me too. Movement
Founded by Tarana Burke to combat sexual violence toward women of color, the Me too. Movement organization was thrust into the spotlight when the hashtag #metoo dominated social media. However, people’s perception of the organization was not an accurate portrayal of their work. This disconnect drove Me too to reach out to Outright to craft a visual brand identity that was better aligned with the audiences they serve. Outright crafted a stunning and unique brand that was steeped in soul and inspired by African American artists. This rebrand has since been deployed across social platforms, and Outright is currently working with the Me too. Movement on a marketing plan to deploy the brand over the coming year.

YouTube Super Bowl Ad Blitz
YouTube is one of the largest digital brands in the world. Outright’s work with the company has spanned from creating motion graphics for organic and paid social platforms, to developing videos for billboards in Times Square. For YouTube’s Super Bowl Ad Blitz, Outright developed the campaign concept, logo art and flagship videos, which then turned into dozens of additional assets that YouTube used to promote the campaign. Beautyfest, the first shoppable stream event of its kind at YouTube, provided an opportunity for Outright to not only establish the overarching look and feel of the event, but also to create assets for influencers. The span of our work with YouTube includes branding concepting and development, slide deck and template creation, product promotion, simple and complex motion videos, organic and paid assets, and influencer collaboration.

Cooking Matters Brand Refresh
Cooking Matters is the second largest program at Share Our Strength next to No Kid Hungry. Cooking Matters helps parents and caregivers struggling with limited food budgets learn how to shop for and cook healthy, affordable meals–intersecting nutrition, cooking, and budgeting in an approachable way. This Snap-approved course has been a resource for local partners and underprivileged families to help them lead healthier lives for 30 years. The Cooking Matters team came to Outright to help them reimagine how to deliver their coursework in a way that is more relevant to the community they are educating. Outright has refreshed their brand design and developed a content strategy that restructures their original, outdated guide to be more flexible and inclusive.

National Institute for Reproductive Health
The National Institute for Reproductive Health was looking for a new website design that reflected their evolved brand and more clearly articulated their work and impact to partners, community members, and potential donors. Over the course of 8 months, Outright developed a custom-build Wordpress site where all elements are modular. This allows components to easily be reordered at any time, repurposed sitewide, and built with mobile in mind. The “Who We Are” page is our particular favorite, featuring an interactive timeline that portrays the impactful history of the organization. Outright is continuing our work with NIRH to update their NIRHAction website, the C4 arm of the organization.

WRI Systems Change Lab - Data Visualization
World Resources Institute (WRI) is a global research organization that works with governments, businesses, multilateral institutions and civil society groups to develop practical solutions that improve people’s lives and ensure nature can thrive. Outright worked with the Climate Program at WRI to develop an immersive data visualization called Systems Change Lab, crafted in partnership with the Bezos Earth Fund, that tells a rich story about the progress of transformations vital to our planet’s future. From conception to UX design to implementation, the Outright team developed a data visualization experience that organizes complex data into digestible insights to help mobilize action for the transformational changes required to protect both people and the planet.

Please describe your company and your position there.
The National Institute for Reproductive Health an advocacy organization that fights for just and equitable access to reproductive health care in states and cities nationwide.
For what projects/services did your company hire Outright, and what were your goals?
I am so glad we worked with Outright for our website redesign and launch. The Outright team is a pleasure to work with -- thorough, responsive, and patient with glitches on our end -- and offered clear and helpful thought partnership along the way, from website design and structure to aesthetics and the small touches. Outright provided great support with our website launch and continue to provide excellent support on an ongoing basis. As a nonprofit doing highly sensitive work, it's important to us to work with vendors we can trust -- and we had total confident in Outright. I highly recommend Outright!
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We appreciated the broad yet deep skill set among team members, and also appreciated the other similarly cause-based organizations they worked with.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had thorough discussions about our goals and needs for our website. The team then carefully walked us through how the website could be structured, showing us many options along the way. They offered us many design structures and elements, giving us options and feedback along the way while thoughtfully integrating our palettes and preferences. The Outright team then built everything in a development site for collaborative work and our review, and then successfully launched our site and have provided ongoing support since then. Our website is very dense, and Outright did a great job with seemingly endless details.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Four: VP of Technology, Project Manager, Director of Design and UX, and VP, Strategy and Partner
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We love our website design, and our audiences continue to give us compliments on it! The aesthetic is fresh, reflects our organization, and the function and structure of the site serves us very well.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Outright team members have consistently been responsive, thorough, courteous, and very patient in working with our team members who are newer to the digital spaces.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their continued and consistent responsiveness, patience, and thoroughness. Every team member we work with communicates clearly, kindly, and is a joy to talk to. We also appreciate that Outright works with several progressive cause-based organizations.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing I can think of!
Thanks to Outright's work, the client has received positive feedback from the end customer. They have successfully captured the organization's spirit through logos, videos, pictures, and written content. Communication has been prompt and effective, establishing a seamless workflow.
