A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of a technology automation company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Onwelo?
We were looking for a partner to augment our staff in technical delivery. We also wanted a multi-time zone team to provide around-the-clock processing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They worked on an insurance business process for one of our clients in the claims sector. They added several members of their team to ours to help develop the code for the solutions. They also helped our customer identify particular business challenges, understand the process, and do testing of that code to ultimately automate the process. We used a robotic automation software called Blue Prism. We also leveraged Microsoft Azure and APIs.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two people. One was an automation developer and the other was a project manager.
How did you come to work with Onwelo?
I learned about them through a previous company I worked with, and we stayed in touch. They had a good background and expertise in the space that we’re working with. They come from a really strong consulting background.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2020, and we wrapped up in June 2020. We still have some ongoing projects to date.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Success is measured by the time that the project took to complete as well as quality and customer satisfaction. That all went quite well for us. They hit all the timelines, and the quality met our standards.
How did Onwelo perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very structured. As far as technology goes, they’ve been a strong project management focus. Everything is very well documented upfront, and the team operated at a high level of being organized. The technical side was also managed as expected.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The process automation skill set that we were looking for was fairly new, especially in the industry. The fact that they had a deep well of talent for us to draw on was very impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could bring more cognitive solutions to the project, such as involving more machine learning and other technologies into the solution more frequently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to come with a structured challenge, so you can have a business process that’s well defined.

Data & BI Support for Multinational Bank
"We like their spirit."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of data integration services and business intelligence at a multinational bank.
What challenge were you trying to address with Onwelo?
We needed help with data and BI support.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team is mainly involved in developing BI services. At the very beginning, they were involved with some consultancy on offering assistance to our previous department leads on how to build the system and department.
After that, the relationship changed.
We have a team in Poland, and they’re supporting us mainly with DataStage development, which is ETL development around enterprise data warehouse or for other systems as well. They also support us from time to time with the operation and maintenance of our loading processes.
What is the team composition?
We have five full-time developers, one full-time architect & team lead, and one business service manager who we have sometimes.
How did you come to work with Onwelo?
Our department lead identified them. They were a young company that knew how to work with the new technology we were introducing. Their team made a great presentation that showed that they had the know-how and capabilities we needed.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with Onwelo began in January 2016.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The team at Onwelo is full of young and experienced people. We’re very pleased with the quality of the work they’re delivering. We have hiccups, but usually because of bad quality in the requirements.
We’re satisfied with them and plan to continue working with them for a long time. We have monthly releases, and they always delivered in the expected quality.
How did Onwelo perform from a project management standpoint?
In the beginning, there were a few misunderstandings, but they then got us a dedicated person to steer the full-time developer. Before COVID-19 hit, I’d go there once a month to discuss the progress, quality issues we might have, and ideas we might have together.
We have daily exchanges as well. They’re part of our team meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We like their spirit. Their team works closely together and has a life together outside of work.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There could be a better distribution of the know-how internally so that all of the colleagues have the same know-how on the processes that they develop.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I definitely recommend them because of their dedication and will. They’re hardworking people.

What challenge were you trying to address with Onwelo?
We needed a partner to help us provide project management, data management, and consultancy services to deploy our projects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We are looking for services every time we have new projects we want to deploy. Anytime we have a demand involving a data expert, an SAP or in Microsoft, or a project manager with specific expertise, we go to Onwelo and search for a suitable candidate.
What is the team composition?
I work with quite a few people within the company, though there are 2-3 people I cooperate with on a daily basis.
How did you come to work with Onwelo?
We found them through our network.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $250,000-$500,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2018 and the project is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They quickly react to any of our requests. The projects are a little different each time, but their performance is consistent. The speed and quality of their response is key for me.
How did Onwelo perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management skills are good. I’m quite satisfied. They’re quite good in terms of the breadth of their database of consultants.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They deliver excellent work. The quality is really astonishing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The range of services could be expanded. Compared to UK-based companies, they don’t have as much.
Onwelo’s work was a total success. The team delivered on time, and the quality was exceptional. Customers can expect a seasoned and talented team that is on the cutting edge of robotic process automation.
