Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the Communications Director at Entelligent, a financial technology company. I help with internal and external communications (B2B and marketing).

Entelligent is working with a new, innovative algorithm to help institutional investors with assets under management, helping to optimize their portfolios for carbon reduction into the future.


What challenge were you trying to address with People Productions?

We were struggling to make the highly technical nature of our messaging compelling and understandable. The goal was to create a video that could be used to seek investment and as a broad marketing tool. We don't have a large technical department with video production capabilities, so we needed a creative and high-quality production company to help us with that kind of messaging.


What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us in every aspect of creating an animated video that's about 2 minutes in length.

Initially, we provided People Productions with an idea for a script and some of the verbiage that we wanted to capture, so they could become familiar with the technical aspects of our company. After we outlined a storyline that we thought might work, they were able to reinvent it and create beautiful copy that captured the essence of what we do. They created a video that was emotionally compelling and informational, while meeting all of our needs.

They also provided voiceover assistance by providing options of narrators to choose from. We went back and forth until we found exactly what we wanted.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 3 people directly: 2 project managers and another person who managed the graphics and video production.

How did you come to work with People Productions?

We had a couple other vendors approach us with proposals, but they seemed less professional or developed by comparison. We weren't happy with the quality of their work, so we looked online and found People Productions, which not only had a great portfolio of material but was located close by in Boulder, CO. After we reached out to them and received a proposal, we were convinced that they were the right company for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested about $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from around September to November of 2017.


What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We received extremely positive feedback in sharing the video as we pushed B2B and marketing efforts and met with investors. People often comment that the video is “compelling” and that they “really understand the business now.”

We haven't been promoting the video outside of sharing it with specific people, so the number of views it's received is not a telling statistic. The verbal feedback, however, has all been great.

How did People Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

The proposal was accurate and they were able to help us complete the project on time and within budget.

Their ability to communicate with us was impeccable.We worked with a couple of point people who were skilled at keeping the project on track, letting us know if any changes we entertained were going to effect timelines or costs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work is superior to the other video productions companies we had seen.

They exceeded expectations and were able to take a simple script and transform it into a compelling story. Their ability to creatively portray our technical narrative helped us reach the people we wanted to reach. I appreciated their ability to step up and do the heavy lifting that we couldn't do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind right off the bat.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let them do their job by giving them full license to be creative and generative. Trust their process and creative abilities in producing high quality videos.
