For what projects/services did your company hire Omnes Group?
Our company recently decided to pivot heavily toward development services, and Omnes' involvement was crucial in setting up a team of developers in a saturated job market, especially given the fact that we're the 'new kid on the block' in this area.
How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?
Our initial attempt to put the team together ourselves ended in failure after spending some time and resources trying. We didn't have the reputation in the development industry to garner any interest from the developers in Serbia that are targeted by proven and established software engineering companies.
Omnes, on the other hand, is a tech recruitment company known for their ability to create perfect matches between companies and candidates, on both a cultural and technical level; and being a niche agency, we didn't think twice about hiring them over their many giant competitors.
We needed a personal touch that matches our approach to creating and taking care of teams, and Omnes seemed to be head and shoulders above the competition in that regard.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Omnes was tasked with creating a team that would build a CRM software for our multinational transportation and relocation businesses based in the US.
The idea was to set a team up, bring them to Los Angeles and work hand in hand on setting up a wireframe; then to develop an MVP and work from there in stages, rolling out the modules of our software one by one. This was to be a 6 month endeavor in LA to plan and create an MVP, after which the team returned to our offices in Belgrade and continued their work on rolling out module after module until the product was fully functional.
Describe the recruitment process in detail.
Omnes took the time to get to know our industry, our reasons behind building our own platform and the unique complications of our operation, and more importantly, took the time to know our management team.
Based on that, they handled sourcing, tech interviews, helped us decide on a tech stack, and basically sent us fully vetted candidates for a final interview which was really there purely as an opportunity for us to gauge if we were a fit for each other, culturally.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
It took their team a month and a half to put a team of 8 engineers together, and we were up and running with meeting in Los Angeles within less than three months. For scale, we took 3 months failing in this attempt before turning to Omnes for help.
The MVP was rolled out within 9 months of finding Omnes, and 6 months from that point, our software started carrying a monthly load of some 20,000 clients and $5,000,000 in MRR. To say we'd have wasted tens of thousands of dollars and months of agony in failure to establish the PHENOMENAL team that we currently have is an understatement.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The communication with Omnes' team went flawlessly. Their responsiveness and punctuality blew us away. To be fair, aside from the initial meetings and discussions aimed toward giving them an insight into our industry and what we're looking to solve by creating this platform, there were few interactions with them; until the candidates started popping up on our schedule for interviews. It was really a turnkey solution for a problem we had no solution for in the first place.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Omnes' ability to hit the nail on the head at first try was really something we haven't seen before. I've had the opportunity to work with tech recruitment agencies in the past, and the difference is this: With their larger competitors, I've received many applications per open position, which is nice, but it left my schedule slammed with interviews that eventually went nowhere - either because the candidate doesn't quite understand our needs, or because we don't see them fitting into our team.
Omnes does things differently from what I've experienced until I found them: They invest their time in the prep work, which resulted in us receiving two or three applications per position, but always left us with a tough job of choosing which one would be given an offer.
The candidates always matched up perfectly with our needs. It's their ability to be the bridge between us as business owners and the software engineers we need that makes a solid tech recruitment agency, and so far I've seen no other company that comes close to Omnes.

Our internal recruitment team needed support in order to close hard-to-fill senior engineering and product openings. We hired Omnes group to help us expand Engineering and Product departments with the top notch candidates on the market.

Our goal with Omnes was to map and hire best talents on the market with the experience in the the various technologies.

Omnes group is very well known in the tech community. They helped lot of companies and start-ups to expand their teams. When we met with them and heard their story we really recognized them as unique on the market due to their business model, network and the approach, since they are not like traditional staffing agency.

Omnes was provided with job requirements and other specifics regarding the openings, project and company. We had dedicated recruiters that were recommending us candidates for multiple open reqs such as: Java, Golang, JavaScript, DevOps, IT product manager. Omnes recruiters were responsible for the first screening and they were recommending us candidates that they considered a good fit for our team.
Beside they were providing valuable information when it comes to candidate background, experience, personality and motivation for change. As a team they did great job is assessing cultural fit when talking with the candidates which we find really important and one of the main things when considering a hire.
We were providing feedback for each candidate and only those that we considered were match were invited for an interview. Due to the high volume of candidates that we had at that moment from various channels, Omnes helped us to set interviews with candidates and our Hiring Managers. Candidates were provided with the feedback in a timely manner.

