Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the executive director of the Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce. We’re a membership organization that helps our members and the community.
What challenge were you trying to address with NerdBrand?
They provide our website services and are working with us to hopefully promote a virtual event that has been live for seven years.
What was the scope of their involvement?
NerdBrand has redesigned our website and made it more user-friendly. Basically, they cleaned it up as well as made it faster and more streamlined. Their team provided a backend where our members can log on and update their information.
They’ve also provided videography services for another event we host; that’s on hold right now. NerdBrand does those videos and gets them uploaded for us. They now host our website and can directly put the video links on.
What is the team composition?
I primarily work with Jason (CEO & Co-Founder), but I do know the others as well.
How did you come to work with NerdBrand?
They were recommended by the vice president on our board. He had previously worked with them.
How much have you invested with them?
They’ve done a lot of the work pro bono. Now, we pay them $100 a month for hosting the website.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement started in July 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our members are happy. They didn’t even know they were able to go in and update their information. This feature was launched right before COVID-19 so I haven’t spent a lot of time promoting it. That’s on me, not them.
How did NerdBrand perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been excellent. All I do is give them what I need, and it’s done. I don’t like babysitting vendors at all. We’re a small chamber so we’re more like family. It’s nice to hand things off and know they’ll take care of it. They fit right in with us. We communicate through phone and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I like them because they know what they’re doing. They try to break it down to websites for dummies so I can understand. They’re good about listening to my ideas and not just saying they can’t do something. They find a way to make it happen. I enjoy working with someone who sees the potential and it doesn’t scare them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re able to meet with them in person, that’d be wonderful. Don’t be afraid to take a chance with them because they know what they’re doing. They have the right people on board. They’ll go 150% for you.
The website has met the partner's expectations and their chamber members are happy. NerdBrand has been a true partner. They work independently and uphold reliability. They always find a way to fulfill a request as well as implement good listening and effective communication skills.
