Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
The challenge we aimed to address with Point Jupiter was the development of a sophisticated online museum website. Our goal was to create a seamless and engaging digital platform that showcases the museum's exhibits and collections to a global audience. The scope of Point Jupiter's involvement included designing and implementing a modern solution for the online museum.
This consisted of two key services - a Content Management System (CMS) powered by Strapi to manage the museum's content and a custom frontend built using Next.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS for a visually appealing user interface. Communication between the frontend and CMS was achieved through a REST API. The website supports multiple languages (Croatian and English) to cater to an international audience.
Deployment was streamlined using Continuous Integration (CI) principles with Docker images for automated production deployment. Some technical challenges were overcome, such as the decoupled frontend and backend systems where data models and structures needed to be replicated on both ends, through the use of TypeScript for type safety and Zod library for data validation. Despite obstacles, Point Jupiter's expertise and dedication resulted in an exceptional online museum experience.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
developed UX of the brand new, now digitised, Museum of war photography ("Image of War")
developed web design of the new online museum
web development of the new online museum
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Project management was perfect. Admittedly we had the privilege of time, i.e. were in no rush. How the Point Jupiter team went about producing the UX of the online museum collection, bearing in mind the often very sensitive images the War Photography Museum exposes viewers to, has to be especially commended. A lot of their time and reflection went into creating the best possible/ most appropriate presentation of viewer sensitive content. In this process they wanted to pay respect to the authors, the peace-building mission and vision of the Image of War museum, and to make it gratifying for the end-user, the viewer.
We could not have been happier with how they approached the topic and delivered the end result: an online and easily accessible permanent photography collection of our museum. This made the grief of having to permanently close the physical museum following the Zagreb 2020 earthquake bearable.

None. Everything was perfect.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of sales and business development at RealNetworks, a global company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. I operate out of Salzburg, Austria, which is the EMEA headquarters. I’ve been with the company for about 11 years.
RealNetworks is an innovation-driven company that has been around for 27 years. We’ve led streaming technology and brought one of the first audio and video streams to the internet for RealPlayer technology.
Today, RealNetworks is active in various areas, focusing primarily on AI and machine learning. This has led to two key initiatives: safe accurate face recognition (SAFR) and Kontxt, an anti-fraud solution for voice and messaging. We also run a games business and still do direct-to-consumer business with RealPlayer. Overall, we have a legacy and experience dealing with mobile operators all around the globe. We provide content-based services to mobile operators as a fully-managed solution.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Point Jupiter?
We needed a strong partner in the area of UX design.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Point Jupiter supports us with their competence and expertise, creating state-of-the-art UX designs and applying best practices to create user flows. They purely support us during the design phase.
We’ve developed the platform and a white-label version. We hand this over to the operator, and they apply their corporate identity to the service. Then, the operator sells this service to their customer; the service replaces the ring with content, either music or voice messages.
We obviously need a web frontend or native applications for Android and iOS that allow users to sign up, subscribe to the service, purchase and explore content, and administrate the settings. As we’ve developed these applications, we’ve partnered with Point Jupiter to create mock-ups, design proposals, and wireframes for these frontends, which are the basis for development to execute with the coding. We work closely with the team to create the look and feel of these applications, which need to align with the mobile network operator.
Therefore, we must ensure that our partner’s design guidelines are correctly applied. Our partners usually have detailed style guides for their corporate identity, so Point Jupiter must apply their assets and overall brand design. Additionally, Point Jupiter optimizes the flow and creates helpful and clickable prototypes using Figma to make it easy to visualize how the application will look in the end.
What is the team composition?
We usually only work with one teammate. We have a dedicated designer from their team; they work closely with us until the design phase is done.
How did you come to work with Point Jupiter?
We had a long history of working with them. Since we’d successfully cooperated with Point Jupiter on many projects for the last few years, we knew we could rely on their expertise.
We initially researched for a partner; it wasn’t a recommendation. At the time, we had a huge project, and Point Jupiter was a different company. We had 1–2 employees working for us as consultants; they came to the Salzburg office and stayed with us for three months. Then, they went home and came back again; they really were part of the team here.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent around $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve worked with them for over 10 years. Our partnership began in January 2013, and it’s still ongoing. In fact, we’re their longest active client.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Point Jupiter’s impact has been positive. Moreover, our experience working with them has been excellent. They understand that project cycles can be quite long and tedious. Response times can significantly delay a project, but Point Jupiter has adapted well and is flexible. Their reaction time and availability to schedule a call spontaneously are great.