We were working and communicating with two Omnes recruiters.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
We successfully hired few people that are now fully integrated and on-boarded in the team.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We set really good process, Omnes team was briefed at the beginning and had meetings with our Hiring Managers and Recruiters in order to gather all the information that they needed for sourcing and screening. They adjusted to our internal ATS (Applicant tracking system) and were using it as a main channel to deliver candidates.
In this way we were making sure not to slip any candidate from the pipeline and to provide prompt feedback on the candidate profile. The communication was flawless. They acted fast and were responsive to our feedback and adjusted their process according to our changes.
What did you find most impressive about this vendor?
Being able to present the company as they were part of our internal recruitment team. The candidate experience is really important for us and since Omnes was a part of this experience we are really happy to hear positive impressions from our candidates regarding the cooperation with Omnes recruiters. Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a healthcare company that has its own product. Our company focuses its full-time attention on this single product. We manage healthcare documents for clinical trials. One of every four cancer research centers uses our software. I’m the director of the company, but I also have software development roles within the business as well.
What challenge were you trying to address with Omnes Group?
We needed resources to support software development for the entire company. Most of our engineering team is located at our headquarters, and we need to keep up with product growth and usage.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The market is competitive for developers, so it can be tricky to find good candidates in the market. Omnes Group was brought on to find us great talent. We had problems with previous agencies, so we were hoping to succeed with a new partner. They took time to understand our business and values, so they could match us up with appropriate candidates that matched our culture.
How did you come to work with Omnes Group?
We were working with another hiring agency that started falling behind, so we needed to look for a new partner. Our team looked into 5–6 different agencies using Google searches. After a month, their team really stood out with their communication and skills. It became an easy choice for us.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in September 2019. After a three-month RPO with them, we’re now looking to expand into an annual RPO to strengthen our relationship.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t felt like we lost time examining the candidates that they send us. All of their candidates are high-profile with great technical knowledge. The only times we’ve passed on candidates are when they aren’t the right cultural fit, which is very important to us. They do a great job of making sure they understand our culture, so they can provide us with talent accordingly.
Right after hiring them, they brought a fantastic candidate to us that we ended up hiring. Before working with them, it took three months to make one hire, on average. Since starting our work with them, we’ve closed four positions in four months. That’s a strong improvement.
How did Omnes Group perform from a project management standpoint?
They use Trello for project management and are currently developing a system on their own system, which will help us track candidates. However, communication through Trello was very clean because they were willing to provide quick responses. Typically, they respond in under an hour.
We always have a very clear picture of where we stand with different candidates in our pipeline. That helps us pinpoint potential areas for improvement. Overall, they’ve been pleasant and nice to work with.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were both representing our company and their candidates, and we really liked that. We liked this because we care about our employees’ happiness and their work-life balance. They seemed to have the same values surrounding corporate culture as we do. I appreciated their understanding of our need to maintain our culture.
When they don’t pass candidates off to us, they’re able to accurately explain why they weren’t a match. That’s been hugely impressive. Because of how well they know us, we feel like we have an in-house hiring agency.

Since our clients vary so widely, we sometimes recruit additional talent to help with projects. We turn to Omnes Group when we need those resources.

We needed a mobile developer who could work on React Native projects. We had trouble finding the right candidate who was willing and able to work in both React and other native technologies. Omnes Group found us an excellent candidate, and we've just completed the onboarding process with him.

We work with an account manager to gather requirements and search for clients. They process candidate documents and send us the CVs they think are appropriate.

Initially, we had to make sure Omnes understood what our core business is, what is the team composition and work model, which teams we have in our company and their specific roles. And, on top of it, the technology stack had to be described in details. We also provided clear job requirements and candidate knowledge boundaries. Based on our request and information Omnes collected, they were providing candidates for our review. All candidates were being interviewed by Omnes recruiters, where they were making sure that candidates are matching our needs. Only those candidates that were fit for us and vice versa have been sent for initial reviews with our company. Once we complete the interview process, we were sharing our notes and comments with Omnes recruiters. If we decide to move on with a candidate, we simply do it.
