The work performed by Point Real Estate Marketing has pleased project stakeholders and surpassed all project requirements. The owner’s knowledge of his client’s industry has allowed them to provide strategic direction as well as high-quality development and marketing services.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

My company is called Canopy Lands, and we are a land development management company. Our business is to partner with landowners or bring our own equity to plan, develop, and sell land assemblies or raw lands.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Point Real Estate Marketing?

Our objective was to have a whisper campaign about our land assembly, which was going through planning stages, to let builders and the real estate industry at large know about the project. The underlying challenge was to figure out how to present our company to the real estate industry in Calgary.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a press release and organized our PR campaign, as well as designing and developing our website. They also engaged with more traditional PR avenues in the markets around Calgary, such as newspapers and magazines.

Our main objective for the website was that anyone using it should be able to navigate to their goal in their second click on the browser. We wanted to provide a very high-level introduction to our team and the projects that we are working on, but because a lot of the landowners in our area are 65 and above, our focus was on making it as easily navigable as possible.

What is the team composition?

I have not engaged with anyone in the company besides Jesse (President, Point Real Estate Marketing).

How did you come to work with Point Real Estate Marketing?

I was actually introduced to Jesse while he was working with another company, and then when he decided to go on his own recently, we decided to follow him his company to continue the relationship.

How much have you invested with them?

Our investment is around $50,000 at this point.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2018 and are continuing to move forward together.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t get a lot of feedback on the site, but my thought process there is that if I don’t hear anything, then it means nothing is broken. What I have found is that when I meet with people who have looked at the website, they’re much more knowledgeable about what we do than those who haven't. Those meetings always end up being far more productive.

How did Point Real Estate Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They have been very good at project management. Our communication is extremely straightforward. We focus on selecting dates for meetings and deadlines, and they always deliver on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

His knowledge of builders and the building industry has been very beneficial for us. Like I said, our target market is builders, so being able to receive feedback from Jesse on what kind of product type they are looking for, or how many lots they buy every year was incredibly helpful. His intelligence really helped us to refine our strategy and tailor it to the right demographic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For us, they are a one-stop-shop for all of our marketing, so the only thing they could improve is to offer more services that we could take advantage of. Other than that, I don’t think there’s anything I wish they did differently.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is just to be very clear with exactly what you are asking for. It’s like the difference between burger and steak: Jesse is very experienced and competent and can produce an extremely slick result for you. If you don’t need that level of slickness, however, you can reduce your budget just by being upfront about what you do and don’t need. He will work with you to develop exactly what you ask for.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Parkbridge Communities is a residential developer and builder in the Okanagan Valley. I’m the sales and marketing manager for Western Canada.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Point Real Estate Marketing?

We needed help with our physical and digital collateral.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Point Real Estate Marketing led a complete revitalization of our marketing and media strategies. They developed paper collateral, roadside signage, street signage, interior design for the sales office, and all our literature/hand-outs as well. In terms of our website, they ensure the consistency of the look and feel. They also make sure we get event registration information so that our staff can follow up on leads.

They've done some lead generation and maintenance as well. They helped clean up our existing lead base and verify data accuracy. Point Real Estate Marketing reached out to all our contacts to inform them of upcoming events. For new contacts, they put ads in local newspapers and created press releases.

What is the team composition?

We work with a number of members of their team. That includes two in sales, two in administration, and several in marketing.

How did you come to work with Point Real Estate Marketing?

They were a referral.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $20,000–$30,000 CAD (approximately $15,000–$23,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started in April 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in qualified traffic—meaning that users are interested in our homes and not just random site visitors. We’re very satisfied.

How did Point Real Estate Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

The Point Real Estate Marketing team is full of great communicators, and they're quick to respond. There’s no tension, so it’s always a smooth process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're approachable and their response time is very high.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing negative that I could say.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don't be afraid to give suggestions and opinions. They're very receptive. Point Real Estate Marketing will listen to and utilize your feedback.

The updated brand identity positively impacted business. Web and physical traffic, along with recognition, both increased. Point Communications Group is skilled in their field, thinking creatively to deliver high-quality solutions to their clients. Expect a communicative team with natural talent.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the former sales and marketing manager at a homebuilder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Point Communications Group?

I came in after their team was hired, but our company was trying to amalgamate a few different brands within our business. There is the land division side and builder side. They wanted to create a uniform brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jesse (President, Point Communications Group) worked on creating a cohesive brand under one umbrella. We also had to separate the building division into other divisions as well, along with the work being done with the land side. Along with designing a new logo, he was involved in revamping our website and creating a consistent branding message. All of the printing materials were recreated once the new brand was developed and rolled out.

What is the team composition?

Our lead on the project was Jesse.

How did you come to work with Point Communications Group?

I believe our graphic artist had a connection to Point Communications Group.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $200,000 CAD (approximately $150,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Point Communications Group from May 2013–April 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The revamped brand has had a positive effect. The rebranding elevated the company’s perception within the industry. During that time, more awards were won. Online traffic and show home visits were impacted positively. The cohesive brand resulted in traffic increasing, which left it up to my team to close those leads. But it is important to note that their team elevated the prospects.

How did Point Communications Group perform from a project management standpoint?

I really enjoyed working with Jesse. Constant communication was strong throughout the partnership. We had regular check-ins to make sure everything was on track, figuring out solutions in case we needed to alter our course of action. We communicated mainly through email and in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are a lot of companies that focus on this industry, but Point Communications Group truly cares about real estate. I felt that Jesse understood what goals we wanted to achieve. After the engagement finished, I worked with other providers that simply white-washed projects, applying general strategies. Jesse took it to a deeper level, making his work unique and creative. I feel that it’s a real gift to be able to dig deep at the personality of a company to make the messaging unique.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The challenges that we came across during that time period were more circumstantial than any flaws or inadequacies from their team. I can’t think of anything that they need to improve upon at this time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend asking for a lot of time to dig deep because they’re good at understanding messaging. Once their team has that, something creative can come out of that. Focus on ensuring that the personality is clearly defined. The time spent on that initial portion is crucial.
