Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of a company that sells direct-to-consumer (D2C) physical products through e-commerce.

What challenge were you trying to address with OpenHuddle?

We needed website development and advertising services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

OpenHuddle’s initial strategy was to look at our branding and recommend aspects of it that needed to be changed. We used to have two separate websites, so their main recommendation was to consolidate them into a single website. During this project, we redesigned the site with their guidance. Although we designed the mockups and did the copy editing, they put the website together and built it on Shopify. Moving forward, they’ll be in charge of its maintenance.

Regarding our digital advertising, we’re currently setting everything up in Google Ads. Thus, their services include SEM and retargeting campaign creation. Most of the content is developed by our internal staff, but OpenHuddle has also helped us a little bit in that aspect.

I found OpenHuddle listed on a platform.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2021. OpenHuddle finished the website in late September 2021, but our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

OpenHuddle has been able to drive traffic to our site at $2 per click, which is a very good cost considering the industry’s range. Additionally, they’ve been able to drive about 1,000 visitors in a month, which has been the most amount of traffic we’ve ever received. Overall, we’re very satisfied with their work. Although we’ve gone through some unexpected challenges, they’ve always put all of their energy into the tasks.

How did OpenHuddle perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly meetings with OpenHuddle, and we communicate via email. We’ve also integrated them into our internal communication tools to get regular updates. For example, we’ve used Notion to move a lot of projects and know where the project stands daily.

What did you find most impressive about them?

OpenHuddle’s energy is impressive. Although there might not be an immediate solution to some of our challenges, they’re more than willing to look into them before saying they can’t and offering a different option. They never decide not to work on things that seem too difficult.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be helpful if OpenHuddle could work more independently regarding the execution of projects. They’re very good at coming up with strategies and offering solutions, but projects tend to rely on our internal team. We help a lot in copyediting and graphic design.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Consider that you’ll need to have internal resources to provide them with for the execution of projects. Working with OpenHuddle, there’s going to be needed a lot of work on your end to get things done.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO of an ad tech company in New York City. Our clients are primarily pharma brands, pharma-focused ad agencies and publishers.

For what projects/services did your company hire OpenHuddle?

Our website had evolved over the first year of our company including pre-launch, stealth-mode content. Our messaging was not organized, concise, clear or visually appealing. We hired OpenHuddle to make our website more professional with consistent design elements and clear, concise messaging that creates credibility with our audience.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for agencies that understood our specific industry niche. OpenHuddle’s experience working directly inside Pharma companies as a brand marketer as well as with multiple agencies was a deciding factor. Plus, Philippe is just very intelligent, strategic and easy to work with.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We had a couple of discovery calls, and then the first milestone was a basic site map outlining the content OpenHuddle recommended and how it would fit together.

The second milestone was a Stylescape that really brought the project to life visually. OpenHuddle generated visual design concepts that transcended anything I could have imagined, translating our brand vision into tangible visual assets that inspire our company inside and out.

The third stage was actual development. We gave OpenHuddle access to our CMS and they would make draft updates there. We had 2-3 review/feedback sessions and then pushed live! Very easy and a rewarding experience!

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with the founder Philippe as well as a range of resources across video content production to visual design and media strategy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

OpenHuddle’s collaborative process has transformed how we manifest the purpose/mission of our company to help each and every human achieve 100 years of perfect health!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was flexible and seemless. All materials were sent at least one day before each review meeting, give our team time to really digest the materials before the actual presentation and feedback meeting. That type of space to absorb and reflect on the creative materials in an environment almost identical to how the user will experience the content, was very much appreciated and rare in the agency world!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was so impressed with how OpenHuddle discovered parts of my business and brand that were meaningful but hidden, and then elevated them to a new level with strategy and design.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It was really a wonderful experience. I highly recommend OpenHuddle for brand and media strategy!
