Event Analyzer Image

Event Analyzer

Event Analyzer, a product of The Financial Revolutionist, provides fin-tech companies with actionable insights into industry events. Event Analyzer started out with an idea and access to data. The new product was then designed from the ground up, helping define the go to market offering, and providing an intuitive easy to use interface to customers.

In our design work for Event Analyzer, development of how to organize
the data and content based on customer wants and needs was a major task. This was outlined first and then the interface, interactivity and flows were fully designed and implemented.
Finding Local Products – Made in NYC Image

Finding Local Products – Made in NYC

Percepted has been Made in NYC’s brand and interactive agency for 5 plus years as the buy locally made movement has continued to take hold.

The branding goals included capturing the excitement of local manufacturing and local products made in New York City. The look and feel was upgraded to reflect this idea. The Made In NYC website is supported by social media and a variety of marketing and

informational campaigns.

The site is a searchable directory of manufacturers doing business in New York City. It profiles and links to each member company and serves as a resource for consumers to find unique local products as well as for businesses to find local manufacturers as resources.
An Interface for Caissa’s SaaS Platform Image

An Interface for Caissa’s SaaS Platform

Caissa’s flagship financial analytics software got a ground-up overhaul including a new front-end user interface. With the new user experience and interface design, users will see significant improvements in usability.

With Depth and Complexity comes Opportunity
Used extensively by asset managers for complex analysis and projections, Caissa’s platform is known for its ability to

look deeply at exposure and risk across the entire spectrum of asset classes. In our design work for Caissa, the robustness of their financial software was an opportunity to fully develop its unique characteristics and make the software as intuitive as possible.

The Gratification of a User Friendly Interface
The platform brings comprehensive financial data together into one place where it can then be accessed and manipulated. The new user interface makes functionality simpler and more apparent, and more clearly presents the valuable data the software provides.
The Nasdaq Stock Market's MarketSite Image

The Nasdaq Stock Market's MarketSite

Market data graphics used in the delivery of real-time data became a large feature of Nasdaq’s overall identity.

A major part of the branding effort was designing the Nasdaq MarketSite, a large-screen public display of real-time financial market data. It is located in Times Square and is used by Nasdaq to represent the market, often seen in news media as a backdrop for financial reporting.

In parallel to the development of the MarketSite, Nasdaq.com launched as one of the first websites to offer a series of real time investing tools including real time stock quotes, market indices, most active stocks, and other data. The website’s traffic grew to 8 million page views a day. Following nasdaq.com, a series of other web initiatives were designed and launched for Nasdaq.
Bend in the Road – an Entertainment Identity Image

Bend in the Road – an Entertainment Identity

Bend in The Road Productions, a television and movie company formed by Diane English, creator of Murphy Brown, was looking for a fresh identity to help tell their story.

About the Company
English created, wrote, and produced the groundbreaking comedy Murphy Brown starring Candice Bergen, which originally ran for ten seasons on CBS from 1988-98. More recently, she produced and

directed the major motion picture film The Women an adaptation of Clare Booth Luce’s iconic play and George Cukor’s 1939 film. And two decades after the award-winning series Murphy Brown originally ended, CBS has announced a 13-episode reboot for the 2018-19 season.

The Approach
Bend in the Road is the name of English’s favorite beach. The name was chosen to convey the  excitement and possibilities of unexpected new experiences that lie just around “the bend in the road”. We developed the logo design and onscreen animation for this entertainment company.
Aeroflow Healthcare Identity Design Image

Aeroflow Healthcare Identity Design

Aeroflow Healthcare asked Percepted to develop a new brand identity to help reinforce a customer-focused positioning and to convey the brands promise to provide best in class healthcare products for all the stages of life.

The branding work featured an updated logo and a new tag line “Live Better Today and Tommorow”. In addition a new color palette and typographic style were developed along with brand guidelines

showing online, print and environemntal applications.
FreshDirect – a Groundbreaker Gets a Logo Image

FreshDirect – a Groundbreaker Gets a Logo

FreshDirect was launching its pioneering online grocery service in New York City.

It was a business idea often talked about, but no one had yet succeeded at. Part of the effort included designing a brand identity that would help establish what would become the first successful online grocer.

