Mobile App Development for Tech Startup
the project
“It's been so easy to work with them, which is often hard in this space.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm a product owner of Veygo, which is a tech startup within the Admiral Group that provides short-term insurance products to customers in the UK.
What challenge were you trying to address with Pagepro?
We're looking to diversify our products and find new ways to solve problems for customers. Pagepro is helping us build a new proposition by developing a mobile app to help learner drivers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We want to create an app to helps new drivers who have never driven before to learn in the fastest and safest way. As a result, we designed the concept and put together a list of key features that we thought customers would like — things like a progress tracker, a lesson tracker with reminders, a test countdown, and lots of other educational content like videos and articles.
Pagepro built the prototype for us using React Native. We use Firebase, Sanity, and Google Analytics to track all of the data. The prototype is being run through TestFlight, but it's not publicly available because we wanted to do a closed test to get feedback for the MVP. For the MVP, we've got a long list of features, like being able to do a Mock theory test, find an instructor, track your journey, and more.
They've basically built a customer dashboard so users can look at the journey and see how well they've done and get reminders of all the good things they did while they were learning. They also have the ability to get badges and rewards to share the journey with friends. The final app will be available for iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
We work with Krzysztof (CEO), Tatiana (Business Developer), Michal (Project Manager), and two developers. It's quite a small development team, but they’ve managed to build a lot.
How did you come to work with Pagepro?
We reached out to 2–3 development companies, but we were really struck by how Pagepro was able to keep things simple while still explaining to us how they would deliver the idea that we had. We didn’t have any other complications; they checked all the boxes and also were very affordable — for us, it just made perfect sense to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve invested £28,000 (approximately $40,000 USD). By the end of the project, it's probably going to double up.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since October 2020. Pagepro is still developing the app, so the collaboration will last for another six months at least.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We tried to keep things as simple as possible because it can get very complicated when you talk about software development. That’s an underrated skill that Pagepro has. They are able to simplify things. The main thing we wanted from them was to deliver things quickly and with quality. They were able to deliver the prototype we asked for in six weeks.
We are able to spend the last couple of weeks refining things and adding in any data that we need. They’ve been quick, and they always deliver at the end of each two-week sprint. That is an important metric for us. There have also been very minimal bugs that they've needed to fix — the quality is excellent from the first time.
How did Pagepro perform from a project management standpoint?
They are fantastic at project management. Michal always keeps us in the loop and is always available to call in and talk about things. Whenever there’s a problem, he always comes up with a solution. He’s become autonomous and has made decisions that he then runs past us. He's been crucial in meeting deadlines and being the bridge between us and the developers — I can’t praise him enough.
We've used Slack of late which has been helpful, but we communicate mostly through Outlook. We've also had Google Meets and face-to-face meetings to talk about things. Finally, we also use Teamwork, which is a project management tool like Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed by their ability to deliver quickly and keep things super simple. Nothing is overcomplicated, the scope is always crystal clear, and there is no drama. If there's ever a problem they find a solution — it's been so easy to work with them which is often hard in this space.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything. They're wonderful at communicating. They’ve got a good work ethic and the project management process is really easy to follow. Not only that, but they involve everyone and are really cost-effective, so we don’t have any complaints.
Any advice for potential customers?
I would say definitely hire them. In terms of getting the most out of them, if you are clear with what you want, that's what will be delivered.

Increase Website Conversions with Jamstack
Objective:
- Create a new, modern web visual identity consistent with the brand book
- Build a future-proof, flexible website that supports the business strategy
When Kiwi Storage reached us, they had an established brand but wanted to reach a wider audience and automate the storage ordering process by integrating the third-party system. In other words, they wanted to make their website the main source of lead generation.
They weren't satisfied with the WordPress website they owned, because they have to strongly rely on developers and manually deal with the enquiries, which was ineffective and time-consuming.
Making a website the main lead source requires a high-security, fast and scalable solution, so migration to Jamstack was the perfect match.
Services provided:
- Jamstack development
- Next.js development
- Sanity as a Headless CMS
- On-site SEO Optimization
Kiwi aspires to rebuild the website into an e-commerce platform with a customer accounts creator. That's why we decided to build the website with Next.JS, as it's the clear winner for projects where you want to interact with users and have the ability to support custom features.
We decided to go headless to give the content creators full control over the content appearance and information architecture and make the content easily adaptable to future modifications.
The results speak for themselves:
- LCP decreased from 2.9s to 456 ms
- TBT from 430 ms to 144 ms
- performance from 41 points grew to 99.
What's more, we were responsible for the UX and UI design. Read more about the project here: https://pagepro.co/kiwi-storage.html

