Growthscape LLC set out to solve a few key problems in medical education, timely namely point of care feedback, and tracking growth over the continuum of medical education.  The app is designed to be easy, quick to use and aggregate feedback on a timeline that stays with the resident or medical student.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Growthscape LLC created a UX to start with and iterated on since.  OneTeam, under the direction of Raj Ven, assembled a team that would give life to this UX design using React Native, React, and Node.Js.  They developed a browser interface, and mobile interface that reaches iOS and Android.  Their work product has been outstanding with a reasonable price for the scope of work. 

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

 I have had a consistent team since the beginning which almost feels like they are part of my own company.  We meet weekly through design process and then they provide an estimate, from which we edit design and come to a final product to deliver on.  They are timely and very responsive.  Within a relative degree of latitude, changes to design are allowed without affecting the price.  But if there is a change that warrants a re-estimate, they are prompt in delivering to deliberate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In developing this solution, I am learning as I go. So far, they have delivered on all the ideas we entertained. Our solution needs to be FERPA compliant, and they have been instrumental in solving this need.

There was a situation in which I lost ALL data, not at ALL OneTeam's fault.  The server provider had a hardware failure.  There was no provision of back up by the server provider.  OneTeam was able to restore all data up to 4 weeks prior to failure, which was a considerable save.  They also suggested new safeguards moving forward which I now have implemented.

Are there any areas for improvement or something One Team US LLC could have done differently?

None come to mind.  I have given them feedback as we've worked together and they have responded well to it.

I’m the operations manager for a company that repairs semitrailers and tractors.

What challenge were you trying to address with One Team US LLC?

We were looking for a system that would take care of all our billing and collection needs and of course, our inventory and dispatching needs as well. We needed a comprehensive website that would allow us to build our customers, take care of our receivables, and track our inventory.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We reached out to One Team US for their custom software development and web development services, and they were very responsive right from the beginning. We had a couple of meetings with Nick (Project Manager) and his team where we walked them through exactly what we wanted. It wasn’t easy to create a billing system, but they really seemed to grasp our concept. 

They sent us an estimate, timelines, and the price and worked on the project in different phases. They rolled out a dispatching module, which we would test, and send back any changes that we wanted them to make. After that, we moved on to the next section of the website and processed it until it was complete.

How did you come to work with One Team US LLC?

I was searching for web developers online, and I wanted somebody local in case I needed to sit down with them for this elaborate web development project. I liked that One Team US was actually close to our office and they seemed to have very good references — they also dealt with some companies that were familiar to me.

At one point, I did reach out to a company that I’ve worked with in the past prior to working for my current company, and then I had them give us a quote. Their pricing was just way too high and it took them forever to even call me back to discuss the project. I only had to send Nick a message through their website, and then he called me back immediately — we hit it off right away because he was just a really friendly and down-to-earth person, and I trusted him right off the bat.

Their prices were about the same, but the previous developer’s timeline would take them about a year to develop, whereas One Team’s timeline would only take three months to develop. We did some add-ons to the project so we expected it to be a little bit longer, but they were right on their original timeline.

Additionally, Nick showed me something that he had created for another company, so that I could get the feel and look of their design — I really liked everything they had to say so we took a chance and went with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We love the website. We get nothing but positive feedback from everybody that uses it. We’re just really thankful and we will definitely use them in the future — we know they can handle our needs without a doubt.

One Team US went above and beyond what I even wanted, and there were so many things they built into the system that really made it more modern. I’m glad that those functions are there because I didn’t even think about some of the things that they came up with. They took our ideas and suggestions and brought them to another level.

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was perfect. We would get updates every Friday on what was completed and what was ready for testing that week. The communication was also really great because whenever I reached out to them, I got a response back right away — they never left us hanging. We used RingCentral and standard email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their unbelievable communication and ability to manage the project through a difficult time. People really had to change the way they were doing business, which goes for us too. We weren’t all together in one room and it was a challenge for us and for them.

However, they rose to the occasion and did exactly what they said they were going to do. The website was really beautiful, efficient, and responsive. I was very particular with what I wanted, but they always made it happen. I would send them 3–4 pages of things I wanted to be tweaked, which they will go through, and tweak them all — they never made me feel bad about all those requests no matter how minor they were. One Team US was very receptive, made changes quickly, and understood exactly what we wanted.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really have nothing negative to say about their work. One Team US did exactly what we hired them to do and went above and beyond.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For my advice, you really need to have a base plan together for yourself, and know exactly what you’re looking for in each section of the web development area. You can’t expect them to do everything, you have to explain what your needs are and what you want to accomplish with the website.

