Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the marketing and operations manager at an industrial water equipment supplier based in Omaha, Nebraska.

What challenge were you trying to address with Oxide Design Co.

We were looking for a new website. We wanted a design that told our story as a family-run business while also generating traffic and leads.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Oxide Design Co. designed a website using WordPress and Flywheel. Their team helped design a brand for our dealerships and integrated that with the new website. They also provided easy-to-manage backend functionality and detailed layouts. Their development of the site also assisted us in moving forward with choices for fonts, color schemes, and merchandise designs. 

What is the team composition?

Oxide Design Co. had a small team of designers and developers that worked with us.

How did you come to work with Oxide Design Co.?

After conducting interviews with different web designers we found online in the Omaha area, we chose Oxide Design Co. They had the best understanding of the challenges we were facing and spoke to us in a less technical way than the other companies. They were the best fit for our company and our people-focused approach to business.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $30,000 for the initial website design and an additional $5,000 since then for upkeep and new features we’ve added.

What is the status of this engagement?

The initial website design phase ran from April–October 2016. However, Oxide Design Co. provides ongoing support and updates.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Working with Oxide Design Co. has been the smoothest, most delightful professional experience. The new website has increased sales and e-commerce activity. Our Google Analytics shows that the website is profitable for us. 

We recuperated the investment into the website from online sales and traffic within a calendar year. We’ve also received many compliments from other dealers about our website. It’s an end product that feels ahead of the game in the three years since we’ve launched it.

How did Oxide Design Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

Oxide Design Co. was constantly communicating. They were very clear at any time that a deadline had to change. They had a developer leave during the build, but instead of delaying the project or charging us, they hired someone else right away.

What did you find most impressive about them?

All members of the team were involved in every project, which allows for unique perspectives and decision-making. They get excited to meet new people and work hard to foster a strong relationship with their clients. Their team excels at collaborating and brainstorming ideas with us. They also continue to check in on us and do thoughtful things for holidays and big events, which sets them apart from others in the industry. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say be clear and think about what you want out of your project beforehand. Trust their team and listen to them, because if it turns out great, you look like a genius because you trusted it. If anything doesn’t work out, they can take constructive criticism and find a solution.