- Creating high-resolution visuals to attract potential customers
Lyngen North is a family business, offering accommodation in glass igloos and houses with uninterrupted views towards the Lyngen Alps and Lyngenfjord.
The customer has a technical background, so he knew that he wanted to build a page with modern technology and get away from WordPress, which he found hideous and hard to maintain, especially in terms of managing the functionalities and integrations.
The main challenge of this project was to keep the high SEO ranks after the migration and create high-res visuals that won’t influence the page speed.
Services provided:
- Jamstack development
- Gatsby.js development

- On-site SEO optimization
Since we have worked with Jamstack projects for over 10 years now, we’ve built a strict and effective Jamstack delivery process that consists of 4 main phases: Discovery, Design, Development & Testing and Launching.

When Green Custard reached us, their existing website was already built with Jamstack. The User Experience wasn’t bad, but because of the chosen tech stack, they struggle with scalability, new pages creation and content management.
They wanted to get a new, one-of-a-kind website that would reflect their knowledge of the latest technologies and wide experience in that field.

When they reached us, they were a new brand and wanted to reach the audience with a super-fast and future-proof website. They wanted to build it with React, and we knew that Jamstack with the headless CMS was the best match here.
Services provided:
- Jamstack development
- Gatsby.js development
- Prismic as a headless CMS
During the tech stack consideration we realised that the most useful tool to build the project would be Gatsby.JS as the customer didn't require any dynamic elements. We also chose Prismic for the Headless CMS, as it strongly supports multi-language websites.
To fulfil the project we created a blog on WordPress for an easy and intuitive blog admin experience.

Software Dev for Legal Tech Startup
"PagePro was very easy to communicate with."

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Co-Founder & CEO of Just In Case Estates, a legal tech startup that makes estate planning easy and enjoyable for everyday Americans.
For what projects/services did your company hire Pagepro, and what were your goals?
We hired PagePro to continue the custom build out of our backend document generation processes and extend support of the new Just In Case Estates members portal.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
PagePro nailed development and completion of a previous project that we did with them in 2021, and so it was an easy decision to engage them for our next scope of work.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We worked with PagePro on a previous engagement, and so the PP team was already familiar with our infrastructure and able to dive right in to the project. PagePro refactored the node.js document generation scripts we previously built to work for both initial user form submission and subsequent form / data editing in the members portal.
To empower our new members portal, PagePro helped launch our custom API to allow for easy data transfer between the FE members portal (React) and our AWS RDS database. The final product allows Just In Case Estates members to create and manage their estate plans with ease.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We initially worked with a 3-person project team -- FE eng, BE eng, and project manager. Following the onboarding of an additional FE eng on our internal team, we condensed the PagePro project team down to working directly 1:1 with a senior full-stack engineer, who led the BE development and provided additional support to our FE engs.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We launched the production-ready version on-time and on-budget, with a massive increase in user satisfaction.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
PagePro was very easy to communicate with. We managed the project in TeamWork, had regular standups via Zoom, and communicated on Slack for other miscellaneous questions and clarifications.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We had direct access to the PagePro team, which made communication very straightforward. We also were able to adjust the scope and committed team size to better fit with our growing internal team.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We enjoyed working with PagePro on this engagement and would readily work with them again.