I’m the director of a small tech startup that develops, designs, and produces products used in the marine industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with One Team US LLC?

For the last two years, we have been working on a product that we designed for the marine industry, and One Team has been assisting us in developing this project. This product is to be used in the recreational marine industry, as well as the government of the Virgin Islands. We can’t elaborate on it too much because we’re still in the process of patenting the product and it’s still under development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The product consists of a device, a mobile app, and a backend. It’s designed around the recreational boat industry and it would be utilized to collect data.

We’re running this project alongside them. With regards to the development of the device, they assist us with the design of the application on the backend. They also coordinate with the manufacturing side so they are able to help with pretty much every aspect of the project.

We mainly work with Nick (Project Manager) and Raj (CTO). We are also in contact with two electrical engineers, as well as a developer.

How did you come to work with One Team US LLC?

We initially hired a team prior to them but we weren’t getting the response and feedback that we needed. We worked with them for smaller projects, but unfortunately, they were letting us down. I went to Upwork, and they suggested I deal with Raj from One Team, who came highly recommended. We took off from there.

We’ve invested around $120,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in December 2018, and we’re still working together to this day.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have anything serious as we’re really more worried about the timelines to proof of concept (POC). As long as the timelines are met we’re happy. This is our first big project so we don’t really have any metrics or benchmarks to weigh it against however, everything we’ve seen up to now looks really good.

From an application and backend standpoint, they have delivered what we’ve envisioned and all aspects of the milestones have been met.

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication with One Team is brilliant. One thing that’s really important to us is that we stay abreast of the project at all times. We have a WhatsApp group where the entire team comes up with ideas, and they have regular think tanks to work on technology constraints when we get stuck. We would meet every week and give follow-ups and review milestones.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What’s impressive about them is they take charge of the project. We don’t have to worry about the resources because they make sure they have what is necessary to get through the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’ve been very happy up to now. I would simply look forward to them if we have any concerns, but in all honesty, we haven’t really had any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to make sure that you have the funding 100% secure. While One Team has been very accommodating for us at present, it’s very important for these projects to be funded properly from the beginning. We had an unfortunate case where we had to change investors halfway through the project.

Also, make sure you explain your requirements properly because it’s important that you and One Team are on the same page. In order for your vision to be created, you have to have the same vision. Give them a little free rein, a little artistic expression, and always listen to their feedback. I think that’s important in any aspect.

We wanted to create a mobile app the bridges the gap between police towing and towing companies.

One Team US LLC developed a mobile app for us. They built both an iOS and Android version of the platform. Their team put all the pieces together to make my idea a reality. 

They ensured the app has location services and a camera function. The app is also adaptable to other countries and states. It also allows users to enter the make model, and year of their vehicle so that the towing company has that information on hand. One Team US LLC continues to provide updates and corrections to the platform.

I found One Team US LLC via Google search. I came across a couple of companies but One Team US LLC was local, which was important to us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The app has successfully deployed in the Apple and Google Play Stores. We measure success based on user feedback, and in that sense, it’s been a success. From our dashboards, we can see if the app is helping speed up the process through the number of tolls and how fast they were completed. 

Even though we are still in the testing phase and haven’t done a full rollout, it has been very well received by everyone who has seen it. I have been 100% satisfied with every aspect of the process, from the initial rough draft to the full build. Every bit of advice they provided was valuable. 

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They are on time for every meeting, and whenever I have communicated a problem to them they get back to me almost instantaneously. They corrected any issues almost immediately. I had no complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One Team US LLC is accessible and communicative. They are always willing to explain something in detail to make sure we completely understand. Their team is also highly efficient.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at all. Even during the remote work era, they’ve been excellent.

One Team created an app for our team when they’re inspecting properties out in the field. The app collects photos, dictation, video, and notes on each inspection. The team used Xamarin coding language to develop the app from scratch. We learned a lot from their expertise throughout the process.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In terms of adoption, the app was downloaded by 65% of our managers. Our goal was to make sure they had access to the app, and captured images and sending them back to our corporate databases. We were very satisfied with how the app turned out and how the team followed our direction on executing the scope.

