    BACKGROUND

    Introduce your business and what you do there.

    I am one of the directors and a co-owner of a business in the educational space. We're based out of Bangalore.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

    What challenge were you trying to address with NetBramha Studios?

    As a part of the further expansion of our business, we wanted to provide more online education.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We partnered with NetBramha to design our website and the UI/UX for our whole online learning platform. In order to give our customers a fresh feeling, it’s not under our existing business name. We didn’t want to launch it as a mobile app, but we wanted it to be mobile-friendly.

    The scope of the work centered around envisioning our online learning platform. The online learning platform includes an e-commerce portal. After they make a purchase, users will learn various courses and technologies. The NetBramha team came up with various user flows and developed the user experience. Working with our products and what type of information we’re sharing, the team took us through the entire process. They built the information architecture, wireframe design, UX, and UI.

    What is the team composition?

    We had two dedicated project leads that we directly interact with who worked on various steps and took us through the complete process. We also worked with two UX leads as well as 5–6 designers that converted the wireframes and UX into more visual design.

    How did you come to work with NetBramha Studios?

    I came across NetBramha in a previous role where I used to write blogs about different start-ups. At that time, they were quite small. They were dominating a niche in the Indian market; there wasn’t anyone else who could do full-fledged UI and UX design at that point in time. I remembered to potentially use their services in the future. When we looked for a partner who could design our UI and UX, we evaluated many companies in Bangalore. A key differentiating factor that NetBramha brought to the table was their quality of work, which was the reason we chose them as our partner.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    The project scope was quite large—we worked with them on this project from October 2016–December 2017.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    We haven’t officially launched the platform to customers yet due to some of our internal priorities. Currently, the platform is in development and our goal is to go live in the first quarter of 2020. The work they did for us was very systematic, thorough, and detail-oriented. When we looked at their output, it had good quality. The comments we had were relatively minimal.

    How did NetBramha Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

    We used a combination of tools and mechanisms. They set up Basecamp for us. If the designers had queries, they would send them to us via Basecamp. That also gave us clarity on the progress of the project and the to-do list. For other demonstrations, we used Skype as well as regular face-to-face meetings in their office.

    They had a very good project management process in place. When we gave them input, they had a very good process to capture what we told them. They had a very strong internal review process in place.

    On a couple of the use cases, we gave them some negative feedback because the code didn’t meet our expectations. However, they were open to our input and quickly worked on it. They also gave us recommendations about the pros and cons of implementing the design. Even now, if we have any doubts or need clarification, we can reach out to them and they are always available to help us.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    The quality of work sets them apart. Many people will promise but won’t deliver, but NetBramha delivered everything according to our expectations.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    Whenever we gave them feedback, they took it. They’re quite open-minded, and I haven’t seen a situation where they weren’t open to feedback. As long as they follow the latest design trends, maintain their team, and keep doing what they’re doing, it will be great.

    Do you have any advice for potential customers?

    I think having more communication would definitely help because there is a lot of creative work involved. Have a tight communication loop with them through bi-weekly reviews or regular Skype demos. Using Basecamp allowed us to share information and stay in the loop. If you have good communication with them, I think the team will do a good job.

    BACKGROUND

    Please describe your company and your position there.

    I am the Founder of WeddingBox and have been running the organisation for the past 7 years. I am the decision maker for all services from my organisation. WeddingBox services include unique wedding branding and customised event experiences to its customers. 

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

    For what projects/services did your company hire NetBramha Studios?

    WeddingBox was a new company needing end-to-end business and brand strategy and online presence. While WeddingBox had the capabilities inhouse to create experiences for events, we faced challenges with identifying a niche market and how to stand out from the other organisations providing similar services. We had to approach an outside vendor who were capable of of strategizing our brand and online presence.

    What were your goals for this project?

    WeddingBox is unique to the services and experiences it provides to customers and we wanted to create a dynamic brand which could adapt and cater to different kinds of events. Our expectation was to create an online experience that resonated our offline experience and translate that into actual business by attracting customers via online and offline presence.

    SOLUTION

    How did you select this vendor?

    We were in talks with multiple agencies. We came across NetBramha through one of their project case studies on Behance (Storeking). We shortlisted two vendors of which we chose NetBramha for their deep understanding of design and their strong portfolio. Another outstanding factor for us to choose NetBramha was the amazing experience as a client and how they impressed us with ideas in the first few meetings even before the engagement started.

    Describe the scope of their work in detail.

    Overall Process: They began with a week plus sessions of Discovery Workshops to understand the challenges, our business goals and strategize on how we could stand out as a niche business. 


    Branding: They initially strategized on identity design and approach that dynamically spoke and represented how we operate. Once the approach was frozen, we were provided with different options of identity and collaterals from which we finalised on the one we were extremely happy with.


    Digital Experience: They began with identifying different User Personas for our business through which we were then able to define User Journeys and Information Architecture for our web experience. They then designed detailed wireframes and visual designs with trendy illustrations that spoke our brand.


    Deliverables: Identity design and branding stationery & collaterals along with branding guidelines, Website with scalable visual language guidelines.

    What was the team composition?

    We worked with a young yet dynamic team consisting of a Project Manager, Brand Strategist and UX Designers. Something that also really impressed us was the involvement of the Founder/Design Director who was accessible to us throughout the project. 

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

    WeddingBox gained a high traction from both online and offline and the brand/identity was much appreciated amongst our customers and resulted in building trust and long partnership engagements with our customers. We have got a significant jump in the number of views and our dynamic identity speaks volumes about our company now. 

    How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

    NetBramha was organised and structured right from the start. We were scheduled for daily and weekly meetings - a mix of both online and offline to oversee the progress of the project. They were flexible and strong at using the project management tools that we insisted which our team was accustomed to. They were always welcome to challenges and feedback that we gave and they iterated until the outcome was more than we expected.

    What did you find most impressive about this company?

    Their culture of "hunger for design" and "honesty" is what impressed us the most - they agreed to disagree and disagreed to agree with references, design values and principles backing their design thoughts. The final deliverables and outcome was a fantastic job done. They are a studio that exercises a high level of professionalism and design expertise. 

    Are there any areas for improvement?

    They anticipated and course corrected any deviations during the project and there was no necessity of our involvement to do anything differently. There were a few challenges which we resolved together. We felt like they were a part of our team than the feel of an external vendor.