Custom Web Development for Estate Planning Company
“Apart from their technical skill and proficiency, which I really appreciate, Pagepro is very honest.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Just In Case Estates, a recently launched startup in the estate planning space in the US. We create last will testaments, living trusts, advance healthcare directives, and other legal documents of that nature.
What challenge were you trying to address with Pagepro?
We needed help with web development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Pagepro has helped us build a website, and they’ve been instrumental in laying the groundwork for our new web application. We’ve also launched a CMS, into which they’ve coded various documents.
The web app uses a third-party system for the frontend. On it, users fill in their information, which then passes through the custom code developed by Pagepro to generate the legal documents.
What is the team composition?
We work with a small team at Pagepro led by Chris (CEO & CTO). The team includes two senior developers, one for the frontend and one for the backend, and a junior developer for the backend as well.
How did you come to work with Pagepro?
I found Pagepro through a Google search of development agencies specializing in React, and I invited them and a handful of other agencies to bid on my project.
Through a series of conversations in the RFP stage, I got to know Pagepro well. Although some of the other agencies offered more economical pricing on their bids, I chose Pagepro because I was very impressed with the level of detail and thought they put into their proposal. It was clear that they had a solid understanding of what I needed and how to get there.
Additionally, I instantly hit it off with Chris (CEO & CTO), Tatiana (Business Development Lead), and the Pagepro devs who supported their bid. I could tell that I would enjoy working with this team from a personal perspective over the coming months.
Based on their tech capabilities, well conceived project plan, and personable team, engaging Pagepro was an easy decision, and I'm very happy with how our relationship has progressed.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested about $30,000 in Pagepro projects.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Pagepro took us from a start-from-scratch to product launch.
We conducted rigorous testing to validate the efficacy of the product that Pagepro built, and I’m very pleased with the results. Overall, we feel very good about their work.
How did Pagepro perform from a project management standpoint?
Pagepro’s project management is great; we’re very satisfied with them in that regard. Chris has acted as the project manager, and he and his team are very communicative. Whenever we face unanticipated challenges, we quickly discuss what needs to be done and how to resolve them.
We use Teamwork for the core of project management, and we leverage other collaboration tools. We communicate through Slack and Teamwork, and we have short 10-minute Zoom or Google Meet meetings twice a week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Apart from their technical skill and proficiency, which I really appreciate, Pagepro is very honest. Having a partner that we can trust and get to know has been critically important for us, especially since we’re working with a remote team. I trust them, and I’m very confident about their work, so I would highly recommend them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. We’ve faced some unexpected challenges that have pushed the timelines back a little bit, but I don’t attribute those to Pagepro. Those challenges are part of the nature of these engagements, and Pagepro has been very proactive in their resolution, so I’m satisfied with how they handle those situations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My one piece of advice for potential customers is the common sense reminder to make sure that you have a solid understanding of the required resources and timeline for your project.
Pagepro is not a 100+ person dev farm, and therefore you may find it difficult to spin up lots of additional resources if you misjudge the requirements and Pagepro doesn't immediately have the extra bandwidth to fill it.
The "plus" side of Pagepro's smaller size is that -- even as a young, upstart company like Just In Case Estates -- you'll receive great attention and care on your project that you simply won't get at a larger firm.
If you believe you've got a good handle on your requirements and Pagepro has the bandwidth to supply it, then absolutely go for it. I have no reservations recommending them, and have already done so to several other friends and contacts in my network.

Website Development for Software Consultancy
"Pagepro’s team was accommodating, and they even did small tasks outside of our contract."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and director of a software consultancy, and we do bespoke software development.
What challenge were you trying to address with Pagepro?
We had an outdated website, and although we could develop the site ourselves, our team was busy. We needed help developing a new website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Pagepro developed our new website using Sanity. The implementation and layout were done from scratch, but they reused text and images from our previous site. They refreshed our pages and gave them a new look and feel. Additionally, they moved our platform to a new CMS.
Pagepro had already delivered the site, and they ensured that we were happy with it.
What is the team composition?
We spoke with four teammates, including project managers and technical resources.
How did you come to work with Pagepro?
We looked for web design agencies through a Google search. We shortlisted three, and they all sent us proposals. We chose Pagepro because they passed our technical test, and their offer matched how we wanted the website to be done. In addition, we liked the flexibility of their package.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $10,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from March–September 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Pagepro’s website scored highly on Google Lighthouse, which meant it was accessible and would perform well on Google Search. Overall, we were pleased with their work, considering our budget wasn’t too big.
How did Pagepro perform from a project management standpoint?
Pagepro was very good at project management. Despite that, they weren’t able to finish the website on time. We collaborate through weekly meetings, emails, and Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Pagepro’s team was accommodating, and they even did small tasks outside of our contract.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust them — you can put yourself in their hands.

