Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the director of CAM Steel, which provides steel products to South Africa.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Phantom Digital?
We were trying to expand our marketing efforts out of South Africa into the rest of the continent. Additionally, we wanted to bring products we’d developed in the Middle East into the South African market.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Phantom Digital developed our marketing strategy. We had several in-person meetings with Phantom Digital’s team to develop the strategy. During those meetings, I provided the Phantom Digital team with a basic outline of what I needed to be done; then, they used their experience in the South African market to develop marketing strategies. They determined precisely what market sectors we needed to target. We went back and forth on deliverables throughout the partnership to ensure they perfectly met our needs.
What is the team composition?
I worked with four teammates from Phantom Digital, although I worked with Strini (Founder) most often.
How did you come to work with Phantom Digital?
I vetted several companies, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot weren’t responding quickly or not responding at all. However, Phantom Digital was very responsive and promptly provided all the information we needed.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Phantom Digital from June–December 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I wasn’t tracking every deliverable from Phantom Digital, but I got a lot of positive feedback from my in-house team about their work. I was very happy with our partnership with Phantom Digital.
How did Phantom Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
We used a variety of platforms to communicate with Phantom Digital, including WhatsApp, Zoom, and Skype. They were very flexible — their team was always available and answered my questions quickly, usually within a few days if questions were more complex. Phantom Digital always met the timelines I set, and if I wasn’t happy with something, they’d rectify the issues quickly while still meeting deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Phantom Digital went above and beyond for my company. They answered our calls no matter the time — whenever I needed to talk to Strini, I just called and got an immediate response.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing specific for Phantom Digital to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’d advise customers to hire Phantom Digital because they’re responsive and are eager to showcase their work to customers. Their team also provides a lot of in-depth information and feedback, which I haven’t experienced with other companies in that field.
