Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the editor for Superfluo, a cultural magazine which promotes young artists in Uruguay.

For what projects/services did your company hire Pesto?

I hired Pesto to design our printed edition. We realised there were no printed magazines like ours in Uruguay and thought it would be a great idea to have it printed.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to create a dynamic, fun, thought-provoking magazine which anybody would like to touch and, most particulary, see. We wanted it to be visually appealing.

As the guys from Pesto are young and vibrant, we thought they could be the right ones for our project. And we were right, they understood what we wanted from day one.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Whilst other designers were reluctant to adapt to our project, Pesto seemed capable of reshaping. From day one, they showed a willingness to try over and over, giving us lots of options and taking into account our opinions and suggestions. So it wasn't a difficult choice at all.

Describe the project in detail.

Once we commissioned them to the job, they started working immediately. Usually, we receive one or two choices. In this case, we received four choices for our identity, each one showing different targets and moods -from the colours to the fonts used.

They emphasised the process, which was great. We went through the process together, taking decisions and choosing the paths we liked the most. Whilst I expected a simple choose-this-or-that process, they involved us in it and, together, we got to a very satisfactory visual identity for our magazine.

What was the team composition?

Pesto is formed by their two designers/creators - Joaquín and Daniel. They both worked with us evenly from day one and they seemed to really complement each other.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The magazine looks way better than I expected, it looks absolutely professional. Just by catching a glimpse of it you realise there's lots of creative work behind it, and that it's not just a copy or repetition from previous projects.

It's extremely eye-catching and I can't say I would be as content as I am if I hadn't worked with Pesto. Everybody I show the cover for the first number of the magazine becomes immediately mesmerised by it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Absolutely perfect. We would set deadlines and they would have everything ready even before said deadlines. They were easily available, always extremely respectful, and willing to undertake this project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their willingness to work and improve. They would not be content with their first try, but they would try again and again until they got to what they thought was the correct result. That's what made me hire them in the first place.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was positively surprised and they surpassed my previous expectations, so I don't think there's anything for them to improve. Hopefully, they'll gain more experience sooner rather than later and I'm sure they'll get bigger jobs.

We needed some design work, now we are looking into working with some social media.

What were your goals for this project?

We do not know anything about design and social media. We needed help in these matters.

By referral.

I am the main contact from the business, we are working closely on each design to be make a uniformed personality to our hostel.

What was the team composition?

Two designers working side by side.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We made a series of ads that increased the amount of calls we got this past few weeks.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very good

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were, overall, pleasently surprised with the work. The team has greater expertise than expected.

I don't think so.

I’m the owner of a studio that does stop-motion animation and visual arts.

We hired Pesto to handle web design, development, and branding.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main objective was to have a face in the digital world and to make our services easy to reach and discover.

How did you select this vendor?

I personally Pesto’s owner.

We had a series of strategic meetings together at the beginning which was followed by more back-and-forth meetings during the web design phase. After that, web development was done pretty quickly.

They assigned two designers and one developer to our project.

We just launched and have seen a rise in our website’s view count.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The work was well done and we had no problems.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciated Pesto’s clear, strategic, and step-by-step process.

Pesto’s communication during web development could’ve been better.
