The main task was to create a website with a meal planner for the whole family, creating an automatic shopping list. Meals are recommended based on previous choices and defined user preferences.

We hired 2 ux designers and one project manager.

The prototypes they created were used as part of a pitch to the senior management of 3 tier one companies, helping to raise over €2m of funding for intrapreneurial projects.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched Dribbble, a competitive online community of some of the best UI/UX designers on the planet. Overlap's work stood out.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was managed entirely virtually. We had a series of meetings with Overlap to outline the intended workflow and specification of projects. We asked the internal corporate teams to build wireframes which were often ambiguous, then passed to Overlap to interpret. This required a great deal of flexibility and creativity on Overlap's part.

What was the team composition?

We (Dogpatch team) dealt with Emil and the entire crew at Overlap which aided the speed of the projects. The entire team was patient, polite and talented.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Out of 15 internal corporates, 9 received follow on fundng and were approved to proceed. Allowing senior leadership to visualise the end result was definitely a major contributing factor to their decision to proceed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I found Overflow cool under pressure and on the whole fantastic to deal with. The workflow was often ambiguous and the outputs they received often difficult to interpret. The team were patient and their talent won the day.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their capacity to interpret wireframes and transform them into beautiful results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not really. I'd be nit-picking.

The clickable prototype they delivered allowed me to clearly demonstrate the idea to potential investors. I gathered very positive feedback about it.

Even though due to different circumstances the project was spread in time quite heavily, UX Designers were always happy to pick up where we left off, offering their help on all the stages.
