BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO and founder of a new campaign fund manager web app. I’m primarily focused on raising money and developing our vision, and I also handle business relations.

For what projects/services did your company hire The Policy Bridge LLC?

We needed them to assemble a dataset of campaign contributions for local Democratic Party affiliates over the past two decades and import that into a web application.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a functioning web application with the capability to scale its database nationally.

How did you select this vendor?

I have a personal relationship with Lukas (Founding Partner, Policy Bridge) and have worked with him throughout the years. I knew he would work with integrity and ensure the exact deliverables I had envisioned.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They developed a backend hosted on Heroku with code written in React.js. The backend used a PostGreSQL database management system. They created an entire database schema, using an ETL process to extract data from county databases and load it onto our database. Frontend features included Facebook login support, Google Maps integration, and Tableau for data analysis. They later created Android and iOS mobile apps built from React Native.

What was the team composition?

Lukas was our main point of contact. They had a group of developers, designers, and QA testers based in Poland. They scaled their team up or down based on our needs. They also offered additional project managers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

A process that used to take us hours of searching through records has now become a simple search and display on a Google Map integrated with Tableau. Also, I can quickly create customized campaigns via social media bulk messaging and emails, which has improved our efficiency and increased engagement.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Lukas was our main point of contact, and I also was in contact with a project manager based in Poland who spoke fluent English. Lukas was the overall project lead, while the manager in Poland worked directly with the developers. Lukas provided excellent communication and real-time updates and support as he interfaced with different developers to ensure smooth delivery.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with their 24-hour work schedule, which improved our delivery timeline. The quality and professionalism of their developers made a difference.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They should continue to ensure all of their client’s needs and requirements are defined as early as possible, in order to eliminate any ambiguity between the developers.
