Optimumbrew Technology developed a mobile app for iOS, Android, and the web that can be used by both corporate licenses and public subscribers. The team also contributed useful ideas for the design.

The app received excellent client feedback. The team assembled a strong proposal that laid out a realistic project outline and took potential complexities into account. The project manager was easy to contact, and developers stuck to the schedule, particularly responsive to requests for fixes.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the general manager of our company, which provides corporate wellbeing programs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Optimumbrew Technology?

We needed support building a mobile app for both private and public users. We also needed to build an administrator and client backend to support the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The biggest challenge was building the app it in such a way that we could use it with both corporate licenses and public subscribers. It was built for iOS, Android, and the web. We provided wireframes for the design, and Optimumbrew Technology gave us some additional recommendations.

What is the team composition?

We only ever spoke to one person, who was our central point of contact.

How did you come to work with Optimumbrew Technology?

We advertise on Upwork, and received a lot of responses to our inquiry. Optimumbrew Technology wasn't the cheapest agency, but their response really took into account some of the complexities I knew we would encounter within the project. The proposal they put forward was very realistic.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $10,000 and $15,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the business relationship in August 2017, and it ended around November 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve experienced zero crashes, and our client feedback has been fantastic. The number of downloads is all dependent upon how good or bad our market is.

How did Optimumbrew Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great at keeping us in the loop during the project. General communication and scheduling went very well. We communicated mainly through Upwork, and also used Skype. They were quite easy to contact. Although they're based in India, there were no negative consequences from a language barrier. The time zone difference was not too bad, since we're located in Australia.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was really easy to work with. They gave great recommendations whenever they thought there might be a better way of doing things. Their response times for fixes were particularly good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they had an open project management tool, that could help. Since they constantly kept us caught up, though, that really didn't matter.