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Initially, they provided a more junior level project manager. When we felt the project was lagging a bit, they responded by providing a more knowledgeable employee to help us get across the finish line.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were willing to be candid. If there were better ideas as to how to solve the problem, they were ready to provide those and help us understand our options.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We could’ve really used a more senior-level project manager to help us get things off the ground faster.

My advice is to listen to One Team’s expertise. If allowed, they can bring a lot of technical expertise to the table.

We’re a licensing and quality control firm for the automotive lubrication industry. My position is essentially project development.

We used OneTeam to develop an online licensing program.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re using open-source development tools, customizing certain functionalities for the application. We employed them to clean up some work that another tech company started for us. We also wanted them to implement new objectives that included developing programming that would allow forms to be triggered by one person and sent to another, but all coming back to us. This system would better our user experience and make sure the right forms were getting signed.

What is the team composition?

I’m in contact with three people, but they’ve had six or seven people work intermittently on the project.

How did you come to work with OneTeam?

Someone from our IT team found them online. OneTeam is familiar with the open-source application we were using. Since it is on the specialized side, they seemed like they would be a good fit.

We’ve spent around $55,000.

We started working with them in March 2020.

Their team is almost finished with the initial part of the project we hired them for. The program is working with additional processes that are working.

The team is responsive, getting back to me quickly. They’re able to take my intentions and turn them into a process that mimics those intentions. The project has been moving forward on a great timeline.

They’re excellent with project management. We primarily use Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

With the experience I’ve had with other IT teams, OneTeam stands out. They understood the intent of what I’m looking for without any handholding.

Organize the materials the best that you can. Know what you’re looking for and the outcome. The more information, the better.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Our company is initially being created to offer a platform for potential Photographers/Videographers to easily link up and book jobs with Potential Clients. I am the CEO and have done mostly everything excluding the actual coding/basic designing of which we have contracted OneTeamUS to perform.

For what projects/services did your company hire One Team US LLC, and what were your goals?

We hired One Team US to develop a Mobile Friendly Website and IOS/Android app to create a platform for Clients to easily Book Photographers/Videographers with or without Editing. We have since removed the Apps from the Minimum Viable Product due to the fact that they are unnecessary time and money wise for our company to function. Goal is to get a functional website up and running as soon as is possible

SOLUTION

How did you select One Team US LLC and what were the deciding factors?

After parting ways with our 2nd development team, I placed an Ad on Indeed in search of a development team. I was contacted within a few days of that post from the VP (former) there, Kris Gazley, who arranged a meeting the following week. Deciding factors were that they possessed the skills and abilities to complete the job AND that they reached out to us in a timely, professional manner.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Camera Comrade is a full-on web-based software. First, there was the coding review of the web and apps developed by our former development team. Second, they performed a spec review of what it would take to get the job completed, recommended that we basically scrap the old website and apps because they weren't written in a way that was 100% secure.

Third, it was working on the MVP, where we went over a document of what exactly I wanted in there, and during this process, we eliminated some unnecessary features for the sake of time and money, of which a few of those needed to be added back with Addendums. Fourth, we are currently working on the 3rd Addendum, of which we decided best to break up into "Sprints" which we have gone over roughly every 2 weeks or so. Fifth, we are still working on these Sprints.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

First, we met with the VP to go over what we needed. Then my Dad (main investor) and I met with the VP and the onboarding Spec Sheet creating team, which consisted of Ash and Ela. Ash being the manager of the Spec Sheet and Ela being the developer.

Then we met with the Manager of Project Managers, Miles who helped us determine what was necessary for the MVP. Perhaps during this time too we met with the Chief Technology Officer Raj who runs the show around there. Then we were assigned an official project manager specifically for Camera Comrade, Nick. Nick then would pass along the information to other developers from India, namely Robin who is the head developer, and Meenu who follows his directions.

There was also an app designer and developer in the mix of which we no longer use. Now, I work directly with Nick and sometimes with Robin (and Meenu) while going over the development tasks. So a total of around 8 people, not including the app designers and developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are not launched yet so no really measurable outcomes or feedback about the deliverables. I can update when we have crossed that bridge.

