Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of marketing for both GrabPay and GrabFood of Grab Philippines.


What challenge were you trying to address with Oddefy Creative Agency?

The initial challenge was to determine our positioning on social media.


What was the scope of their involvement?

The key task for Oddefy was to come up with a social media strategy, including offline events and online campaigns, to boost our relevance in the market. During our first campaign, we mostly focused on social listening on Facebook and Instagram. We’ve worked with them on multiple campaigns.

What is the team composition?

The team is comprised of 5–6 people, and we have 2–3 main points of contact.

How did you come to work with Oddefy Creative Agency?

They were a referral from a former employee of our company. I mentioned that I was looking for an agency that could provide both creatives and strategy for social media, and he recommended Oddefy. We looked at whether they understood our products and brand, and at how they’d be able to translate the brief we gave them into sustainable campaigns. The third decision point was on pricing; they’re very competitive in terms of the services they offer versus the price point they’re at.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000 to date.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project with Oddefy started in November 2018 and lasted for six months. From there, we’ve gone back to them every three months or so. Our longest engagement so far lasted eight months.


What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The main thing I like about the team is that they’re very easy to talk to. They’re approachable and actually encourage and embrace feedback, and they always come back with a better proposal. The team works really fast. Whenever I have a campaign that requires a lot of work and has a tight deadline, Oddefy is the first to come to mind.

How did Oddefy Creative Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the communication is done through WhatsApp or phone calls. They’re very reachable. My associate is the one who talks to Oddefy most of the time, so I’m not too sure about the channels and tools they use.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Something they always do in their campaigns — regardless if it’s for my company or another one — is to gather insights from the main market target, which for us are millennial Filipinos. They do a really good job of getting what’s being talked about within the specific space, whether it’s financials or food delivery. They collect insights on what people are talking about and turn those into something creative. That’s one of the qualities I love most about Oddefy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None that I can think of so far. It’s a chicken and egg thing: I require speed, which means that the quality of work might not be on par with what they could do if we gave them more time. We get what we get with the amount of time we give them. That was my initial feedback with them, but they’ve consistently improved on it. How they are right now is different from how they were two years ago.