They had already secured the name FreshDirect. In designing the logo we set out to help convey that

FreshDirect was an innovator in a new category that promised faster, fresher, competitively priced food, yet at the same time felt established, and a company you could trust to know food and be your purveyor of choice.
The Nasdaq Identity Image

The Nasdaq Identity

The Nasdaq Stock Markets’s corporate identity was designed to help foster the public’s understanding and involvement with financial markets, and to promote the Nasdaq market to its constituents.

Market data graphics used in the delivery of real-time data became a large feature of the overall identity. Sales literature targeting potential companies, company retention initiatives, broker-dealer

communications, and literature for the individual investor all utilized branded market data graphics to embody the idea of market access and technology.

A major part of the branding effort was designing the Nasdaq MarketSite, a large-screen public display of real-time financial market data. It is located in Times Square and is used by Nasdaq to represent the market, often seen in news media as a backdrop for financial reporting.

Percepted employed razor-sharp design thinking to produce quality designs that seamlessly incorporate the client’s desired functionalities. Their work—featuring intelligent structure and appealing branding—has been received enthusiastically by the internal team. They’re a skilled, friendly team.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a product manager at a media and intelligence platform. We write about financial services and fintech startups across various verticals—like banking, wealth management, etc. We also offer a database of financial events and conferences for marketers, salespeople, and those interested in networking.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Percepted?

We approached Percepted to help build our database product, which is called our Analyzer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We came to them with a high-level overview of our idea as well as a requirements document. The Percepted team applied design thinking and best practices to deliver the UX/UI of the web-based platform.

They created mockups and wireframes before delivering finalized image files to pass on to our development team. Percepted utilized Adobe Suite, Sketch, and Zeppelin to create and deliver jpeg files of the frontend.

Percepted also helped us develop the branding scheme for the database, which included colors, fonts, and a logo. They essentially developed all of the images that would be used for the final product.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two teammates.

How did you come to work with Percepted?

I’d actually worked with them for ten years at previous firms. I’d met them at another project many years ago, and they’ve been a good partner to me throughout the years. This is probably the sixth project that I’ve engaged them for.

How much have you invested with them?

This UX/UI design project cost between $10,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

For this project, we started working together in February 2019, and the project wrapped up in March.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were extremely pleased with what they delivered. Right from the beginning, they exhibited a sharp intuition about how to incorporate the functionalities we were looking for.

Our team was really impressed by how they came up with the structure and organization of the database; they managed to integrate all the different components we wanted in a sensible and seamless way. When they gave us the branding work, it really brought the mockups to life.

The fact that I’ve engaged them so many times is a testament to the quality of their work. They’ve become a true partner over the years.

How did Percepted perform from a project management standpoint?

They handled scheduling and communication exceptionally well. They’re very available and always deliver in a timely manner. They adhered to our budget and managed expectations without issue.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think they’re a very strong team from start to finish. They bring unique expertise in design and development to the table. On top of that, they’re super easy to work with—friendly and very thoughtful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. They’ve executed very strongly, and it’s always a pleasure to work with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Decide to work with them, and you’re guaranteed to get a strong, friendly, and professional team on your side.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of The Music & Play Station.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Percepted?

We were opening up a new space and needed a logo that would represent us well. We had quite a few logo design ideas: “M & P” would be our small logo and “The Music & Play Station” would be our large one. Other than, we had no vision for the font or color scheme.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After meeting with us a couple of times to understand what we wanted, Chris (Creative Director & Design Lead) proposed a number of different styles, fonts, and ideas. Over the course of 3–4 other meetings, we were able to combine, change, and morphe the ideas he came up with into one cohesive concept. He then translated this into design elements, which he delivered as hard copies and digital files.

What is the team composition?

We only worked with Chris.

How did you come to work with Percepted?

We’ve known Chris for 20 years. He’s a personal friend of ours so we know his work and have always been impressed by it. We knew that he had done some really big campaigns in the past, so we knew that we would be in really good hands. We didn’t hesitate at all to choose him.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started and completed the project in July 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It all came together really quickly, within two weeks, and it went very well. We love our beautiful logo and it was received really well by others when we finally opened up our space. A lot of people gave us positive comments.

How did Percepted perform from a project management standpoint?

Percepted came with a whole lot of ideas and was very willing to take our feedback and make any changes as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The project was great because Chris wasn’t emotionally attached to his work, unlike other designers I’ve worked with before. I never got any pushback from him. He was pliable and willing to give us exactly what we wanted.

