Key clients:

Mail.ru, Megafon, Yota, Conde Nast

Technopolis

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client

The fourth education project of Mail.Ru Group for students of technical universities. This time it was a joint course by Odnoklassniki and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The project is aimed at tenacious and persistent young people who want to learn the ropes and get to work as quickly as possible.

Task

The goal was to get students interested in attending a free programming course by describing the program, the opportunities it gives, and the process of enrollment. We redesigned the structure and content based on the website of the previous projects and transferred the visual style to the Web. This way, we made the website both informative and descriptive.

Zehnder-online

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client

The store sells radiators, heated towel rails, and covectors under the Zehnder brand. The company’s authorized agent offers off-the-shelf or customized equipment from German factories. Imagine a yellow radiator covering an entire wall — Zehnder can do it.

Task

Initially, the client requested support for their template-based website. We monitored user activity on the website and its visibility for search engines and we were pretty upset with the results. For instance, users often couldn’t even find the phone number. Thus, support gradually turned into development of a new website that would increase the number of applications and reduce the time it takes to process an order.

Hotel Schools

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client

Hotel Schools provides an opportunity to study in the field of hospitality: say, hotel or restaurant management. You can choose to travel to Switzerland, Great Britain, Australia, and three other countries. The project has a parent — IQ Consultancy, an educational company. It will soon have a website of its own.

Task

To redesign the website and overhaul the content. We put a lot of effort into making the materials easy to understand and the visuals to be in line with the style of IQ Consultancy. We developed a page creator and integrated the admin panel with the CRM. The applications from the website are delivered into the system, where the history ofrelationship with each lead is recorded.

Issma

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client

Issma is a store selling high-quality goods for interior decoration and DIY that is located in Svetogorsk. 15 years after its foundation, the company has set out to enter St. Petersburg’s online trading market. Concurrently with creating an online store, it has decided to develop a unified corporate identity for the offline and online points of sale.

Krasnogorie

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client

Krasnogorie (Red Mountains) is a brand of sausages and meat delicacies from the Chelyabinsk meat processing plant. All products are made from actual Ural meat and sold in small retail shops. The packaging reflects the brand’s features, with a juicy slab of meat printed all over the background, hand-made using the linocut technique.

Yarmonka

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client Yarmonka is a platform for purchasing and selling farm products. It is intended to help small and medium farms find new clients. We want manufacturers to get the sales going and consumers to find a place where they can purchase tasty and inexpensive products.

Task Understanding what people what and what they don’t, figuring out the manufacturers and creating an interface out of it all. This means developing a catalog, a form for ad placement, user accounts, product search and order functions.

Pech.ru

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client A store offering over 10,000 fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, chimneys, and kindling products. The service helps choose a system, find reliable installers, and provides maintenance recommendations. Here, one can find both rare specimens and standard equipment — there is no limit.

Task Creating a new version of the store that would increase website traffic and sales. Pech.ru is all about expertise in the field, which makes communications just as important as stimulating sales. For us, it meant combining a store with a thematic platform that would attract customers and service companies.

Ru-Effect

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client Bureau of Technics is a research and development company aimed at taking Russian engineering to a new level. The Bureau experts study and describe the so-called “Ru-Effect” — onset of self-oscillations with higher-than-normal amplitude, a natural phenomena discovered by Russian scientists.

Task The objective was to present the discovery and the physical phenomenon in a way that would appeal to an outsider, make an engineer think about its application, and convince an industrialist in the possible savings from the said application. We strove to find an appropriate form for complex processes and show that science is beautiful.

EMBL

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client Heidelberg (Germany) is home to the headquarters of EBML — European Molecular Biology Laboratory, a global leader in the study of cells and molecules. We worked with the Computer Science Department, which coordinates the development of the METASPACE software.

Task METASPACE is a large and ambitious projects that will be implemented until 2020. It needs to be recognizable, with eye-catching presentations, neat website, and branded t-shirts. Science worked on the branding, while we dealt with format selection and platform development. The main objective was to meet the budget and deadlines of a non-profit organization with European documentation.

