Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an advisor to the management board at the largest parking lot operator in Central and Eastern Europe, with 150,000 facilities across Poland and other countries in the region. We work with providers to provide excellent software and hardware solutions.
What challenge were you trying to address with NOMA SOLUTIONS?
We had a plan to establish a mobile payment software solution to charge drivers who park in our lots. The many parking meters we operate all accept cash or credit card payment. We partnered with NOMA SOLUTIONS to build this system from scratch.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The first step was to create tools for each possible payment scenario. NOMA SOLUTIONS guided us to a proper understanding of the user perspective for the entire transaction process. We conceptualized potential user behaviors when entering and leaving the gate at our parking zone. Using our system, they can pay at the payment machine, parking meter, or via our app.
Our software includes both mobile and web-based capability. NOMA SOLUTIONS developed the frontend. They created native apps for Android, iOS, and Windows. Based on our company’s guidelines, they designed the screen layout. Points of consideration included the workflow and how the transaction should look step-by-step.
The team developed the middleware and interconnection to the billing system, which they created end-to-end. An excel spreadsheet integration tracks the revenue we earn. For the second phase, NOMA SOLUTIONS created a navigation tool to help drivers find available spots. We’re currently working on the third stage.

How did you come to work with NOMA SOLUTIONS?
A software development project I’d done with Marek (Owner, NOMA SOLUTIONS) when he worked at a different company had gone very well. We hired two teams to participate in our project by providing solutions. NOMA SOLUTIONS manages frontend development. The other team offers telecommunications gear we need for the system like rotors and switches.
How much have you invested with them?
We paid NOMA SOLUTIONS between $200,000-$250,000 for this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since 2014.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
NOMA SOLUTIONS completed all their work on time and according to the scope. They collaborated seamlessly with several other partners of our company. They’ve adhered to high-quality standards the whole time. I was often pleasantly surprised by their flexible pricing. NOMA SOLUTIONS emphasized the planning stage. Investing substantial time in preparation facilitated a stable environment and efficient workflow.
Our product department often had ideas that took months to implement. In the meantime, Android’s mobile market requirements often changed. Over the past 3-4 years, we’ve had to redevelop specific features. NOMA SOLUTIONS always kept tabs on changing regulations. They anticipated changes in the Android Google Store and rewrote the app to pass acceptance tests. The team led us step-by-step through the process to accommodate our budget and requirements. I really appreciated that.
How did NOMA SOLUTIONS perform from a project management standpoint?
This complicated project required them to cooperate with three other external partners. One team created the billing system on an SQL database. Another partner ensured compliance with financial regulations. They created workflows for the transaction clearing from financial institutions like Visa and Mastercard.
Project management wasn’t perfect, but they were very good. We communicate by phone and email. We experienced no delays, and they always answered our calls. They consistently offered prompt feedback about the status. NOMA SOLUTIONS is highly competent and quick to respond.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m hard to impress, and NOMA SOLUTIONS performs strong quality work. Our cooperation progressed smoothly, and they offer timely responses. The team seamlessly facilitated the process of signing off on protocols before sending invoices. They’re understanding and take our comments about billing seriously and are understanding about billing. I appreciated their detailed explanations for the rationale behind different choices.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are none that I can think of.