Overall, Point Jupiter is part of the team despite being external consultants. They work closely with us, so we feel they’re part of our company.
How did Point Jupiter perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re extremely helpful. They’ve adapted to our budget, so that area is flexible. Although their number one priority is creating revenue, they’re also willing to keep the partnership going on, which is greatly appreciated. If we have budget constraints, Point Jupiter sits with us to work on a solution, and looking back after all these years, it has always worked out.
Our main communication tools are emails, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. After each call, Point Jupiter sends out a detailed meeting minutes so everyone is always on the same page and fully aligned. If we want to talk to them, we can drop them an email and talk to them either the same day or the next day at the latest.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We give them certain project requirements, and Point Jupiter gives us a proposal that always stays within budget. Their ability to analyze, plan, and execute projects based on their initial assessment is superb; there aren’t any surprises.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Overall, we’re pleased with their service; we have no complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re facing the challenge of designing an application with complex user flows and need guidance on UX design and branding, then Point Jupiter is the right partner to go with.

Point Jupiter is designing and developing a website and a mobile app for one of the projects of a European fund from scratch, implementing the required functionality and developing the needed content.
The client is satisfied with what Point Jupiter has designed and delivered, and they’re confident that the final product will meet their expectations. The team is professional and organized, as well as very timely. Additionally, they communicate clearly and manage the project proactively.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager at RCK RECEPT, a European fund that funds projects for a vocational school in Croatia. We’re the main partner in a project for their catering school.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Point Jupiter?
We needed to develop a website and mobile application for our current project. These products would help us develop new curriculums for our students and do promotional activities to promote our vocational education and generate more interest in catering and tourism occupations. Additionally, these products would support study activities to allow students to create their own business ideas and put them into practice.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Point Jupiter has helped us design and develop a website and a mobile application from scratch for our project. During the procurement process, we provided them with a document that had all of our requirements. These requirements included integrating a map of our location and a contact section. In addition to adding those features to our site, they’ve also generated the content needed for it.
Recently, Point Jupiter finished the website, and they’re currently in the later stages of the mobile app development. This app will be available for iOS and Android, and we expect to launch it by August 2022.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with four different people from Point Jupiter. Initially, I met with a director and a project manager. Since then, I’ve also worked with a designer and a developer. At least two people from their team are present in every meeting.
How did you come to work with Point Jupiter?
Another company that had worked with Point Jupiter recommended them to us. Still, we went through a public procurement process, and Point Jupiter had the best offer regarding cost; they were the best choice.
How much have you invested with them?
In total, including the website and the mobile app, we will spend about $34,000. This cost also includes maintenance for both platforms.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2022. They delivered the website in May 2022, and we’re still working on the mobile app development.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Point Jupiter has delivered everything we’ve asked for, and they’ve done it by the agreed deadlines. We’re very pleased with the website and its clean design, and I don't have any doubts that they will deliver the mobile app according to what we agreed on.
How did Point Jupiter perform from a project management standpoint?
We typically communicate with Point Jupiter through Google Meet or Zoom meetings. Our first meeting was in person, which was very important for us. It allowed us to discuss our expectations and lay out clear requirements for the features we needed. However, we don’t insist on having in-person meetings now because we’re based in different cities in Croatia. Still, all the meetings are very professional and have a defined structure.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The first aspect I would highlight about Point Jupiter is that they’re very punctual. They always meet the deadlines we agree upon, and they professionally remind us of the things we need to do on our end to keep the project on track.
When I worked with other companies, I was the one constantly calling them to ask for status updates. However, Point Jupiter takes the initiative and guides us through the process. Their proactive approach is very nice because we feel that they constantly think about us and care about our project; it’s a really great relationship.
Point Jupiter is also very pleasant during our meetings, and it's easy to work with them. I’m not a technical person, but they explain everything in a very simple manner so that I can understand and make decisions. Thus, I’m always aware of what is going on.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. I don’t have any constructive comments for them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Leverage the meetings with Point Jupiter and don’t hesitate to ask questions about things you don’t know or understand. They're very willing to explain everything.