House Anatomy

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client: The second project for Office Anatomy, a service that helps designers, homeowners, and technical building equipment specialists choose fancy sockets and switches, compile an order correctly, and have it delivered straight to one’s door.

Task: The client loved the previous video and is now looking for a similar story about their new product, highlighting the benefits of the service, features of the interface, and the way it works.

Bureau of Technics

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client: A medium-sized research and engineering company with quality staff and science-based approach. They make mathematical calculations of heat currents in Olympic stadiums, implement green technologies, and patent their own inventions.

Task: After several internal projects such as GreenZoom and RU-effect, the Bureau committed us to work on their own brand and communications. Science worked on the style, while we developed a presentation website, all fast and cheap.

Ecofole

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Client: Manufacturer and distributor of stretch ceilings. The company uses advanced technology, high-end components, and examines material structure. For example, in 2012, the technologists added strength to the product by replacing lead salts with neutral tin salts in the heat stabilizers.

Task:The company is looking for dealers and partners to open offices outside of St. Petersburg, which leaves customer service to intermediaries. This is why Ecofole turned to us to develop a presentation website and an interface for the ceiling authentication.

Execty

Сlick through to our complete case study.

As a consulting company, Execty is extremely good at investment planning and financial analytics. Investment strategies, management techniques, tactics and regulations – the company's specialists know it all inside out. However, it is the field of automated Forex trading where the agency will step in with its consulting services. This is what the first incarnation of the execty.com will be all about.

Task: Get the information about the company across to potential clients of Execty so that they have no worries whatsoever and lead them to their first consultation. We delved into the matter, pictured what they would expect of the service and chose the mood. By the time the project was over, the client had received the fair copies of the texts, page layouts and a link to the site that is up and running.

Dipol

Сlick through to our complete case study.

The company manufactures equipment, technological materials and industrial furniture for factories working in the field of electronics, instrument engineering and other science-intensive industries. Dipol designs and constructs factories, installs equipment, trains the personnel.

Task: We got the project already with a prototype and a corporate style. We came up with a clear concept that completely reflected the two main areas of the company's activities. We also adopted the Dipol style, designed the page layout and implemented front-end development.

ARQA Technologies

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Our client develops software solutions for banks, commodity traders, investment and asset-management companies. Our client’s most recognizable products are QUIK and QORT. The first is a tool that provides access to Russian trading venues; the second one is used for managing positions and smart analytics.

Task: We had three client websites: two product sites and one company site. There was no obvious connection between them, but ARQA, QUIK and QORT had to become one conceptually as well as visually and physically. Therefore, we had to work on merging three entities by analyzing data, cutting out unnecessary parts and combining similar ones.

YotaSports

Сlick through to our complete case study.

Following the YotaHub application for configuring the e-ink back screen, the Yota Devices design team entrusted us with a new challenge. It was a great opportunity to work with such a cool team, and together develop an interface for YotaSports – a mobile application for following sporting events.

Task: To engage the potential of the two teams in developing the basic version of the application that will be just enough for an amateur. Announcements about football and hockey matches, players, scores and key episodes throughout matches – YotaSports will show this information for starters. New sports and features will become available in future versions.

YotaHub

Сlick through to our complete case study.

First version of Russian dual-screen smartphone caused quite a stir, so the second generation phone promised to bring even greater success. YotaPhone2 needed a special app to configure the black-and-white display. Yota Devices (the author and developer of the gadget) named it YotaHub and decided to entrust us with app interface design.

Task: UX and UI design of the YotaHub app. To complete the task, we looked at the features of the black-and-white screen, explored user needs and created interaction scenarios. The Yota Devices design team managed the project, they challenged us, shared ideas, offered guidance and received the results.

Senta

Сlick through to our complete case study.

MegaLabs is a stand-alone subsidiary of MegaFon, responsible for functional and useful web products. This time, the team decided to develop an online service to register vehicle insurance and contacted us for a prototype and graphic conception.

Task: To design an insurance aggregator, responsive to user needs and easy to navigate. We analyzed all the input: research results, policy descriptions, scripts for working with the system – and then created an interactive prototype for the senta.ru site.

To train specialists and to get the industry going, Mail.Ru Group conducts four educational championships: competitive programming, artificial intelligence, product development and design.

