to us very well. They definitely over-delivered in terms of service.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Although there were frequent updates on the project management tool, I have never used Asana before and because of the frequency of the updates, it was a bit overwhelming. There's definitely a learning curve to using their preferred project management tool.
