Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO & co-founder of Flo Technologies. We create water monitoring and control solutions for the home to help prevent catastrophic water damage, save money, and save water.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Ozan Karakoc Design Studio?

We needed to build brand awareness, for homeowners as well as corporations such as insurance companies.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a logo. They helped create a brand identity that is new wave, and fits in the technology space. They took the time to understand different aspects of the business, such as the need for installation of our product and how to make it homeowner friendly while also business-facing. They presented design solutions and were behind every step of the process in creating the brand. This includes the design of the box the product came in. 

What is the team composition?

Ozan (Founder) is our primary contact for all things brand-related. We also do work with a few designers on other projects.

How did you come to work with Ozan Karakoc Design Studio?

Our CTO knew Ozan and recommended him for the project. I found them to be the most responsive and capable of all the companies I considered.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested less than $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2015, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve created brand awareness – people recognize our logo. We’re in tens of thousands of homes and have raised millions of dollars in funding. We’re a leader in this space now. 

How did Ozan Karakoc Design Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They did an excellent job. We spoke daily at first, but now we talk every couple of weeks. They’re very responsive, on top of details, and set aggressive timelines which they meet. I never have to worry about sending a project to them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ozan has great design sense that I trust. He listened and understood our needs, and has maintained consistency from our original vision throughout the years. He keeps up and meets our expectations in this fast-moving technological space.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In general, set a clear budget for the project, and monitor it regularly.