Task: The championships have developed independently from each other: on different sites and with individual styles. Our task is to bring all these contests together under the umbrella of the Russian Code Cups, style them with new identity provided by our Mail.Ru Group colleagues and give all the participants an easy way to log into any of the championships - just from a single entry point.

Feedback summary:

The team performed well, and the platform has been launched. Nimax has great analysts that are able to turn customer ideas into a concrete project. There were no project management problems throughout the engagement.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a project manager at YIT. We are a construction and maintenance company specializing in housing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimax?

We wanted to create a membership portal on which customers could receive information and services from our side.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nimax built our platform. I worked with a project manager, and they assigned a dedicated person for every sector of the work, from design to programming. I didn’t have contact with the resources themselves.

How did you come to work with Nimax?

We made a search and contacted several development companies. Our tender included various criteria. We decided to work with them because Nimax was using a CMS which was very popular in Russia, and which connect well with our internal systems for billing and other functions.

How much have you invested with Nimax?

The cost of their work was around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Nimax in September 2016. The first release is in production, and we’re working on a second one, which is planned to complete by the end of October 2017. We will continue to develop additional functionalities.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We rolled out the first release of the site but it happened literally last week and at the moment I can’t share any statistics or feedback.

How did Nimax perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very good, I have never seen a formalistic approach or actions just to check the box from their side. They deeply analyze a task and provide all possible ways of realization.

What did you find most impressive about Nimax?

They have great analysts on their team. It’s rare case when customer’s disorganized view of a project transfers to a systematic and clear conception after one or two interviews with the analyst (who never heard about customer’s business backstage before).

Are there any areas Nimax could improve?

Maybe they are a bit traditionalists. In some cases, I’d like them to offer more advanced, brave decisions.

Feedback summary:

The design team successfully created a coherent image to support all future product builds and communication. Even though Nimax did not meet the web development deadline, their expert brand understanding and creativity shone in this engagement.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization and position.

Our company sells and installs wood-burning stoves and fireplaces. We’ve been around since 2006 and sell our products online and in stores. I’m the founder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Nimax?

We had two major problems that we wanted to solve. First, we wanted to convey a message to our customers about our approach, mission, and values. Second, we wanted to create a meaningful design of our brand. We were also in need of development services.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We needed to communicate what we wanted to convey to our client. We had to describe our values. We didn’t just need a logo; we wanted an understanding of our brand. This was the most difficult part. Nimax also provided us with website development for both the frontend and backend of our site. They used a CMS that is known in Russia called Bitrix.

How did you come to work with Nimax?

I looked at a lot of sites and portfolios, and I talked with managers of companies. At the end of that, we favored Nimax.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The project cost $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project has been completed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Most importantly, we now have a coherent idea of our brand. We build all our products and communicate with our customers based on this knowledge. We have not yet received feedback from our customers.

How did Nimax perform from a project management standpoint?

They had a clear understanding of the stages of the project. Although we weren’t able to meet deadlines for our development work, they were great with the branding and design work. They stayed in good contact. We relied on Skype and email to stay in contact.

What distinguishes Nimax from other providers?

Nimax’s punctuality and honesty really what set them apart.

Is there anything Nimax could have improved or done differently?

I think that creativity and design are their forte. That being said, they could improve their competency in IT development.

Feedback summary:

Over the course of their partnership, Nimax consistently provided high quality, cost effective work. At times they struggled to meet their deadlines, but never to the detriment of the project.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We produce metal furniture for industrial companies in different sectors. I am the head of the marketing department.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimax?

We needed branding and marketing at the initial level because the company didn’t pay much attention to that. The competition increased, so when I came to the company, we decided to come up with a marketing strategy, a communication strategy, and branding.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started to work with them on research, looking at who our target audience is, what they want, where they are, and what we should do for them. Then, we developed the brand identity of our company as it applies to different media, including the website. They helped us with web development and brand identity development. They did coding along with HTML, JavaScript, MySQL, and PHP. We have two different sectors: business-to-business [B2B] and business-to-consumer [B2C], so we have a website for B2B and one for e-commerce. We wanted to change the platform because the site was not responsive for mobile devices, so we decided to build a site that could be accessed by smartphones and other mobile devices. We also needed a platform for maintenance and upgrades.

