Pointer was contracted to engage our market using email outbound. We had a hypothesis of who the ideal customer profile was and the messaging that would resonate. This had not been tested. Pointer helped define the ICP, Build lists of theTotal Accessible Market and engage them using emails.

They write the emails, build the lists and created the email system to allow for delivering emails to the primary inbox at scale The key deliverable was to get conversations with the audience in the form of discovery and demos calls. Secondary objectives were direct registrations and product awareness.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Over the course of the campaign, we had over 72 positive engagements. More if we are including the secondary objectives such as self registration, and product awareness. The cold email campaign had a 26.93 reply rate and a 21.84% positive reply rate.

We measure success the way our clients measure their revenue teams: by outcomes, not activity. The primary metric is whether the people we place actually perform in role. For every placement, we track ramp time against plan, attainment of quota or KPI in the first full year, retention at 12 and 24 months, and internal progression. A search is only successful if the hire is still there, hitting their number, and on a trajectory the client is happy with. If a placement leaves inside 12 months for a reason within our control, we replace at no cost. That guarantee keeps us honest and forces us to qualify roles, candidates, and culture fit at depth before we shortlist. The second metric is search efficiency for the client. We measure time from brief to shortlist, time from brief to offer accepted, shortlist to interview conversion, and offer to acceptance rate. Our internal benchmarks are a four to six week shortlist for most GTM roles, eight to ten weeks for executive search, and an offer acceptance rate above 90 percent. We review every search against these benchmarks and dig into anything that misses. The third metric is candidate experience. Every candidate who runs a process with us, hired or not, gets a feedback survey. We track NPS, response quality, and whether they would recommend us to a peer. Our candidate NPS sits above 70. That matters because the operators we place today are the hiring managers and clients we will work with in five years. The fourth metric is commercial impact for the client. Where possible, we track the revenue, pipeline, or capability outcomes that our placements drive once in seat. Client case studies are built around hard numbers: pipeline created, quota attainment, team scaled, region launched. We do not publish a placement until we can quantify what it produced. Finally, we measure repeat and referral business. Over 80 percent of our work comes from existing clients re-engaging or referring peers. That is the metric we trust most

Every Pointer search runs through the same structured process, refined across hundreds of GTM placements. Step 1, brief and calibration. We start with a working session covering commercial context: pipeline targets, sales motion, segment, deal size, team structure, and the outcomes the hire needs to deliver in year one. We pressure-test the comp band against live ANZ data and align on a candidate scorecard before sourcing begins. Step 2, market mapping. Our research team builds a map of every plausible candidate in the ANZ market for the role, including passive operators not actively looking. We share the map with the client so they see the shape of the pool before we approach. Step 3, outreach and qualification. Partners run direct outreach. Every candidate engaged is screened against the scorecard with structured interviews on capability, motivation, and fit. We capture evidence, not impressions. Step 4, shortlist. Within four to six weeks for most GTM roles, eight to ten for executive search, we present a shortlist of three to five candidates with full written assessments, comp expectations, and risk flags. Pointer operates on a retained search model for most engagements, with structured alternatives for specific use cases. Retained search is our default. Fees are calculated as a percentage of total first-year cash compensation, billed in three milestones: engagement, shortlist delivery, and successful placement. The retained model lets us commit senior partner time to the search, run a proper market mapping exercise, and approach passive candidates at depth. It is the right structure for senior IC, leadership, and executive roles where the hire materially affects the business. For executive search at VP, C-suite, and board level, we run a premium retained engagement with deeper market mapping, structured references, capability assessment, and onboarding support. Pricing reflects the seniority and complexity of the role. For high-volume or repeat hiring, we offer embedded and project-based engagements. Clients hiring multiple roles in a function or quarter can engage Pointer on a fixed monthly fee with agreed deliverables, which typically reduces total cost per hire and lets us operate as an extension of the internal talent team. For select junior IC roles where market dynamics suit it, we run on a contingent basis, with a placement fee paid only on a successful hire. Every Pointer engagement carries a 12-month replacement guarantee. If a placement leaves within 12 months for a reason within our control, we re-run the search at no additional fee. That guarantee aligns our incentives with the client's actual outcome rather than just signing a contract. We are transparent on pricing in the first conversation and benchmark our fees against ANZ market norms for the role and seniority. We will not take on a search where the budget cannot support a quality outcome, and we will say so up front rather than run a search we cannot win.
