What challenge were you trying to address with NueWay Studios?

I reached out to NueWay Studios to help me rebrand because I realized I was too focused on one product and wanted to offer more than just printing services. I wanted to have a creative ecosystem, and they helped me rebrand into that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

NueWay Studios has helped me rebrand my company. The first thing we did was a brand audit, which was a deep dive into my brand. I completed a thorough questionnaire that gave them insight to help them understand my brand’s personality. They also conducted market research and a creative strategy session. NueWay Studios has helped me execute those strategies piece by piece and put them into place.

Currently, we’re working on a logo design. With the rebrand, we agreed that my current logo didn’t quite meet the brand archetype I wanted to fit in. We’ve finally agreed on a new logo design, and now we’re working on getting everything else taken care of, including the visuals and business cards.

On average, I work with 2–3 teammates from NueWay Studios. One of them is a creative strategist, and I’ve also worked with a graphic designer and a coordinator.

What is the status of this engagement?

I first contacted them around October 2022, when I started my print shop. However, we started working together in September 2024 on the actual rebranding project, and the engagement is ongoing.

Since I started working with NueWay Studios, I’ve noticed that when I speak to people, I’m more clear and concise about who I am, and people are now understanding it. After dealing with them, I’ve learned to position and show a different image to people so they can see the bigger picture of my company.

How did NueWay Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

NueWay Studios is very good at keeping deadlines and staying on budget. If things ever take too long, it’s due to my miscommunication or me not showing up on time. They’ve always delivered on time, if not early. We use Basecamp to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One thing I love about them is that they did a complimentary consultation to hear my needs and what I wanted to do. They gave me a list of things that could possibly help me and allowed me to pick which services I wanted.

Throughout the process, I’ve learned that they really mean what they say. When they get their hands dirty with you, you’re not by yourself. They actually care about your success and look at you as a partner. NueWay Studios is very selective about who they choose to work with. It’s a breath of fresh air to see someone have passion in their work rather than just focusing on profit.

There was a time when I thought I was all alone in my business. Charday reached out and had a one-on-one conversation with me. She helped me understand that I wasn’t just another number; she believed in my dreams and vision. Through that personal conversation, I realized I wasn’t on my own.

I’m the owner of Caribbean Kitchen Foods, a spice blend manufacturing and distribution company. We cater to those looking for a healthier alternative to high-sodium seasonings in the marketplace. We offer low-sodium seasonings inspired by Caribbean flavors. We’ve been in business for four years and currently operate in the e-commerce space with our Shopify store. We’re also on Amazon and Walmart and have distribution in five brick-and-mortar stores.

What challenge were you trying to address with NueWay Studios?

We needed help with our brand strategy. At the time, we were struggling to have a solid marketing strategy and were all over the place when it came to messaging and labeling. We wanted to identify the areas we needed to focus on in our marketing to present ourselves as a premium brand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

NueWay Studios helped us identify the areas of the market we were targeting, the right message we needed to have for that market, and the right look from a visual appeal standpoint to present to the marketplace and give our audience an understanding of who we are as a premium brand. We went through a questionnaire to identify areas of opportunity. They did marketing research, brought back some suggestions, and we collectively created the strategy.

The key areas they assisted with were our brand story and messaging and our brand appeal from a visual standpoint. They also helped us identify our target market, which is people looking for a premium healthy product with a premium look and feel. We were previously scattered and tried to appeal to multiple audiences. NueWay Studios provided me with suggestions regarding the third and fourth iterations of our labeling, and I implemented them design-wise.

NueWay Studios also provided market research to guide us in rolling things out. They provided a rollout plan with the next steps that I can act on to hopefully get the results we’re anticipating based on everything we worked on throughout this project.

What is the team composition?

We primarily worked with an account manager, Lena, who took items back to her team. She has a team that works under her, but I’m not privy to NueWay Studios' organizational structure.

How did you come to work with NueWay Studios?

Charday and I were mutual contacts and work colleagues in the same religious forum space. When I posted on Facebook that I was stepping away from my full-time job to focus on my business, she suggested I reach out to see if there was anything they could do to help us. I reached out to her, had a meeting, and she shared with me what her company does. I found value in some of their success stories and believed they would be able to help us. She did a formal presentation and introduced me to Lena, and we began the process.

We spent a little over $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from December 2023–April 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback for NueWay Studios' work has been positive; I've taked to some distributors that I work with. NueWay Studios has done its part in terms of creating our brand story. One of my learnings from talking to people in the marketplace was to pivot towards a healthy lifestyle product. That’s one thing I believe we could have capitalized on earlier instead of only appealing to the premium product audience. 

We have a premium product and we have now found how the product is adding value in helping our customers be healthier because of the low sodium. We’re still in the process of implementing some of what was suggested. We need a certain amount of capital to maximize the opportunities they present. 

How did NueWay Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was exceptional. They were always on time and ready to present information. The only challenge was on my end since I needed to raise the capital to implement some of their suggestions. Still, NueWay Studios was very flexible in making payment options available. 

On NueWay Studios's part, the experience was exceptional. Everything was done at a high professional level, and we knew we were getting good value for our money from an ROI standpoint. NueWay Studios always delivered more than we expected. We used Basecamp for project management and Google Meet for communication.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I’d like to give a shout-out to Lena for being innovative and creative. She challenged me at times to look at things differently. She always had a forward-thinking mindset and worked collaboratively. It was truly a great experience working with her and with NueWay Studios in general. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

NueWay Studios' team is very meticulous. I have high expectations and have worked with many companies that sometimes aren’t able to meet them. Therefore, I've had to rework what some other companies have done. With NueWay Studios, that wasn’t the case. They always presented exceptional work in terms of messaging and brand story.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only drawback is that the work was done piecemeal. Once we paid the invoice, they’d release the next iteration. I know a part of it is their business model, which is contingent on trust. They don’t want to give a customer all the deliverables until they’re fully paid. They were flexible enough to work with me because I didn’t have all the money upfront. At each juncture, once I made the payment, they’d roll out the next phase of the brand strategy.

Personally, I would have loved to have the information upfront versus getting it piecemeal. It extended from December to April, and I think we could have gotten it done much faster. But that’s not a knock on them. They accommodated me based on their business model.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d encourage everyone looking for a brand strategy to work with NueWay Studios. They have a pulse on what’s happening, which I found very valuable. They’re experts in their field and have a pulse on what’s happening in the marketplace regarding trends, movements, and new ideas to help your brand grow and evolve.

I’d encourage people to go in with an open mind. What you may have initially envisioned, NueWay Studios may challenge you to rethink. You have to be open-minded to say you’re going to go with the experts based on their experience versus your personal preference. You may have to lay aside some of your personal biases and preferences and have an open mind to learn from the experts in their field.
