Nimacloud promised to bring in senior talents, but they provided resources fresh from bootcamp. Although their developers were personable and committed, they lacked the necessary expertise and experience for the project. Nimacloud’s dishonesty resulted in a failed partnership.

I’m the founder of an outdoor activity app.

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimacloud?
I needed help building an iOS app.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, we made a project outline for developing our iOS app. Nimacloud then proceeded to build the app using React Native.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Gabriel (CEO), a senior engineer, a project manager, and three developers.
How did you come to work with Nimacloud?
My CTO at the time had a good experience working with Nimacloud, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June–November 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.
The project was a complete failure, and it was because Nimacloud was deceitful in how they provided talents. We were paying for senior-level developers, but they deployed bootcamp grads working on their first project. I had to bring in senior developers to clean everything up.
How was project management handled?
We noticed issues after a month of working together. Nimacloud brought in a developer straight out of bootcamp, and problems became apparent. We tried to work through it, but unfortunately, the quality of their work was so bad that we had to cut ties. Their management thought they could guide the junior developers, but they failed.
Nimacloud tried to mitigate issues, but at the end of the day, they had inexperienced resources working on our project. I think they were pressed for talents at the time, but they didn’t disclose that initially.
Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?
I feel bad for the bootcamp developers Nimacloud hired — they were nice, friendly, and easy to work with. They cared for the project and wanted to do a good job. However, they were put in an impossible situation.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The whole issue could’ve been resolved if they had been honest about their resources.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Vet the people they’re providing and ensure they have the necessary credentials.