Though he was open to our feedback, he also did make it clear when he thought we were going down a path that wasn’t aligned with our project goals. We didn’t know what we were doing at all and he guided us through the entire process, helping us find exactly what we wanted and needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing I can think of. The whole process was easy and fun, and the end product was great. I could only encourage people to hire Percepted because they gave us exactly what we needed when we needed it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be really clear and open. If you don’t have any ideas, don’t worry about it because they’ve got plenty to work with. If you know what you want, the team is really good at implementing your vision and is extremely easy to communicate with.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Aeroflow Healthcare is a Durable Medical Equipment provider (DME) with a national footprint and large online presence. My postion at the time was as Marketing Director and I project managed the project from the Aeroflow side.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Percepted?

We hired Percepted for a Corporate Identity refresh.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals in this Corporate Identity refresh included a new logo and company tagline. We wanted to keep the original essence of our logo and tagline but update it for the size company we have become and introduce some new colors and fonts to our brand guidelines.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had worked with Matt on a few projects years back when I was with 1800wheelchair.com and had a good experience. Their proposal fit our budget and timeline so we decided to move forward with Percepted.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

After a discovery period, Percepted workshopped some concepts and ideas that I was able to take back to the larger team. After a few rounds of revisions we arrived at a logo, timeline and brand guidelines that everyone was happy with, without too extreme of a change for our company.

What was the team composition?

I worked directly with Matt and his brother

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I think what makes this project a success, was that our Executive Team and general employees were not excited to hear that our logo and corporate identity would be changing but our Marketing staff new that what we had was outdated.

We were able to transition to a refreshed identity that gave us the modern look that reflected our company size and aspirations without any disruption to the corporate identity that our employees and customers have come accustomed to.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was good. Good communication from both sides we worked well together.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They understood our project needs, budget, and timeline and were able to deliver exactly what we wanted.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No areas for improvement at this time.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Pratt Center is a nonprofit urban planning organization that works with grassroots, community-based organizations in New York City on projects that promote racial, economic and environmental justice. I lead Pratt Center's communications efforts, including design and production of our website, research publications, and promotional materials.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Percepted?

We had recently worked with a previous firm on the design for a new website, but they proved difficult to work with. Percepted picked up the project, implemented the design, and became our principal web developer. Since 2015, they have helped us on multiple web projects including a special section celebrating our 50th Anniversary, a refresh of our homepage, a new section to highlight our Fellowship opportunities, and design and development of several affiliate sites including the Urban Manufacturing Alliance, Made in NYC and the Equitable Innovation Economies initiative.

What were your goals for this project?

Overall Goal To develop potential new ideas for enhancing our online presence as well as general website and Drupal support and maintenance. Example Project 1 50 Things: To create an interactive gallery page to showcase various artifacts from our 50 year history and invite supporters to a series events we hosted throughout that year. Example Project 2 Equitable Innovation Economies: Create a website to host and disseminate findings and resources resulting from a multi-year project that engaged practitioners in four U.S. cities to devise and pilot more equitable approaches to economic development programming.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Our Director of Development knew of Percepted from a previous workplace.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

50 Things Campaign: Services provided: Wire-frames, design concepts, and development, testing and de-bugging Pratt Center home-page: Services provided: Website development including News, Research and Projects, front-end and back-end Equitable Innovation Economies Website: Services provided: Home-page and Resource page design, development testing and launch, Newsletter subscribe form and download sign-up integration with Mailchimp; Mobile fixes Fellowship Opportunities Section: Services provided: Consulting, wireframes, design and development of home-page, Project page with secondary navigation menu, Front-end and back-end.

What was the team composition?

We worked with Matt who took the lead on project coordination and Chris who led the design work. Percepted worked closely with a third-party for development portions of projects.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our Equitable Innovation Economies website resulted in great publicity for a highly innovative project. One of our affiliate organizations which collaborated on the project, eventually hired Percepted to create a replica of the EIE section on their their website, which Percepted designed.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Projects generally kick off with a call to establish goals and go over design parameters. Percepted would email a list of tasks for follow up with responsible parties and deadlines assigned. Percepted's team works very hard to establish clarity around deadlines and delivers projects within the timeframe discussed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Percepted was highly responsive to our needs, no matter the level of a project's complexity, and was able to provide quick turn around when requested. Having this kind of flexibility and familiarity allowed us take on large and small projects, with the confidence that our work would be conveyed clearly and appealingly.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We have found Percepted to be very open to feedback when problems arise. They are eager to address issues and work with you to develop solutions.
