A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of a tech company that handles audio watermarking and file transfer.
What challenge were you trying to address with PixelGrow?
We needed help building the website and infrastructure that houses the watermarking features.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They completely built our infrastructure for our product using AWS. When a person uploads a song, it gets watermarked and the file is transferred to a recipient that will have certain permissions to the file. This allows users to share audio with friends, but at that point, the file is watermarked again.
What is the team composition?
We were working with a team of 3–4 specialists.
How did you come to work with PixelGrow?
They were highly recommended by a trusted connection. We could tell that we could build a relationship based on their care for our product and determination to deliver results.
How much have you invested with them?
The project cost between $20,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them around January 2018, and our teams are still collaborating.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The final product hasn’t been released yet. As I get demos back from them, the software is working properly, visually pleasing, and user-friendly. Those were all major focuses for us.
How did PixelGrow perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated mostly through email but also held the occasional Skype call. They were always available, responding to emails extremely fast. It’s been an incredible experience.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their reliability distinguishes them from their competitors.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you stay on top of your correspondence with them. It’ll help move the project faster.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Unplugged Hotel Group (UHG) is a young company that’s currently working on its first hotel opening in September 2019. UHG is also working on several projects on a consultancy basis.
For what projects/services did your company hire PixelGrow?
We’ve worked with PixelGrow for quite a while now. We hired them to develop a website for our other business. At the moment, they’re working on the UHG website and several presentations.
What were your goals for this project?
We want a professional website for our hotel group that is separate from the hotel website.
How did you select this vendor?
We chose to work with PixelGrow again due to our experiences with them in the past.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
PixelGrow designed our logo and website.
What was the team composition?
We always talk directly to the project manager, who is in charge of the developers and designers. This makes communication very clear. I know that the team consists of about 16 members, but I’ve only talked to three of them over the past couple of years.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The current project is not live, so there hasn’t been much of an impact yet. We have seen an impact from our previous projects. The former projects were property websites that included booking modules. The new websites that PixelGrow built increased direct bookings by about 20%. The design of the site made booking easier, and this prompted a rise in engagement.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Our project managers are always available to answer questions, receive feedback, and offer suggestions. They set aside time to discuss projects steps and talk through design choices and options.
These projects have truly been a cooperation. Communication has been easy and straightforward and can go through various channels. We reach out primarily via email or phone.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The operation seems to be extremely lean. The way that communication flows and the extremely fast reactions have made for efficient development processes. PixelGrow is also willing to have in-person meetings despite being located on the other side of the world. The team is exceptionally collaborative.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not at the moment.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We’re a startup company in the U.K., looking at applications to assist vulnerable animals and humans.
For what projects/services did your company hire PixelGrow?
We needed the development of an MVP for an idea we had researched. The MVP was to gain proof of concept and possible investor funds.
What were your goals for this project?
The app needed to be clean and simple to use as it is likely going to be used in an emergency. Our funds were limited so that was an important consideration.
How did you select this vendor?
I was introduced to Daniel (CEO and Co-Founder, PixelGrow) and we had an initial video call. I could tell he really understood what I was after and the long-term vision around the app.
Describe the project in detail.
They developed the MVP of the app. It allows pet owners to upload a picture of their pet, their phone number, and whether the animal is microchipped. If their pet goes missing, they press the picture of their pet to send a push notification out to all other users in a 5-mile radius, creating an immediate search party. The searchers can press the telephone number on their screen to call the owners and owners can cancel the alert.
What was the team composition?
There was a team of five. We were assigned a project manager, who I corresponded with throughout the project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our MVP is live and we’re now marketing it to relevant consumers. It does everything we want it to do at the moment.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was highly effective, and we had good, open communication despite the language barrier. All issues that were raised were dealt with promptly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their speed of production and problem-solving abilities exceeded my expectations.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There are none at this stage.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was really simple.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They finished the job quickly and integrated our feedback.
Are there any areas for improvement?
