Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the US office manager of a livestreaming tech company.
What challenge were you trying to address with OnDeck Recruiting?
We were recruiting for some specialized positions, and we needed extra help on that front.
What was the scope of their involvement?
OnDeck Recruiting provided us with their HR and recruitment services. We started the partnership with lots of intro calls where they took the time to understand the business and the space we’re operating in.
After knowing our process and our requirements for what we were looking for, they vetted potential candidates and sent us an email with their resumes, and information such as salary range, location, and educational background.
What is the team composition?
I mainly worked with Jeremy (Managing Partner).
How did you come to work with OnDeck Recruiting?
An HR consultant I used to work with recommended a recruitment firm called OnDeck based in LA, but I accidentally called Jeremy and his company. I just continued working with them because we developed such a good working relationship.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from September 2021–April 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They quickly closed our recruitment for an executive in just under two months, which was quite quick for an executive search. They were also able to adapt to our changing business needs and managed to present us with some excellent candidates, even though some of those roles didn’t pan out very well.
How did OnDeck Recruiting perform from a project management standpoint?
They were highly organized from a project management perspective as they were always on top of the process and followed up for feedback.
We typically communicated through phone and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Jeremy and his team were very open, honest, and efficient throughout the partnership, which was highly appreciated. They really took the time to understand our needs and they never sent us anyone that didn’t fit our mark.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any constructive feedback about OnDeck Recruiting.

If you’re thinking about working with them, I would advise you to get ready to answer a lot of questions and be very clear about what you’re looking for.

I am the VP of Sales and Marketing and lead the sales, marketing, technical sales, inside sales, procurement and business development teams.
Our organization employs 90 employees in the North Central United States and we provide technology support and services to organizations throughout the US. We are in a competitive market for technical resources. We specifically have had needs for Solution architects, Network engineers, and Technical Sales professionals. Our company is growing into newer markets and available specialized technical talent is difficult to find.
What were your goals for this project?
We have aggressive growth goals into new markets. We need to find; sales, NOC (helpdesk) technical, Server/storage, Network/infrastructure, Security and Sales professionals. We are in need of up to 10 new employees.
How did you select OnDeck Recruiting?
We had been contacted directly related to a posting and also have had previous experiences through other organizations that have used OnDeck previously. We checked referrals and based on prior experiences from our teams we chose to involve them in our growth plan needs.
Describe the project in detail.
our expansion into new markets and offering new solutions involves building a team. we were looking for a team that can sell technology and the resources to support our clients. typically we are looking for helpdesk, application support, technology sales specialists, networking and cloud/storage teams that work well together and can run independently.
What was the team composition?
we have a similar team structure in our existing markets, which are typically about 2 hours from our corporate office. we work to build out a technology implementation and support team that can run autonomously and understand how to build and manage solutions.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We've built out 2 new markets in the last 3 years. What started with the core 4 team members have grown into supporting staff of 10-12 individuals as we continue to add new clients. our overall revenue has grown 21% in that time and we're projecting another 15% with the same amount of resources as they are aligned with the net-new customer additions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
seamless. They have great discovery questions for the types of talent that are required and also have worked in our industry and understand our business and more importantly, our culture and customers.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
they are a committed extension of our team. We have a lot of people we do business with, the OnDeck team has become a true partner. it's a different engagement once the company understand how to partner together and leverage each other's strengths to achieve our goals. we don't have to be concerned about the level of candidate that is presented or that they align with our culture or values.
Are there any areas for improvement?
nothing concerning. It is a tough market everywhere to find technology talent and they are in high demand so typically we have a short window of opportunity to make decisions. OnDeck seems to have a vast level of qualified candidates available for whenever we have a need.

We requested resumes of pertinent candidates. In some instances, we had the service provider contact specific individuals of interest on our behalf. Mr. Meltings response has always been prompt and successful, leading to interviews and the recruitment of excellent candidates with potential for substantial growth..

Due to the strategic importance of the positions to be filled, most of our interactions were with the Managing Partner.