Web Development & SEO for Cryptocurrency Company
"They kept their word and worked hard to achieve those metrics."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager at Localcoin, a cryptocurrency ATM company based in Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with Pagepro?
We were looking to rebuild our existing website with a new Jamstack architecture.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Pagepro completely rebuilt our entire website and deployed it. We provided some documentation and explained what we were looking for, and they responded with a Gantt chart that broke down the project. Additionally, they created their own technical documentation that narrowed down how they would build the site we wanted.
The Pagepro team used a React framework called Next.js to develop the site and Prismic as a CMS. They also utilized Theme UI for the theming process. Some of the site’s features included announcement banners, a map widget, and our forms, which they redesigned. The mad widget was particularly vital to us because it pinpointed the user’s location and where they can find our ATMs in the area. The site was also available in different languages. Additionally, they worked on the site’s SEO.
Although the development process is finished, the team continues to add new features. They also provide inputs on the UI/UX design and the tech stack.
What is the team composition?
We mainly worked with three people: a UI/UX designer, a lead developer, and the CEO, who acted as the project manager. At some point, about five people were working on the project because a few more developers hopped on the project when we needed to push things a bit further.
How did you come to work with Pagepro?
We found them on Clutch and checked out their blogs. We noticed that their pages and blog posts were in the top three results on Google, which was essential to us because we were looking to improve our SEO. Aside from the excellent blog content, the team seemed knowledgeable and offered reasonable prices, so we proceeded with hiring them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $16,000. Currently, we’re in a service-level agreement (SLA) and pay them $1,500 a month.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from February–June 2021. The development is done, but we’re still in close communication due to the SLA.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They did a good job. The team helped us achieve the KPIs we set for the project, including high Google Lighthouse scores, a lighter website, increased speed, and better SEO ranking. Our map widget was also much faster. The upgraded tech stack has made the deployment process much simpler.
How did Pagepro perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was great — they were organized and used their own task management software, which allowed us to communicate quite effectively. Pagepro delivered everything we asked for and stuck to their estimated price.
In terms of communication, we used their task management tool and email. We also had check-in calls via Google Meet twice every month.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Pagepro exhibited strong execution. They understood our technical goals and our desired performance metrics, and they kept their word and worked hard to achieve those metrics. The team was also very detail-oriented, and they did an excellent job translating what we wanted into features and bug fixes.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve on setting more accurate timelines or working more efficiently to hit their deadlines. Unfortunately, we went a bit over their estimated timeline.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very open with your communication and be specific on exactly what you want. Utilize their task management software, as well. The more actively you work with Pagepro, the better the results are going to be. Additionally, be prepared to adjust to their time zone as they’re based in Poland.

Mobile App Development for Tech Startup
“It's been so easy to work with them, which is often hard in this space.”

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am an Business Development Manager in Aurora Creation - Software house for e-commerce specialized in Magento development.
For what projects/services did your company hire Pagepro, and what were your goals?
We’ve hired Pagepro to help us in web development for one of our clients, in a specific front end technology (Jamstack). Our client is an e-commerce website, that wanted to have a fully customized storefront in a specific Jamstack technology with headless Magento. We then needed a Jamstack developer to help us deliver such an interface.
How did you select Pagepro and what were the deciding factors?
Pagepro was recommended to us by our friendly business. After a short explanation on how they will approach the task, I deeply understood what needs to be done, and how we will execute the project step-by-step. That convinced me the most.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
One of our clients wanted to implement a demanding user interface that was hard to make by just using Magento. We then decided to use Magento as a headless backend, and use Jamstack as the front end layer that enabled us to build the user experience our client really wanted. One of Pagepro developers joined us and immediately felt like a great extension of our project team. We were working in short sprints.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two of our Magento developers, Pagepro developer, Project Manager and me as an Account Manager.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After the successful implementation of the user interface, the client was happy and decided on a further cooperation with us.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
In general, it was very effective, as I knew exactly on which stage we are, and even deeply technical stuff didn’t make me feel left behind.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The way they explained technical stuff in such an easy-to-understand manner was impressive. I could easily pass it on to the final client, which made us all feel comfortable and in control. All the work been done exactly on time, with a well-prepared explanation of what’s been done on a particular step.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Cannot think of anything specific.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We're a seed stage startup offering car rental as a service, exclusively for electric vehicles. As a co-founder and CTO, I was in charge of developing the application.
For what projects/services did your company hire Pagepro?
As an early stage startup, we had many things to handle and needed some temporary external help.
What were your goals for this project?
Developing a fully-featured mobile application in a short period of time.
How did you select Pagepro?
We talked to multiple agencies, reviewed their online presence, and discussed with the engineers in house. Pagepro was reactive and we were very happy with the developer we were working with.
Describe the project in detail.
We developed a mobile application, both on iOS and Android, fully based on React Native with a Firebase backend, and a GraphQL API. Our application had a great focus on usability and user experience, as well as maintaining a positive brand presence.
What was the team composition?
CTO (myself) and React Native mobile engineer (from Pagepro).
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were extremely happy with the developer that we were working.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The developer was very friendly, competent, and reactive.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Overall, Pagepro was very reactive as a company.
Are there any areas for improvement?
That's a symptom of agencies like Pagepro, developers are always presented as more senior than they really are. We loved the guy we were working for though, albeit, more mid-level than senior as advertized by the agency. Also, the communication via the agency wasn't very transparent.
We learned that the developer was about to move on to another company, as we had a very good and trustworthy communication with him. However, the agency never told us that our main point of contact was about to leave the company. A bit of lack of communication & trust here. No hard feeling though. Project was efficient overall. And again, huge congrats to the dev we worked with.

We worked directly with two members of the PagePro team: one project manager and a lead developer.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There's nothing I can think of that could have improved our experience working with PagePro on this project.
