Joe & Seph's are a family business who launched in 2010 with a mission to produce the best tasting popcorn in the world. All of our popcorn and caramel sauces are handmade in London by a small team of pastry chefs. We have a range of over 50 flavours of popcorn, 10 caramel sauces and are proud to have won over 40 Great Taste Awards! My name is Bea, I work as Head of Marketing & Brand at Joe & Seph'.
For what projects/services did your company hire Palm, and what were your goals?
We hired Palm to take over our overall PR strategy and to execute this strategy. At the beginning of every quarter we agree campaign KPIs with Palm which relate to our upcoming marketing activations.
How did you select this vendor?
Joe & Seph's is over 10 years old and therefore we have plenty of experience working with PR agencies. Having contacted several PR agencies with experience in our industry, we had a short call with Palm and then asked them to pitch for the account. Their pitch showed the depth of their expertise and commitment to the brand.

We are working with Palm across both a Food PR campaign and an Influencer Marketing campaign. Every quarter they propose a PR strategy, they draft press releases and contact relevant journalists. They organise sample drops to journalists and secure coverage in the publications we have identified as important. They also organise our Influencer Marketing Campaign, including monthly drops. Lastly, they track the exposure generated and report on all activity thoroughly.

We work closely with Amber Wheatley and Hannah Sollosi whom both act as our account managers and I correspond with on a daily basis. There is also a wider team working on our account delivering further assistance and advice, which includes founder Liam.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Palm have exceeded the set KPIs every quarter. Generating really impressive coverage, in particular at Easter in the Evening Standard which helped our Chocolate Popcorn Egg sell out!

As well as press outreach across brand, product and founder media coverage, they have implemented a strategic TikTok influencer campaign which has been successful in driving awareness and great content with the right communities We look forward to continuing to work with the Palm team.

For what projects/services did your company hire Palm PR?
We hired Palm for the launches of various products and brands, PR, social media content management, photography, videography and press events.
What were your goals for this project?
Our aims were to successfully launch each brand with enough reach to win a core customer base to build upon, as well as find a voice and content style for each brand, bar, restaurant.
How did you select this vendor?
We had worked with Emily and her team before on other projects and were always satisfied with the work that Palm provided. We had also tried out some other agencies in the mean time however we had always found Palm to produce the most consistent results.

Palm provided PR Services to launch the brands which included press releases, content building, photography, videography as well as developing a brand 'voice'. They then managed the social media output for the first 6-12 months on a monthly retainer.
This included weekly and monthly reports as well as submitting everything for approval before posting. They hosted launch events with local celebrities, press and also introduced many contacts and clients (both individual and corporate) to us to help us expand our customer base.
What was the team composition?
We dealt with a few members of their team, mostly Hannah who is amazing, but also Emma, Harriet, and Liam. Josh and Ben from time to time to help with some content. We always felt comfortable with any member of the Palm team as they were always professional and had great experience and training.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The launch of BYOC saw us covered with a full page spread in the metro newspaper in London. This led to us becoming fully booked for the next 4 months with 6000 booking enquiries.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
As a principle I can be quite trusting, so I was happy to just let them do their thing and take their recommendations. They're extremely creative which was exactly what we were looking for.
This made working with them extremely easy as they could just get on with the work and bring things to us for approval. Very rarely did we disagree on things they brought to us, but even when we did disagree, they were always quick to find a resolution.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
It's always great to see a company that is led from the front and involves the whole team so that they can each contribute to projects. It gives the best creative output and results for their clients. This has led to incredible consistency over the years, something that not many other firms can match.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I dont think they can improve in what they do. I used to thing that PR was expensive for what you seem to get, however, when you tally up the continued ROI over the years and the constant feed of clients and customers it can bring, it really is worth every penny. Especially if you really have a good grasp on your business.
They understand this, and whilst it is very difficult to communicate and even quantify in the long term, when you really look at it, the ROI is so impressive, even just in terms of brand perception.

We were ultimately looking to grow brand awareness for a new brand. This involved utilising both online and offline channels and employing the media and influencers to increase awareness of the brand and its products.

We wanted to grow brand awareness and in turn build customer loyalty and repeat purchase. The first step towards this was ensuring consumers were aware of the new brand and then encouraging them to purchase the products.

We began by discussing with Palm exactly what we wanted to achieve. From here, Palm outlined a 6-month digital and offline strategy that was to be implemented for the new brand.
Palm utilised their media contacts to grow awareness and increase our brand following. Our initial goal was to achieve 55 coverage points. Palm also managed all online advertising for the brand. For digital marketing, Palm set out various campaigns which focused on both reach to increase awareness and driving web traffic to increase sales.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a set team appointed by Palm for brand promotion project. This involved different team members who we could contact for both PR and digital marketing.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our social media following grew from 0 to 17,000 on Facebook and to over 1,000 on Instagram. In relation to our digital advertising, Palm set out a series of advertising campaigns which involved goals of reaching consumers to increase awareness and increasing web traffic to increase sales.
In total, both yielded satisfactory results, and exceeded our original expectations. Our initial goal was to garner 55 PR coverage points for the brand which was exceeded as 63 points were achieved. Thanks to Palm PR, we achieved a wide range of coverage on reputable publications and from online influencers.

Workflow between all parties was effective. Palm were always quick at responding to any queries. Any feedback we provided was always taken on board and implemented.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Palm are very versed in digital advertising and social media marketing.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Covid-19 inhibited a lot of original ideas and plans we had for the new brand. The one thing we would say is better communication regarding the implementation of some project aspects.
