OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Nephilim, and what were your goals?
We wanted to create an unseen before an internal solution for interactive roadmapping - something that will look straight out from the videogame. For that, we're aimed for true gaming feeling paired up with the user experience that will allow to get familiar with our initiatives in a fun and interactive way.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Nephilim was up to the task with interactive and graphically rich front-end technology suited for the project - Adobe Animate. Besides, they provided clear documentation based on our needs with convenient insights into time and budget estimates. Contact with the representative was swift and solid - as was the whole cooperation throughout the project.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Starting from documentation and basic sketches we've gone through graphical and UX projects to the MVP, and from there we were able to rapidly change and improve features thanks to the agile approach to the work from Nephilim. Technology for the front end was Adobe Animate, and on the back-end, we've used Ruby on Rails that allowed us to provide good results in the short time span.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Team consisted of a Frontend Developer, Backend Developer and Designer on Nephilim’s end, cooperating with the Product Owner & Project Manager and Graphic Designer on the company end.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Deliverable - the Interactive Roadmap Tool was very high quality, with each element polished both in terms of usability and visual quality. Even the most pivotal changes at the end of the project were fulfilled without much of a hassle from the Nephilim side resulting in a very professional outcome in the first iteration of the tool. The Company is perceiving the tool as something unseen and fresh and thus - contributing to it frequently with their tasks to provide company-wide info about our initiatives.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Daily fluent communication with the Project Manager and the whole development team was a key to success. The fully agile approach allowed us to provide pivotal changes at the end stage of the project. Interactive Roadmap had something more of a game-feeling in the design principle - it was hard to predict if the solution will work right away User-Experience wise. A couple of crucial changes emerged as a result of test group feedback - Nephilim was eager to implement right away - they felt what we should do and were really engaged in the project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Nephilim was fully professional throughout the project. Their tempo was incredible - each increment coming on time with something visual and useful to show to the stakeholders. Communication on daily basis, with heart put into the project - they were truly feeling the use cases for the tool and were able to implement somewhat pivotal features thanks to the agile-based framework.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really - we're looking forward to working with them with further improvements to the tool and other projects in G2A.COM :)

Nephilim developed a podcast mobile app for a media production company, which features an audio-controlling dashboard. They’re now providing back-end app support and development for iOS and Android platforms.
Nephilim is leading a detail-oriented process, working under an agile methodology to achieve the success of the mobile application. The product has positive reviews in multiple digital application stores. Also, the team consists of talented and solid developers that convey trust.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the product manager at the digital department of a media production company. I’m also the product owner of the Scrum team that we have set up for our podcast app.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Nephilim?
We wanted to create a podcast application.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Nephilim set up a team dedicated to developing and maintaining a mobile application for iOS and Android, providing back-end services as well. The application allows users to upload audio files and play them in mobile applications. There’s a complete audio dashboard where you can rewind the audio, slow its speed, add it to your library, download it, share it, and mark it as played.
What is the team composition?
Seven people were working with us at first. The team is now reduced to 3–4 iOS and Android developers working on native app development. There was also a Scrum master at some point in the project.
How did you come to work with Nephilim?
I think there was a previous collaboration with Nephilim, and our team trusted them. I wasn’t here from the beginning; the project was 8–10 years old when I joined.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started in March 2019, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
After 400–500 ratings, the app rating in the App Store is 4.6 and a tad lower in the Google Play Store. For us, that’s a great public evaluation.
How did Nephilim perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated through Slack and Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve been detail-oriented. As the product manager, I felt very safe and comfortable with them on the project. We’ve done about 20 releases with them in the last year, and they’ve been stable and solid. It’s a team that I’d trust for any mobile app development project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In the beginning, it took some time for us to get proactivity from the younger members of the team. Maybe that was more of a cultural or personality difference, but that’s not something every product manager wants. I would like more proactivity from them and don’t want them to expect that every feature request should come from our end. We talked about this with Nephilim’s team, and I think they listened to that.
Any advice for potential customers?
Request that they don’t be shy. They’re a talented team that knows a lot about each of their domains. There’s value in having them listen to what we have to say and get them to participate in giving their feedback.
