BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the COO of Gaming Corps, a casino games development company focusing on a wide range of online casino games.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Paracod?

We have been working with Paracod for a couple of years now. We first started working together as we were presented with an opportunity to build a new game type that we did not have resources internally to develop so had to find a reliable external partner to work with. We were aware of their previous work and they came highly recommended to us.

Towards the end of that product development, another opportunity presented itself which again we were not able to move resources too and we knew straight away that given the speed and quality with which the first product was developed, we could 100% trust Paracod to deliver at short notice. Not only were they able to develop the game from scratch, but they had the expertise to support UI design and other elements that helped create a better product then we could give the time too.

This game has been incredibly successful for us and they have since supported us in bringing a number of different skins of the game and helping us to continue to develop and upgrade the engine upon which they are built.

Due to the quality of their work, we have also engaged a number of other projects with there team including the building of tournament tools, our finance module and a new modular UI design and functionality that goes over all our new slot games which saves us week of development with each release. They are very flexible and we will continue to use them for whatever projects and upgrades we will have in the future.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had seen other games they had previously worked on that were similar products and had good recommendations from our local manager in Ukraine. They were also very confident in committing to tight deadlines and they have repaid that faith everytime.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

An opportunity to build a very popular game for a market leading operator came to us at very short notice and we didn't have the internal resources. We were recommended Paracod as they had perviously worked on a similar product and we were confident they could deliver our vision.

We had initial kick-off calls to scope out the project but a lot of the development work was adhoc as being such short notice, it wasn't fully scoped out from the start but they were able to be flexible and work with our changes as the project went on. As the engine was being developed alongside the artwork, they were able to get it to a good position that we could plug the artwork and sounds in as and when they were ready.

Generally speaking the industry standard for this type of product would have been closer to 4-6 months but with the support of Paracod we were able to release the game within 3 months and with having multiplayer servers to connect this added an extra layer of complex.

The second project we worked on again came at very short notice but incredibly they were able to work in parallel with our art team to deliver our first mines product in 4/5 weeks. Even more impressive is that another opportunity presented itself to us on August 9th 2021 where our biggest customer had been let down by another game provider and asked if we could rework our mines game for them ASAP. 2 days later we had managed to reskin the game and release it on 11th August 2021.

We managed to provide the artwork and Paracod were able to build it in a incredibly short notice and release the next day. What is mindblowing is this 2 day game is our most successful game to date and continues to be a market leading product.

Since those games we have had many other games and projects together where we are missing a product manager to properly scope things such as tournament tools and our finance module, they have been able to work with a very limited description of what is required and bring it to life to have industry standard products.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We've worked with 5 people in total, 2 Frontend Developers, 1 Backend Developer, 1 UI/UX Specialist and 1 Project Manager who is also a Senior Developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Without the help of Paracod, we would not have been able to capitalize on the opportunities that were put in front of us. Subsequently the products we have build with them have become our top performing titles and the biggest success story we've had thus far. These games have thrust us to the forefront of the industry and seen us as one of the fastest growing providers out there.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication has always been very good with their team. Their English skills are very good and we've never had a problem with misunderstandings. On our side we haven't always been able to give them the most detailed scope for the projects but they've managed to work with the limited detail we have provided and built products that would normally be run but entire product teams.

They are always available and can jump on calls at short notice to clarify points. The accuracy of their work is very precise so normally there are not many bugs to fix if any at all so it makes the whole workflow very straight forward.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed and quality with which they can deliver. I look across our industry and there aren't many that could deliver the way that Paracod has. Also they are great at offering their own insights and experience to help improve all aspects of the product. They have definitely had a key impact on why the products have performed so well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall, I honestly couldn't have asked for a better service. We haven't always been the easiest to deal with ourselves as we have very much been in a startup mode when all the processes aren't in place but Paracod have been a huge part of our journey to where we are now and continue to work in harmony with us. We think of them more as part of our team then an outsourced extra resource as they are and have always been so key to the production of our content.
