The scope of work for the WordPress website project included refreshing the website's look and feel using the content from the old website. This involved giving the website a modern and updated design. Additionally, the sitemap of the website was restructured to improve user navigation and make it more user-friendly. Key deliverables for this project included:

1. Website Look and Feel Refreshed: The design of the website was updated to give it a fresh and modern look. This will involve evolving the brand color scheme, font selection, and overall visual elements. The goal was to create a visually appealing and engaging website that aligned with the brand image.
2. Restructured Website Sitemap: The existing website sitemap was reviewed and restructured to enhance user experience. This involved reorganizing the menu structure, consolidating pages, and improving the overall flow of the website. The aim was to make it easier for users to find the information they need.
3. Website Page Designs and Mockups: New page designs and mockups were created to showcase the visual elements and layout of the website. This allowed our team to visualize how the website would look before development began.
4. Optimized WordPress Backend Structure: The backend structure of the WordPress website was optimized to improve performance, security, and ease of management. The Pear Analytics team delivered most things on time or were transparent when they needed additional time to deliver things. They were very communicative and good with adjusting their work when our team provided multiple rounds of feedback.

The team has a fairly relaxed and transparent communication style, which was appreciated by our team. When we needed explanations on why they needed something in a particular way, the team was always open to providing more context or details.

I’m the president of MyRegistry, a universal gift registry business. We build gift registry systems for third-party retailers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pear Analytics?

Originally, we handled paid search campaigns in-house without a full-time position dedicated to it. Because of the constant changes being made in paid search and analytics systems, keeping up with it was a huge thorn in our side. If we didn’t invest enough in time, we lost possible conversions. But, if we focused too much on it, our efforts weren’t worth the number of leads we were generating. 

We needed someone to take our paid search to the next level while keeping up with the changing features, functionalities, and reporting capabilities of Google Analytics and other systems.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re in charge of managing all paid search campaigns. In total, they run about five different campaigns, three in the United States and two in Canada. They monitor all of them on Google Analytics, suggesting the reallocation of funds as needed. Their team is responsible for smaller, seasonal campaigns as well. In fact, we have a holiday effort coming up soon.

We’ve been successfully working together for three years. So, I recently engaged them for SEO services in addition to the paid search efforts they currently oversee. We had them pitch to our senior management and ended up giving them the business over other companies because of our positive standing engagement with them. They’ve been working on SEO for about a month, at this point. 

How did you come to work with Pear Analytics?

Because it was such a long time ago, I don’t remember exactly how we first came across them. We hired them on a three-month provisional basis to examine their fit for our company. It was fantastic, so we kept them on the team and continue to expand their responsibilities.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $50,000–$100,000 on our partnership.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2016, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have very clear guidelines on what we’re willing to spend on a customer through paid search. When we hired Pear Analytics, it was really out of control. They’ve not only reined it in but taken immediate action if anything spikes. For instance, only one of the United States campaigns has ever gone over our guidelines. When that happened, the team pulled it back almost instantly.

They consistently keep the cost of our campaigns over our price ceiling. In addition to their paid search work, early indications are looking positive on the SEO front.

If a campaign is performing very well, sometimes they’ll suggest pulling funds from other efforts to leverage that success. Regardless, they always let me know where we stand through thorough reporting.  

How did Pear Analytics perform from a project management standpoint?

My account manager is fantastic at keeping everything running in a stable, orderly fashion. I’ve been very impressed with her professionalism and how she services our account. Communicating through phone and email, they’ve been great at meeting deadlines and following our requirements as a unit.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The biggest indicator of our satisfaction is with their services is our choice to give them more business, putting them in charge of our SEO efforts. They have a deep knowledge of digital marketing that they’re sharing with us to help restructure our process. They’re here to help us, never doing any tricks or shortcuts in their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a small rocky period about a year and a half ago. At that time, there was some employee turnover that caused minor issues. Since then, our relationship has been perfectly stable, which is very important to us. In a world where turnover is increasing, the fact that I’ve had the same account manager since that time is very impressive.

They developed the campaigns within LinkedIn as well as Google Adwords, helped develop targeted keywords and placed all relevant ads. They also provided reporting to show how campaigns were performing.

We worked with various people across our contract with Pear. This included the CEO, an account manager and someone who checked in with the fundamentals of our partnership.

We were able to achieve a cost per conversion well under expectations that lead to an increase in advertising investment.