How did you come to work with Nimax?

We chose them because their process was very clear and precise. They start from scratch by analyzing the business and present a well thought out solution.

How much have you invested with Nimax?

The total cost of everything was $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project started in 2010 and was finished the end of 2011. The new website was started in 2013 and was completed this year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We have a new website which is more appropriate for our current products. It’s been quite good in terms of financial results.

How did Nimax perform from a project management standpoint?

They were professional.

Are there any areas Nimax could improve?

Sometimes they don’t meet deadlines but I think that’s common in this industry.

Overall, the client was happy with the work that Nimax did, citing the quality of the project that they delivered, noting their creative approach to the project and their working flexibility.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Founded in 2000, ARQA Technologies is a leading independent financial software provider in Russia and CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States]. It provides automated front-to-back solutions for over 300 sell and buy-side institutions from different countries.

I’m the head of advertising and marketing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimax?

Development, implementation with further support, and development of corporate style and company website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

It was branding and development of new visual images that identify the company and its products for those outside. We needed a new united site of the company, merging separate products’ sites and the site of the company into a general corporate internet portal on the basis of a new corporate style.

How did you come to work with Nimax?

We researched and studied samples from design companies and web studios of the RU.net. Nimax is a notable interactive agency (in the top 20 creative web studios of RU.net) with recognized achievements and an optimal mix of designers and web-developers.

How much have you invested with Nimax?

I cannot disclose this.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been collaborating since 2012. The implementation of every project took one year on average. The ongoing project concerns identity and website development.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

A new corporate style has been created that improved recognition of the company and its products. The new website corresponds to modern requirements for functionality and design. Both of the above have been positively reviewed by clients and partners of the company.

How did Nimax perform from a project management standpoint?

Projects were implemented in stages (e.g. research – conceptualization – development) with time points and costs for each stage. There was feedback, and when required, intermediate results got corrected. We received required services and support of the project results.

What did you find most impressive about Nimax?

Creativity, flexibility, and structural approach. They delivered complex services from development of corporate identity to web design (which mattered to us).

Are there any areas Nimax could improve?

Nothing in particular.

Feedback summary:

Overall, the client was very pleased with the services that Nimax offered them. The quality of the project was excellent. The only two areas that they mentioned Nimax had room for improvement was in their pricing and ability to stick to project timelines.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a supplier of different kinds of electronic equipment, mostly for local producers. We sell different kinds of equipment, from measurement equipment to technical furniture, to some SMT [surface mount technology] machines. When we ordered services from Nimax, it was a product of our work on rebranding as a company.

I’m the person responsible for technical furniture. We also worked with Nimax on a specialized website for furniture. I also took part in rearranging the main website.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimax?

We wanted our website to look modern and more client oriented, to add some usability and some bright details. It needed to be compliant with our brand look and our strategy.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

It was the work of both of us - the marketing department of our company and their specialists. We discussed the ideas, how we see their final product, and they offered their ideas and ways to implement the strategy.

How did you come to work with Nimax?

It was a competition between several companies. We sent them our general ideas of how we see it and our brand book. We found the offer from Nimax as the best one. We saw some local ratings and examples of their previous work and liked what we saw there. That’s why we invited Nimax to start with us.

How much have you invested with Nimax?

It was a year ago and we had several steps to the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We continue some work for my website for a separate brand like technical furniture. This website has multiple versions and we have something done every now and then. As for our main website, I think there are some small technical things we need to have fixed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Mostly, people tell us they like the new design and the usability. All in all, they gave us a five - the highest marking in our system.

How did Nimax perform from a project management standpoint?

Personally, I had a perfect impression of their work. I had some previous experience with some other company, where we were really disappointed with their performance. They had millions of errors both on their manager’s performance and website performance. When it comes to Nimax, it was almost perfect, the issues were very small things.

What did you find most impressive about Nimax?

They offer quite a complicated product as well as additional services. They always go deep into the project so they understand our needs as a client. They did a great job.

Are there any areas Nimax could improve?

No. I think everything is fine.
