A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of operations and marketing at a real estate title and settlement company. We work with clients at the end of the process, underwriting their properties and handling settlement for purchase and refinances of both residential and commercial real estate.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Neutrino Design?

We wanted to freshen up our website by condensing lengthy sections and making it more attractive for today’s Internet users.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a previous website, but they completely redesigned it. They prioritized a clean, user-friendly experience for our new site. Their team achieved this by adding forms, consolidating information, and incorporating a video on our main page. We also have newsletter archives and blogs.

They provided us with several different options that we reviewed together. In the end, we selected the design option that suited our company best. We’re working on site for our sister agencies currently, but I know I can call on them if I need help with this site as well.

What is the team composition?

I worked primarily with Devon (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with Neutrino Design?

We conducted interviews with three initial firms and thought that Devon took an approach that would be a good fit for our organization.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent under $10,000 on their work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our work together in summer of 2018, and our teams are still working together on new projects.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our new site is very navigable, so it’s easy for our customers to logically discover the information they need. We get extremely positive feedback from users who say that it’s fresh, attractive, and informative. That’s also head to more inquiries and business opportunities from our website. Many of those leads fall within our main target audience as well.

How did Neutrino Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They were responsive, always giving us explanations behind the actions they were talking to help us understand our product better. I appreciated them keeping us a part of the design process. If I have encountered issues with site revisions, Devon will send me a video that details how to correct the issue. This great as it has educated me on how to modify an continue to update the sites more effectively. He was very thorough at educating and explaining processes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job of listening to our goals and needs, and came to the table with great ideas to achieve the appropriate outcomes. Their team prioritized educating us on their processes and decisions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, I had to ask them to explain certain parts of the process in more layman terms. He’s an expert in the field but was always willing to readdress things that I didn’t understand. We were fortunate to have them on the team. They were very professional and accommodating.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open-minded, understanding that they’re the experts. You should take their advice into consideration to have the best outcome.

Resulting from the final product, the site has improved across all metrics. Project management tools were expertly employed, promoting a seamless workflow between the three parties involved. They achieved success by prioritizing the client, fostering a collaborative relationship.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and advising partner at The PRIME Factory, located in Blacksburg, Virginia. My role involves sales, marketing, client interactions, and project management.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Neutrino Design?

We needed help creating a website for one of our clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our client had fairly significant must-haves, which the team addressed initially in their request for proposal and request for quotation. They were responsible for the development end of the project. While we collaborated on some of the design aspects, we largely provided content, photos, and layout. Our work was integrated into a WordPress website with several plug-ins. Additionally, Neutrino Design also offered hosting services. So, they handled everything from a cybersecurity standpoint as well.

What is the team composition?

I worked primarily with Devon (Co-Founder & Creative Director, Neutrino Design). There were at least 2–3 others collaborating with us, too

How did you come to work with Neutrino Design?

I liked that they worked with government clients in the past. While our client isn’t directly in the government sector, they serve customers that work in that space. It was important that we hired someone who could provide the security necessary for government information. We were confident that Neutrino Designs could do this.

Aside from that, our companies seemed like a pretty good match. We’re both located in the same city, members of similar groups, tenants of the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, and functioning into the entrepreneurial community. Because of that, we’ve networked with and competed against each other in the past. Our teams have also collaborated on plenty of projects that offer real value to the customer.

How much have you invested with them?

In our several projects together, we’ve spent about $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2016, and the collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our web analytics are trending very positively. Website hits, inquiries, and requests for quotations are up significantly, probably in the double digits. We ended up achieving everything we could with their help.

How did Neutrino Design perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was very strong, aided by tools like Slack that helped with visualization, mobility, and efficiency. They followed up very frequently in addition to our weekly cadence of meeting every two weeks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Being able to contact them whenever needed was important to our success. They made themselves very available to us. In comparison to other vendors, usually only available during business hours, they’re responsive, making sure they get back to you as soon as they can. They typically respond to us with a text or email within the day, which is exactly what we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. Considering that there were three parties involved, it turned out very well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have clear expectations, a solid scope, and responsibilities laid out upfront. That’s what they like to do anyway, and it helps set up a more successful project.