I deal with the Project Manager mostly. We would meet regularly using RingCentral (Zoom) where we would share screens and go over what needs to be developed. Also, these past few months while working on the 3rd addendum sprints, Nick (Project Manager), the Developers (Robin and Meenu), and I meet about twice a month using Ring Central. We do a lot of communicating via email as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most impressive to me is that they possess the ability to get this job done. It was quite difficult finding a development team and they reached out to me rather expediently.

They genuinely care about the job and our company. They are very friendly and respectable. Also, the CFO Raj has a lot of experience in the industry and knows and his iterated the important of getting the Minimum Viable Product up and running as soon as possible as not to miss the opportunity for a successful venture when it has presented itself.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are moving along. It has taken a bit more time and money than initially expected, however, it's been necessary realizing that the software requires many features to be useful to our potential customers. It's been a mostly enjoyable, smooth experience.

A few minor issues though is that while creating the MVP it would have been ideal if they had (or myself) realized that we did not actually need an app to be functional. In addition, sometimes the developers don't quite fully understand what I am asking them to develop and the reasoning behind those requests.

All in all, though, I am glad we found each other and happy to be making progress towards getting this company up and running soon.

I’m the CTO at a flooring replacement company. We send salesmen to homes for in-home shopping. When we sell them the flooring options, our team comes in and installs them.

Over this year, we had a desire to go completely paperless. We started our business with all manual systems, but we’re looking to move over to all cloud-based systems. We wanted an app that would automate part of our workflow.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We asked One Team US LLC to come in and specifically write an Android and iOS app for our salesmen. The app collects all the data about the potential job, room sizes, configurations, and fixes. Then the app submits that information back to our CRM for order processing.

I’ve worked with about five people, including a project manager and developers. I directly interacted with the owner.

We’re a startup but branched off from another company. With that company, we worked with One Tree US LLC on numerous projects. We requested quotes from different companies but went with them based on past experiences and their fair price.

I personally rate them on the project quality and schedule. They did both producing quality projects according to our specs and timeline. I’m happy with the front- and backend work. Most importantly, to us, it’s on a strict timeline that they’ve been maintaining.

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, they’ve been very good. Their team is in constant contact with me. They’ve sent over multiple workflows and skeletal versions of the app to ensure we’re happy with it. We primarily use email, but sometimes we use Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Again, the most important areas to me are the quality of a product and staying on time. My position relies upon me giving forecasts and dates. If they don’t come in on time, it makes me look bad. Their constant communication makes me feel comfortable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no complaints. I’m pretty happy with them on this project.

Make sure you provide detailed specs with very little to question. On our end, when we’ve been lazy spec-wise, we’ve had issues. We laid out very thorough specs for One Team US LLC, and we’ve been happy with their work.

Their communication was key. The team is great about giving estimates of how long things will take, and they always gave me updates on their progress. We communicate via a mixture of once-a-week in-person visits and emails.

I’m the owner of a custom web development company.

I hired them to support a couple of client projects. One of them was education-based and the other was e-commerce-based. We needed help with some of the development tasks.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For the education-based project, One Team worked on an iPad app. It was a brochure-type product. Their team helped us to create an interactive application for potential students of a university. They built the platform for Android and iOS. Their team also built an interface on the client’s website using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

The second project involved an e-commerce website for phone cards. The site supported an automated process for the end-user to receive digital products. One Team helped to develop backend elements regarding the chat tool. They used .NET.

What is the team composition?

I worked with 4–6 people from their team. There was always a project manager and at least two developers.

We reached out to them.

The cost ranged between $5,000–$25,000 per project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in November 2012 and worked together on and off until 2019. Usually, the projects took more than six months. We’re actually talking about another project now.

Overall, the quality of their work was good. As with any project, the transition into the scope was an initial challenge. Their team was readily available and responsive.

How did One Team US LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

In some cases, we split their workload into phases. We met regularly and communicated daily via email. They communicated clearly and thoroughly. Their team was always available on Skype and Slack. They met deadlines and managed the projects well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For us, the time difference was a plus. While they have local teams, their offshore team actually fit our needs better. By sending them tasks overnight, we were able to complete our work the next morning. People might find that challenging, but it worked out for me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m satisfied with the engagement but there was a challenge on one project. I felt that one developer wasn’t qualified enough, and they quickly addressed the issue by assigning a more senior developer to the team.

Go for it. With local and offshore teams, they ensure round the clock support.
